S.P.E.C.T.O.R – [A Sci-fi space adventure with fantasy elements]

“None taken,” Adam replied before thinking for a moment and asking, “Spector, is it possible to make this stuff inert without it being obvious that it’s been tampered with?”

[[Affirmative, an electrical discharge of sufficient strength would disable the activation mechanism of the vial while also making one of the gaseous elements inert.]]

“That’s it?” Adam asked in surprise.

[[One of the two gaseous elements that make up Yliaster DX Six is highly susceptible to electrical discharges.

While the vial it is contained within offers protection, an electrical discharge of sufficient magnitude would render the element inert.]]

“So what, I just hit it with a stun shot from one of my weapons?” Adam asked.

[[That would indeed prove effective.]]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Why do you think the streamer wants to render it inert?]

[Superherofangirl (Earth): Because he’s a hero.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Bullshit, the streamer is in no way a hero.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Agreed, how can he possibly be a hero with the amount of people he’s killed.]

[Superherofangirl (Earth): He’s saved far more; I mean, he’s already saved an entire race.]

[RealOtaku (Earth): Ok, so then he’s an anti-hero.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Alright, but why is he trying to destroy that nerve agent?]

[CEOHopkins (Spector): Because nerve agents are things that shouldn’t exist and the streamer knows that.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): But then why not vaporise it? Why go through the trouble of just making it inert?]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): Because he needs it to access Fiere Lucent’s residence.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): That’s cap. If they plan to ambush him at the cross-dome transfer point, there is no way they are letting him near Fiere Lucent.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Alright, then the question still remains as to why he didn’t vaporise it.]

[OfficialLorelie (Spector): I guess we’re just going to have to wait and find out.]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Ughh, I hate cliffhangers.]

Adam knelt down and placed the box on the ground, which he carefully opened before taking a step back.

He pulled out his universal force staff and aimed it at the box before pressing a section, which caused a blue bolt of energy to erupt from it.

As the bolt of energy hit the box and vial within it, blue energy could be seen swirling over it for a few seconds before disappearing.

As Adam and the chat watched, they noticed that the green gas seemed to become chaotic for a moment before settling down as if nothing had happened.

[HackerSu (TIS-Starleap): Did it work?]

[Phoenixempress (Spector): I guess. I mean, we saw the green gas go crazy for a moment.]

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): How do we make sure?]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): How about the streamer activates the vial? He’ll know if he succeeded based on whether he survives.]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): And if he dies, he knows it failed?]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Exactly. Kekeke.]

“Did it work?” Adam asked warily.

[[Why don’t you activate it and find out?]]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Hahaha.]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Kekeke.]

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Adam sighed at Spector’s unexpectedly sarcastic remark before he bent down and retrieved the box while closing the lid.

As he did, he said, “You’ve been hanging out in the stream chat too much.”

Instead of answering, Spector said, [[We are now crossing into the main dome and approaching the cross-dome transfer points first service hatch.]]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): She totally avoided his question. Kekeke.]

[MercheadAnderson (Palaxia): She?]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Well, we already called Spector AI the streamer’s best wife, so of course she’s a she.]

[MercheadAnderson (Palaxia): Fair.]

Open the access hatch,” Adam instructed.

[[Affirmative.]] Spector replied before the access hatch slid open, allowing them to see the walls of the tunnel flashing past.

[Superherofangirl (Earth): I’m pretty sure that’s a breach of health and safety regulations.]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): Do they even have health and safety regulations in space?]

[LadyErkath (Aqua Primus): Of a sort and that definitely breaks them.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): I think the real question is, do terrorist organisations have health and safety regulations?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): They’re selling biochemical weapons; I think we can safely assume they don’t.]

Adam approached the access hatch and as he did so, the dragon-like wings of his combat armour appeared through the back of his outfit.

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Damn, he’s still able to fly?]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Idiot, he’s still wearing his combat armour.]

[RealOtaku (Earth): Refund, I want a refund of this game. I was promised a AAA title and yet look at that awful clipping.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): You’re not wrong, it really does look kind of shoddy.]

[Animefangirl (Earth): I guess whoever designed the bracelet never took wings into account.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Did we just get a huge clue into who created the streamer’s tech and ship?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Now that you mention it, I think we did.]

As the chat got excited about the notion of uncovering the mystery behind Spector, Adam leapt out of the transport and into the tunnel.

“Miss Lucent, we have a slight issue,” a woman stated as she entered a large bathroom and addressed the naked woman who was lounging in a large bath.

“What is it, Nogiss?” Fiere Lucent asked as she gently cleaned her arm within the hot water.

“It seems there’s an issue with regards to the Yliaster DX Six that you ordered to be sent over,” Nogiss replied.

“What sort of issue?” Fiere asked with a frown as she stopped cleaning herself and looked at Nogiss.

“Dock head Husan ordered someone to bring it over; however, instead of taking the direct cross-dome transport between the dock and the mansion, the individual took it via the public cross-dome transport.

As this individual passed through the security scanner, the scanner detected the Yliaster DX Six on his person and security attempted to apprehend him.

Unfortunately, the individual in question refused to comply and even threatened to breach the Yliaster DX Six’s vial.

Because of this, the security detail was forced to let him board the cross-dome transport while notifying the security detail in the main domes transfer point.”

Fiere frowned before ordering, “So have the security detail snipe the bastard as soon as he gets off the transport.”

“That was indeed what the main dome security detail planned to do; unfortunately, the transport was empty upon arrival at the transfer point,” Nogiss replied.

“Empty?” Fiere asked in surprise before adding, “What happened to him?”

“Security’s current theory is that he hacked the transport door open before escaping into the tunnel where he plans to use one of the maintenance access points. However, a check of the transport’s logs does not show any evidence of the door being opened,” Nogiss explained.

“That’s not too surprising; if he could hack the door, he could most definitely wipe it from the logs,” Fiere replied before thinking for a moment.

Nogiss stayed quiet and waited for Fiere to issue her instructions while the latter began to once again clean herself.

Finally, Fiere asked, “That was our only batch of Yliaster DX Six, right?”

“That’s correct,” Nogiss confirmed.

“Then it’s paramount that we recover it. I already made the deal with Arisu after all. Tell security that they can use whatever means they deem necessary to recover the Yliaster DX Six.

Also, if possible, I want the culprit taken alive and brought to me, though recovery of the Yliaster DX Six is the priority.”

“Yes, Miss Lucent,” Nogiss replied.

“Once you’re done with that, come join me as I want some fun before Arisu arrives,” Fiere ordered as she licked her lips while examining Nogiss’ body.

“Of course, Miss Lucent,” Nogiss replied with a revolted look.

“Haha, I adore that revolted look you give me, dear Nogiss,” Fiere said as her hands slid down between her legs before she stopped herself and said, “Now go do what I told you.”

“Yes,” Nogiss hissed angrily before leaving for the bathroom.

[[Security footage of the main domes cross-dome transfer point shows that several snipers were here waiting for the transports arrival.]]

Figured as much,” Adam remarked as he followed the directions to the maintenance access that Spector had sent to his HUD.

[OracleRomy (Elysium): Looks like you were right, Gunlovergirl.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): It was the most likely tactic they would take. A person’s hand goes limp once they’re killed after all, so sniping them from afar was the safest choice, even if the streamer was holding the nerve toxin in his hand.]

“What are they doing now?” Adam asked.

[[Internal communications show that security have just received orders from Fiere Lucent’s personnel assistant, Eytelis.]]

They are to recover the Yliaster DX Six using any means necessary and, if possible, take you alive so that you can be brought before Fiere Lucent herself.]]

[RealOtaku (Earth): There’s your way in, streamer; get yourself caught.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): That’s what Agent 69 would do. Kekeke.]

[OfficialRowena (Spector): Did you just say Eytelis? That’s not possible.]

“Eytelis, why does that name sound so familiar?”

[OfficialRowena (Spector): I told you about her when we travelled back to Solarian Prime; she’s a Dryad and Solarian Prime’s Bureau Chief.]

[RealOtaku (Earth): A Dryad? That’s so cool.]
