I Just Want to Cultivate Quietly and Farm

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Tier Three Spirit Sword

That old guy must be a professional assassin!

His cultivation seems to be at the Peak of Qi Refining, but he’s so adept at killing, without a hint of emotion.

Engaging him in battle, Li Mu isn’t sure he can take him down with absolute certainty. If he’s not careful and gives the other a chance, there’s a possibility of being counter-killed.

To be safe, Li Mu decides to continue biding his time on the mountain, wait for the next wave of spirit plants to be harvested, and strengthen his abilities before making a move.

Next, Li Mu reinforced the defense arrays on the mountain, and to be safe, set up two more arrays in the yard: the Dragon Elephant Ambush Array and the Dragon Elephant Heaven-Covering Array.

The talisman paper is all used up.

After finishing farm work, Li Mu focused his energy on artifact refining.

The process of artifact refining involves: purifying spiritual materials, smelting artifact embryos, adding auxiliary materials, condensing artifact patterns, embedding restrictions, etc. The higher the level of spiritual artifact being refined, the more complex the steps, especially after reaching level five and six, when one can also perform divine refining spirit to promote the spiritual artifact to: spirit treasure.

However, refining a spirit treasure is a matter for much later, even if Li Mu could elevate his artifact refining technique to level six, seven, or even ten, until his cultivation reaches the Golden Core, Nascent Soul Realm, it’s difficult for him to support refining a spirit treasure.

The higher the level of spiritual artifact being refined, the higher the refinement materials used, requiring true fire, earth fire, anomalous fire, celestial fire, etc., and the higher-grade spirit ore materials require higher-grade fire power to smelt.

The Tier Two Flame Sun Refining Furnace Li Mu purchased, equipped with a Flame Sun Array producing Flame Sun Spirit Fire, is just suitable for smelting Tier Two spirit ore materials.

Activating the Flaming Sun Refining Furnace, the Flame Sun Spirit Fire within emits terrifyingly high temperatures.

Li Mu successively placed Tier Two refined gold and Golden Evil Stone into the refining furnace, which quickly liquefied under the intense heat of the Flaming Sun Spirit Fire.

Li Mu used the Minor Divine Technique - Divine Refining Spirit Fusion Technique, inserting his divine sense into the molten gold yellow ore liquid, where floating impurities were quickly stripped away and expelled as waste dregs, rapidly reducing the volume of the golden liquid and making its color become purer, ... in about a moment’s time, a mass of metal liquid, originally melted from sixty to seventy pounds of Tier Two metal element spirit ore, was left with only one-tenth of its original amount.

Under the manipulation of an invisible large hand, the mass of metal liquid was elongated, gradually transforming into a sword embryo shape, infused with abundant spiritual power while the artifact pattern base array condensed inside the sword embryo, ... it wasn’t long before the artifact embryo of a golden longsword slowly flew out from the furnace.

Holding the golden sword embryo with iron clamps, Li Mu placed it upon the forging platform with one hand while holding a spirit hammer with the other, his palm gathered with spiritual power, forcefully hammering the golden sword embryo to condense its artifact patterns.

The continuous sound of ”clang” rang out, the sword embryo humming, spirit light exploding repeatedly.

The first artifact pattern: Sword Heart, condensed; the second artifact pattern: Sharp Blade, condensed; the third artifact pattern: Solid, ... the seventh artifact pattern: Spirit Taming, condensed; the eighth artifact pattern: Golden Evil, ...

The Tier Two sword embryo hummed with ’buzzing’ sounds, filled with spirituality, as if celebrating its rebirth.

At this moment it would be prudent to stop, temper the spirit sword with quenching and spirit gathering, ensuring Li Mu successfully refines a Tier Two top-grade spirit sword, valued at over two thousand middle spirit stones.

However, while refining the sword embryo base array, Li Mu used the Minor Divine Technique - Divine Refining Spirit Fusion Technique to establish a Tier Three artifact embryo base array for it. There’s a chance it could become a Tier Three spirit sword, if he can successfully condense just one more artifact pattern!

To gamble or not!

If successful, model lounge success, from Tier Two to Tier Three!

If failed, back to diving and working, at worst starting anew!

Grinding his teeth, Li Mu continued to wield the spirit hammer against the sword embryo, infusing spiritual power, condensing the next artifact pattern: Affix.

”Buzz!” The golden sword embryo trembled violently, letting out an excited sword cry, spirit light dazzling, brilliance unmatched.

The Tier Three lower grade gold element spirit sword is completed!

Li Mu excitedly glanced at the character virtual frame.

[Ding, you have successfully refined a Tier Three spirit sword, artifact refining proficiency +10.]

It truly succeeded! Level 5 refining technique, refining a Tier Three spirit sword with an additional ten proficiency points. Not bad, Li Mu beamed with joy, and confirmation through the attributes column affirmed he made a successful gamble.

Looking at the golden element spirit sword, radiating the unique spiritual glow of a Tier Three spiritual artifact, Li Mu suddenly realized a neglected issue, his bright smile instantly froze.

Tier Three spirit sword, Li Mu realized something overlooked.

Finished!

How did it become a Tier Three lower grade gold element spirit sword!

The other four spirit swords composing the Five Elements Sword Array need to be of the same tier. Thus, he’ll have to refine four more spirit swords of different elements in Tier Three.

Not an easy task!

”Forget it, I’ll use this one for now, and if push comes to shove, I’ll refine another Tier Two gold element spirit sword to complete the array.” Li Mu’s joyous eyes gleamed with delight, his divine sense landed on the golden spirit sword, ready to refine it.

With a ”whoosh”, the golden spirit sword transformed into a streak of gold light, shooting forward, in an instant, it flew out of Little Liang Mountain.

Li Mu blinked, his divine sense affixed to the Tier Three golden sword, remarkably easy, it seemed effortless to control it flying across seven or eight miles without difficulty.

Is this the spirituality of a Tier Three spirit sword, along with the special effect of the ninth artifact pattern?

The spirituality of a Tier Three spirit sword is so potent, it could claim an enemy’s head from ten miles away?

Suddenly and excitedly, other ’ill-fitted’ thoughts came to Li Mu’s mind.

Action over hesitation!

Li Mu immediately affixed his divine sense onto the Tier Three spirit sword, racing around the vicinity of Little Liang Mountain, searching for traces of the old assassin.

Soon, Li Mu discovered the old assassin hiding in a concealed cave, roasting meat by a bonfire in front of the cave, looking frequently towards Little Liang Mountain, evidently still harboring intentions!

Li Mu controlled the Tier Three spirit sword, stealthily hovering over his head, and with the swiftness of lightning, swooped down harshly towards the old assassin.

”Boom” a loud crash, the golden light struck down like thunderbolt, arriving in a blink, plowing into the ground, with obstructing boulders cleaved like tofu, split in two, shattered debris scattering, dust flying.

When the dust powder cleared away

A severed arm appeared on the ground, alongside the pitiful fleeing figure of the old assassin.

Ha ha!

Li Mu let out a cold laugh, fleeing fast, but can he flee faster than a flying sword?

In the next second, Li Mu controlled the Tier Three spirit sword, darting towards the old assassin, racing like the wind, arriving in the blink of an eye.

In his panicked flight, Yan Zongli was already prepared, with a ”rip!” his figure transformed into another streak of thunderlight, vanishing from where he stood.

...

He actually still had an escape talisman!

Watching the fleeing old assassin’s back disappear, Li Mu, full of unwillingness, could only dejectedly control the Tier Three spirit sword to return.

The sudden assault earlier by the Tier Three gold element spirit sword, along with its continuous scouting flights, had consumed a substantial amount of its spiritual energy. It needed a period of maintenance before it could be used for long-range sword control again, not to mention further pursuit.

Retrieving the Tier Three flying sword, he placed it into the storage bag, intending to later refine a few spirit jade sword boxes for proper maintenance.

Li Mu took out an Earth Crystal Stone from the storage bag, shifting his focus back to the refining furnace, preparing to refine a second Earth Spirit Sword.
