Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 705: Chapter 290: Bountiful Harvest—Store Land or Store People_2

Entering the Wushuang Realm, realizing that Long Mountain could no longer catch up, Xia Hong ordered Peng Bo to lead two battalions of soldiers to support Xia Chuan and others at the rear, to speed up their march.

Finally, with an hour left until dawn, when the main force was only three kilometers away from the Wushuang Camp, Xia Chuan and others at the rear finally caught up.

When Xia Chuan’s main force arrived at the rear, the soldiers of the five battalions, besides their own equipment, were almost all carrying one to two sets of Blood-colored Armor, a Strong Bow, and matching blood-colored arrows.

Even the Blood Guard Army prisoners being escorted were mostly laden with armor, clearly all spoils seized by the Cloud Dragon Army.

Xia Chuan was very excited, and upon seeing Xia Hong, he rushed up immediately.

”Leader...”

”Let’s talk after we get back!”

Xia Hong waved his hand, indicating to discuss inside the camp.

An overwhelming force of over a thousand troops, escorting over three hundred prisoners, all entered the giant stone array camp through the entrance.

Xia Chuan, leading a group of Cold Resistance Level men, arranged all the prisoners properly and counted all the spoils, by which time the sky had already begun to lighten.

...

Second Year of Great Xia, July 1

Wushuang Main Building top floor hall.

A group of Cold Resistance Level men stood on either side, while Xia Chuan stood below, reporting to Xia Hong with a jubilant expression about the gains from last night.

”In the battle at Changbai Gully, 742 Longyou Army were killed, 221 captured, including three Cold Resistance Level men: Zhou Yuan, Li Yuanqing, Cheng He;

sets of war armor seized, 890 spears, 73 various Hundred Forged Level weapons including swords, and additionally two Thousand Forged Level broadswords, one Thousand Forged Level longsword, and ten iron carts with a carrying capacity of two million pounds, as well as 1290 Healing Pills;

Of course, the most important gain was those 800 newly forged sets of Hundred Forged Level armor;

In the battle at Ning Yuan Hill, 642 Blood Guard Army were killed, 142 captured, including two Cold Resistance Level: Hou Ming, Wang Lie;

sets of war armor seized, 754 broadswords, 30 various Hundred Forged Level weapons including swords, and additionally one Thousand Forged Level lance, one Thousand Forged Level broadsword, and 1742 Healing Pills.

Also, the four Cold Resistance Level captives Hou Tong, Hou Quan, Zhang Qingyuan, and Lu Yin caught personally by big brother, their weapons are all Thousand Forged Level, consisting of one long staff, two broadswords, and one longsword.”

As Xia Chuan’s words fell, the entire hall instantly fell silent, everyone’s breath became a little more intense.

Even Xia Hong couldn’t help but have a momentary daze in his gaze.

”No wonder, war is indeed the quickest way to seize resources!”

Not to mention anything else, just the Hundred Forged Level war armor and weapons seized tonight alone totaled over 1700 sets, even if Mu Dong leads all the craftsmen in the camp to forge day and night, it might take several years to produce such an amount, but now, it was all obtained in one night...

The previous shortage of war armor in the Cloud Dragon Army was not only solved, but the surplus can even arm another thousand-troop army.

”Unfortunately, the camp doesn’t have enough Earth-digging Realm Limit numbers, otherwise with these spoils, we could immediately arm another army, currently the only threat to us is the 3000 Longyou Army in Long Mountain, with another army, Great Xia would stand invincible, and if we can achieve another brilliant victory like tonight, swallowing Long Mountain whole might not be...”

Xia Chuan obviously had the same thought, but before he could finish his words, Xia Hong interrupted.

”Don’t be too optimistic, if we can defeat Zhaoyang, that would be good enough, Li Xuanling isn’t a fool, and Long Mountain has no shortage of talent, these two victories tonight, replicating them in the future is practically impossible.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Chuan and the other Cold Resistance Level men immediately became much clearer, after a moment of careful thinking, they all nodded lightly.

Tonight’s two victories seemed simple.

But in reality, it was timely intelligence from insiders; Long Mountain’s negligence; the ideal ambush locations of Changbai Gully and Ning Yuan Hill; Xia Hong personally suppressing Hou Hu, holding back a large batch of Cold Resistance Level from Long Mountain...

There were so many factors determining victory and defeat, any one of them could have changed the outcome significantly.

Moreover, neither Long Mountain nor Zhaoyang knew about the existence of the Cloud Dragon Army from the start, calculating with intent against a party unaware, Great Xia benefited greatly from this.

Now that Long Mountain knows of the Cloud Dragon Army’s existence, they naturally won’t be so foolish to fall for a trap again, so replicating the two victories tonight is definitely impossible.

”Cloud Dragon Army’s war armor has now found a solution, leave the spoils aside for now, the urgent matter ahead is to find a way to counter Long Mountain’s offensive, everyone, speak your thoughts!”

Upon hearing Xia Hong’s words, everyone bowed their heads, sinking into contemplation.

Given how badly Long Mountain suffered, it’s not hard to guess their next move.

”Leader, reinforcing troops is imperative, continue to transfer people from Xia City, though the 3000 Longyou Army are strong, if we can exploit Wushuang’s terrain advantage and have a large number of personnel, holding them off isn’t difficult, if Long Mountain insists on brute force, they will naturally retreat.”

Yuwen Dao’s proposal immediately received unanimous approval.

Xia Chuan also nodded, continuing: ”Excluding Wushuang, Xia City, along with the four posts of Jing Valley, Wuyuan, Beehive, and Hanqiong, the total number of Earth-digging Realm people is at least over ten thousand now, if all are transferred here, defending against Long Mountain is no issue, if they make the unwise choice to persist stubbornly, we might even have an opportunity to counterattack.”
