Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 495: Chapter 224: Cold Resistance Level Classification, Gains and Persuasion

”The total area of Longyou is about more than thirteen thousand square kilometers, over seventy years ago there were well over two hundred camps of various sizes, and at that time everyone’s strength was very weak, the range of activities was not large, and there was very little contact between them, but after Li Tianhua took over as the leader of Long Mountain, the situation changed...”

To the east of Long Mountain, the Blood Guard Army was slowly marching eastward, and Hou Hu was accompanying Xia Hong alone, narrating the history of Longyou to him.

”Li Tianhua not only had a high cultivation talent, by his twenties he already had the strength at the Earth-digging Realm Limit, his combat talent and hunting ability were also extremely impressive. What was even more commendable was that his talent for developing camps was not low either.

When he first became the leader, Long Mountain was still a medium-sized camp, with a population of just over one thousand. He relied on Long Mountain to continuously accommodate surrounding camps, and in just ten years, he developed Long Mountain into a large scale with ten thousand people and over a thousand at the Earth-digging Realm, boasting more than forty hunting teams...”

Mentioning Li Tianhua, there was both admiration and fear in Hou Hu’s eyes, indicating that his feelings toward this person were quite complex.

It’s not surprising, seeing as how he previously referred to Li Tiancheng as martial uncle, clearly indicating a mentor-disciple relationship with Li Tianhua.

But listening to Hou Hu recounting these legendary experiences of Li Tianhua, Xia Hong’s face feigned shock, yet the true feeling in his heart was quite peculiar.

Developing Long Mountain to a ten-thousand scale within ten years, with over a thousand at the Earth-digging Realm, is certainly strong in the context of the Ice Abyss.

But if compared to Great Xia, it seemed quite insignificant.

Of course, Xia Hong’s vanity did not reach that level, so he wouldn’t interrupt Hou Hu’s narration, but continued to listen, to see what Hou Hu intended to say.

”After the strength of Long Mountain greatly increased, either by favor or pressure, it began to accelerate the annexation of surrounding camps. Within a few short years, almost no other camps remained within a twenty-kilometer radius of Long Mountain. The population of Long Mountain also reached forty thousand. Li Tianhua had the Superior Battle Body, and when he broke through to the Cold Resistance Level, he already had the power of Eight-manes. At that time, he was unmatched, and all the human camps in Longyou were vying to join Long Mountain...”

Superior Battle Body, and broke through with power of six manes!

This statement stirred Xia Hong’s mind slightly, and he feigned shock, saying:

”Breaking through with the power of eight manes, wouldn’t the strength be even more astonishing when breaking through to the Intermediate and Late Stages?”

Hou Hu nodded and said, ”Of course, in the Cold Resistance Level, each breakthrough increases basic strength by double. According to Li Tianhua’s strength during his breakthrough, he had sixteen manes at the intermediate stage, thirty-two at the late stage, and when he broke through to the peak of the Cold Resistance Level, his strength was sixty-four manes. Not only in Longyou, but I estimate that it’s hard to find anyone in Pingxi Plain stronger than him in the Cold Resistance Level.”

This finally revealed to Xia Hong the power levels of the Cold Resistance Level.

Just breaking through the Cold Resistance Level counts as the early stage, with subsequent Intermediate, Late, and Peak stages, each breakthrough increasing basic strength once. According to Hou Hu’s words, the magnitude of increase is based on the basic strength at the time of breakthrough.

When he himself broke through, it was nine manes. Now it’s seventeen manes, meaning he’s only one mane away from the Intermediate Stage, and in the Late Stage he’ll have thirty-six manes, and when he breaks through to the Peak, his strength will reach seventy-two manes.

Eight manes stronger than Li Tianhua!

Hou Hu had the power of sixteen manes, at the Peak of the Cold Resistance Level; tracing back, he only had the power of two manes when he first broke through, also a Superior Battle Body.

Li Tiancheng’s strength is just slightly stronger than his, so at most it is just a Superior Battle Body.

Not only did he learn the power levels of the Cold Resistance Level, he also deduced the Battle Body Talent of Li Tiancheng and Hou Hu, and immediately Xia Hong’s mood improved greatly.

”All the human camps in Longyou wanted to join Long Mountain, and then?”

Upon hearing Xia Hong take the initiative to ask, Hou Hu immediately continued the storytelling:

”As I mentioned earlier, there were over two hundred camps in Longyou at that time, with a combined population nearing one hundred and fifty thousand. No matter how capable Li Tianhua was, he couldn’t sustain so many people, so he refused to allow other camps to merge and only agreed to gradually increase the population according to Long Mountain’s development.”

Xia Hong nodded slightly, understanding that Li Tianhua’s choice was very reasonable.

The nature of the Ice Abyss World determined that only those at the Earth-digging Realm, who possessed hunting ability, had a positive impact on camp development, otherwise, having more people would only be a burden.

But those at the Earth-digging Realm must be nurtured with beast meat and once they break through, their need for beast meat increases, and for cultivation beyond the Earth-digging Level, resource needs for beast meat and beast blood only step by step increase.

With limited resources, blindly expanding the population is not only useless but can have extremely negative impacts, at best dragging down camp development and at worst planting hidden dangers that could lead to camp collapse.

From the situation observed earlier, the total area of Long Mountain is definitely larger than Redwood Ridge, with Cold Beasts and other various resources, it must be extremely rich.

The problem is, no matter how rich the resources inside are, without sufficient strength, you can’t successfully acquire them; just like Great Xia, which is still continuously exploring Redwood Ridge, and if Xia Hong remembers correctly, by the time he went out, the Great Xia Hunting Team could penetrate only seven kilometers into Redwood Ridge.

And even then, only the stronger Intermediate Hunting Teams could go.

This is still with the existence of a system and the rapid development speed of Great Xia.

No matter how capable Li Tianhua was, he was equally subjected to the harsh limitations of the Ice Abyss environment, and it was most effective to consolidate and steadily improve the camp’s population and expand its influence based on resource acquisition capabilities.
