Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 364: Chapter 183: Population Explosion, Valley Planning_4

households, Xia Chuan frowned. The wooden building only had 740 rooms in total, which means, on average, eight households had to share one room, not to mention those orphans and single people without family registration.

Housing has become a problem again!

However, it’s not a big problem.

After pondering for a while, Xia Chuan’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he said:

”Last month when the leader gathered us for a meeting, I mentioned that rebuilding the wooden building was only meant as a contingency plan for emergencies, like the previous Cold Beast wave. We need a place to quickly gather everyone, with some defensive capabilities, so this wooden building wasn’t initially meant for living purposes.”

Hearing this, everyone was stunned. They remembered Xia Chuan had indeed said this last month at the meeting. But if it’s not for them to live in, then where would they stay?

”You probably have a rough idea of the Fiery Sun Tripod’s effect, right?”

Xia Chuan suddenly pointed at the Fiery Sun Tripod and asked.

Everyone looked at the Fiery Sun Tripod and nodded.

During this period, the radiation range of the Fiery Sun Tripod had been tested. It covered a range of one kilometer.

The valley where Great Xia was located was only about three or four hundred meters wide from north to south, and over fifteen hundred meters long from east to west. The Fiery Sun Tripod almost covered the whole area, even some areas on the outskirts were included.

”Once the new building is completed, it will no longer be divided as before. With 739 rooms, plus two temporary wooden huts, they will be evenly distributed to everyone. This means, apart from the leader, everyone else has to squeeze in together.”

Even counting the two temporary wooden huts, the new building would still require at least five or six households, maybe more. Five or six households meant nearly twenty people. Everyone instantly erupted upon hearing so many people had to squeeze into one room.

”So tight?”

”How can we live like this?”

”Twenty people squeezing into one room, that’s unbearable.”

...

Especially Yuan Cheng, who had been getting along well with Shi Lu recently, was looking forward to living together soon. How could they manage without a room?

He immediately stood up and asked, ”Sir, this won’t work, it’s too cramped, and it’s inconvenient for everyone, right?”

Everyone looked at his anxious expression, knew what was going on, and all lowered their heads, laughing.

Xia Chuan also chuckled a couple of times, but quickly waved his hand and said, ”Don’t worry, I already said the wooden building is for emergency use, not for you to live in. If you want to live, build it yourself!”

Build it themselves?

Hearing this, everyone was stunned but quickly reacted, their eyes shining.

Yes, with the Fiery Sun Tripod around, the temperature of the entire valley was not an issue; they could fully construct other buildings in the valley.

Building a house belonging to one’s own family?

Everyone’s expressions turned excited instantly.

Seeing everyone open their mouths wanting to ask questions, Xia Chuan immediately waved his hand, signaling them to calm down, and said with a smile, ”Hold on, I haven’t finished my words yet.”

The space in the valley is limited, it won’t work if everyone wants to build. So, not everyone gets the qualifications to build a house; also, how to build, what materials to use, and how big each person can make their house needs special planning and design, or else issues will keep popping up;

Moreover, you are all from the Earth-digging Realm, busy with your daily work, and can’t invest all your time in building houses. Construction materials, labor, and other supplies required revolve around how many Contribution Points it takes to exchange them, and need the Camp Supply Department and the Craftsmen Department to discuss together...”

Xia Chuan said a lot in one breath. Although everyone listened in confusion, their expressions still remained enthusiastic.

Very simply, the more than twenty present were considered core members of the Great Xia camp. Since Xia Chuan intended to push the housing policy, they, despite anything, would surely qualify.

Only Mu Dong and Qiu Peng listened most attentively, as the Craftsmen Department and Camp Supply Department were mentioned. As they listened more, they realized, Xia Chuan was clearly giving them tasks.

”That’s it for now, Mu Dong, Qiu Peng, discuss according to my thoughts, and after you have a plan, show it to me. Once approved, it can be published.”

”Yes, sir!”

”Yes, sir!”

Crowding was inevitable for some time. If one didn’t want to be crowded, they needed to spend Contribution Points to build their own house. Thinking of those early Hunting Team members who were always bragging about having more Contribution Points than they could use, Xia Chuan laughed secretly.

With this housing construction project, there was now another avenue to spend Contribution Points.

Additionally, with such a massive need for manpower and resources, the consumption was estimated to be quite significant!

Having resolved the housing issue, Xia Chuan breathed a slight sigh of relief, thinking about what Mu Dong and Cheng Feng had just told him, he promptly asked the two of them.

”By the way, Mu Dong, Cheng Feng, didn’t you say you had some new items to show to the leader? Did you bring them?”

Mu Dong nodded first and showed a trace of excitement on his face, clapping his hands.

Five people immediately walked into the main hall from outside, each carrying a tray.

Cheng Feng also looked spirited, taking out four bottles from his body.

Seeing the two about to speak, Xia Chuan quickly raised his hand: ”No need, I’ll take you to see the leader, besides...”

He looked towards the back at Shi Ping and said, ”You come too!”

Shi Ping heard this and his expression was shocked, immediately following with excitement.
