Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1513 - 474: Great Xia’s Rapid Advancement, Military Expansion, Reforms, and a Series of Coincidences (Part 2)

Li Tiancheng deserves this treatment!

Xia Hong nodded. From the fall of Long Mountain to his passing, Li Tiancheng’s time in Great Xia was only a little over eight years, but almost all of Great Xia’s current judicial and penal system, including the final establishment of the Prison Department, was fundamentally his doing. His contributions to Great Xia were indeed significant.

”After Xiang Wentian’s breakthrough, the Camp Supply Department completely ran out of Sun-Rising Pills. Although Director Cheng had four Heavenly Yang Fruits, the secondary materials needed to refine the pills were nowhere to be found. Out of necessity, last November, Madam, Minister, and Yuwen Sizheng led a team of all the Xianyang Level troops in the camp deep into Moao Mountain, both to search for medicinal materials and to find Heavenly Yang Fruits.

It seems that heaven favored them. Madam, Minister, and the rest truly found two new Heavenly Yang Branches, obtaining a total of 14 Heavenly Yang Fruits, alongside all the secondary materials. Director Cheng managed to refine 18 furnaces, resulting in 54 Sun-Rising Pills, thus replenishing the stock in the Camp Supply Department.

The ten people who subsequently broke through were Luo Yuan, Lin Kai, Zhao Long, Liu Yuan, Hou Jing, Xiang Tianyang, Mu Qinghe, Mu Qingyu, Murong Ping, and Murong Yuan, with the last one being my subordinate!”

Xia Chuan, Yuwen Dao, Yuan Cheng, Xu Ning, Lu Yang, Qiu Peng, Yue Feng, Xiang Wentian, Luo Yuan, Lin Kai, Zhao Long, Liu Yuan, Hou Jing, Xiang Tianyang, Mu Qinghe, Mu Qingyu, Murong Ping, Murong Yuan, Jiang Xinfan.

There was now a list of 19 newly added Xianyang Level personnel, which left a deep impression on Xia Hong.

”Therefore, the key is still the Sun-Rising Pills. Xuanling and Xia Chuan managed to bring me such a surprise—wonderful, truly wonderful...”

These are 19 recent breakthroughs. Counting Li Xuanling, Xiang Fuhai, Mu Longhe, and Murong Chui, plus himself as the lord, Great Xia currently boasts a total of 24 Xianyang Levels.

This cannot be compared to the Feudal Towns, but within the Nine Towns Territory, it is an unrivaled strength. The remaining Five Towns, even combined, can’t match Great Xia.

This means, as long as the Feudal Towns do not interfere, Great Xia can unify the entire Southern Slope Territory without any special tactics. Merely relying on these 24 Xianyang Levels will effortlessly accomplish it.

More importantly, this is only at the Xianyang Level!

What about the Cold Resistance Level?

Three years ago, before coming to Moao River, Great Xia’s Earth-digging Realm Limit had already reached 110,000 people, preparing for a surge at the Cold Resistance Level. At that time, Xia Chuan predicted it would happen in the next two years. It has now been over three years, and the current number of Cold Resistance Level personnel in Great Xia...

Xia Hong looked up at Jiang Xinfan and asked softly, ”Do you know the current number of Cold Resistance Levels in Great Xia?”

Jiang Xinfan immediately showed a troubled expression, pondering for a moment before responding: ”Forgive me, Lord. As a Deputy Director in the Military Department, I’m not very familiar with the specifics of Xia City. However, after breaking through to the Xianyang Level at the beginning of the year, I stayed in Xia City for over two months. Based on the conditions within Xia City, I estimate the total number of Cold Resistance Levels in Great Xia should be over 170,000!”

Over 170,000!

Xia Hong’s expression jolted in shock. He certainly wouldn’t compare this number to the Feudal Towns. He remembered clearly that when he left Great Xia three years ago, the number was over 17,800. In just three short years, it has multiplied tenfold!

But soon, he figured out the reason.

The surge might only be one of the causes.

The key is the integration of the Three Towns—Chui Mountain, Jiangxia, and Muyin. The Cold Resistance Levels and the large numbers of Earth-digging Realm Limit from these towns must have fueled this surge. Otherwise, such a tenfold increase is inexplicable.

”You are a Deputy Director in the Military Department, so how has the department changed?”

Upon hearing Jiang Xinfan’s position, Xia Hong was not interested in other changes and directly inquired about the Military Department.

The explosion in Cold Resistance Levels means increasingly abundant manpower. Yuwen Dao is not one to merely maintain the status quo, so the Military Department must have embarked on new measures beyond appointing Jiang Xinfan as Deputy Director. There must be more significant changes.

As expected, Jiang Xinfan’s subsequent response confirmed his suspicion.

”Minister and Director Yuwen began expanding and reforming the army early last year. My department currently retains only 30 army numbers and additionally established a Defensive Army structure. The retained 30 armies signify elite forces, focusing on external warfare and protecting Xia City. Director initially designated all as Ninth Level Armies, with a soldier limit of 2,000. Army levels advance based on battlefield performance and contributions. Eighth Level Armies can have up to 5,000 soldiers. The higher level an army, the more soldiers it can recruit, and, of course, the better treatment they will receive...”

Army Level Promotion System!

As Jiang Xinfan explained his details, eight words emerged in Xia Hong’s mind, and his eyes instantly brightened, his face revealing unconcealed admiration.

Previously, he had considered expanding the army as Great Xia grew larger. Eventually, large-scale army combat situations would arise, making it impossible to strictly adhere to a thousand-soldier-warfare rule. But as for the specific method, he had not thought of a good approach.

The system devised by Xia Chuan and Yuwen Dao not only perfectly addressed the issue of troop numbers but also integrated treatment and support. This system only requires scaling adjustments and can be used indefinitely in the future—it’s brilliant...

”Of the current 30 armies in the Military Department, only the Cloud Jiao and Long Wu armies have been promoted to the Eighth Level, each having 5,000 members. The remaining 28 armies remain at 2,000 each. Additionally, the newly established Defensive Army structure is primarily for guarding the territory, still adhering to the previous thousand-soldier-warfare rule, based on the needs of outposts outside Xia City, currently totaling 70,000 people.”
