My Youth Began With Him

She remembered back to the beginning of their relationship, when it was her birthday, she joked about wanting Ni Yang to sing that song to her.

However, Ni Yang serenaded her with the classic instead because he was too shy to sing that song with such lyrics.

Chen Jie wanted to laugh and weep all at once. She thought that Ni Yang had forgotten about all of this.

So, she was more than surprised to hear Ni Yang sing a very romantic song several years later.

Chen Jie liked this song, not only because of its soothing melody, but also because of the lyrics.

Sweet and cozy. Perhaps all of us, regardless of whether we were man or woman, look forward to meeting our other half; someone who loves us for us. We’d then spend the rest of our lives with them, leading a simple yet fulfilling life. Although this wish sounded simple, not many people could achieve it.

Ni Yang’s voice was naturally mellifluous. With his deep emotions for Chen Jie, his eyes were full of unspoken affection.

Chen Jie was immediately moved to tears. She covered her mouth with her hands, refraining herself from crying.

The ICU was now surrounded by their colleagues at South Side.

Huo Mian, Qin Chu, and the twins were amongst the crowd, quietly watching as bystanders, as witnesses to their happiness.

When the first song was finished, Ni Yang got down on one knee.

“Miss Chen Jie, do you take Ni Yang to be your husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, until death do us part?”

“Isn’t that the pastor’s job?” Chen Jie’s voice was trembling from emotion.

She wasn’t expecting so many surprises.

“I have to ask to be sure. You have to answer carefully. With so many people watching, you can’t take back your words.” Ni Yang smiled at her.

Chen Jie was now sobbing so hard she couldn’t speak. All she could do was cover her mouth as she cried a sea of tears.

Little Bean: “Wow, I’m so moved. Uncle Ni Yang is so romantic.”

Pudding: “If Uncle Zhixin was like this, he would have gotten Auntie Bella’s heart already. He wouldn’t need to do all of this work.”

Little Bean: “Don’t blame him, people are different in nature. Our Uncle Zhixin is the secretive type, while our Uncle Ni Yang is both secretive and a little bit wicked, haha.”

Pudding: “If I were Aunt Jie, I would cry too. So touching…”

The twins were moved by Ni Yang’s gesture and Huo Mian also continued to wipe away her endless stream of tears.

Qin Chu kept his arms around her shoulder.

“Master Qin, when are you going to propose to me again? Oh yeah, speaking of which, we haven’t had a wedding ceremony yet… I feel cheated.” Huo Mian began to whine.

“So, Mrs. Qin, are you complaining about me?” Qin Chu lifted her chin and asked with a smile.

“What? Shouldn’t I complain about you?” She raised her chin defiantly.

“Yes, you should.”

“So, when are you going to marry me?” Huo Mian pouted adorably.

“We’ve always been legally married… we’ve never gotten a divorce, I remember telling that to a certain someone…” Qin Chu laughed.

“But we never had a wedding ceremony…” Four years ago, they would have had a great ceremony, if it had not been for Huo Siqian’s destructive behavior.

“So, Baby, you really want one?” Qin Chu looked at Huo Mian and asked word by word.

“No… actually, I was just kidding. Our children are already grown-up. Why would we need a wedding ceremony? Honey, I’m just teasing you, haha, don’t worry about it.” Huo Mian flashed a smile to hide her inner thoughts. She knew that she was being too unrealistic. The twins were already three years old… There was no reason to have a ceremony… But, every woman has dreamt of the wedding ceremony, right?

At this moment, Huo Mian felt quite conflicted…
