However, if I refuse now, it would be like telling the Night God that I want to kill him. He would certainly prepare to escape ahead of time, and there would be no chance to act directly. This guy is always watching him.

’Hesitating, are you?’

On the other side, the Night God was constantly observing Ye Mingqiu’s movements and expression changes. He also concluded that since the Blood Erosion Tyrant hesitates because of this, it indicates that he has a bottom line and won’t easily act against a friend he has agreed upon.

The Night God had seen many people like Ye Mingqiu before. People like this are very pure; once they agree to become friends, they most likely won’t act against them. This is his experience and wisdom.

’Since he hesitates, it means I can’t completely fulfill his needs. Perhaps there is something else he covets from me.’

Thinking of this, the Night God continued to smile and said, ”You probably have other wishes, right? As long as it’s within my ability, I will try my best to help you achieve them.”

”Alright.”

Ye Mingqiu raised his eyes, staring straight at the Night God with his scarlet sharp gaze, and asked, ”Are there other divinities like you in this world?”

”Yes.”

The Night God’s expression changed and said, ”In the previous era of the Black Moon, there was a divinity named Day God. Like me, he held Heavenly Authority, but in his era, the sky was an eternal day, with the Fiery Sun ever suspended in the sky.”

”What happened later?”

”Later, the Fiery Sun lost its light, turned into the Black Moon, and the world of eternal day became one of eternal night. Countless people died in the disaster of the era transition. The remaining people established a new order in the Eternal Night World, developing a brand-new civilization,” the Night God replied.

”What happened to the Day God?”

”Dead.”

”...”

Ye Mingqiu fell silent, the redness in his eyes gradually brightened, and his murderous intent rose accordingly.

”But that is the word on the street. Personally, I believe that becoming a divinity means you won’t easily die from disasters. Even if the world entered eternal night, he still wouldn’t have died,” the Night God continued.

”...”

Ye Mingqiu’s eyes’ redness gradually diminished and he asked, ”Do you have the confidence to find him? What is his current situation? Is his power still at its peak?”

”Somewhat confident.”

The Night God raised his head, his gaze fixed on the black night above the firmament, saying heavily, ”Did you notice? The form and nature of the Black Moon are changing at an incredible speed, the process completely contrary to the Fiery Sun’s transformation into the Black Moon, as if there is some existence reversing that process with some object.”

”You mean...”

”Exactly, the Day God is the root of the world’s anomaly. He gained power from outside the world, attempting to reverse the Black Moon back into the Fiery Sun, thereby returning to his former glory, even if it means sacrificing all existing civilizations,” said the Night God.

”...”

Ye Mingqiu also looked up, his eyes fixed on the Black Moon above, his brow furrowed.

Truth be told, his Perception Power of the moon’s forces was far inferior to the Night God’s, unable to determine if the Black Moon is indeed transforming into the Fiery Sun, and whether everything truly correlates with that Day God Effect.

However, one thing was certain: many Moon System beasts rioted, forming mad and violent beast tides. Through actual combat, Ye Mingqiu discovered that they were not entirely irrational, and still experienced fear.

Yet they still launched beast tides, attacking in the direction of Moon City, as if influenced by something, and the degree of influence was quite large.

Is it the Black Moon?

”Let me confirm a little.”

Ye Mingqiu said.

Then, he opened the temporary channel, where the benefits of having teammates became evident.

•- Temporary Channel -•

Divine Monarch: @Tian Qing, have you ever learned about the history of this world?

Tian Qing: Somewhat familiar.

Divine Monarch: Was there a more ancient era before the Eternal Night?

Tian Qing: Yes, the Era of Eternal Daylight, a time completely opposite to now, with the Fiery Sun forever suspended in the firmament, bearing its unique Fiery Sun civilization.

Tian Qing: But the Fiery Sun Life has an end, it gradually died, transforming into the current Black Moon, countless perished during the era transition; records of the prior civilization era are sparse.

Tian Qing: However, at the final stage, a hero named Xin ignited himself, turning into a blazing fire, extending the Fiery Sun’s dying moment considerably, thereby reducing the number of deaths during the era transition.

Divine Monarch: Is he the Day God?

Tian Qing: There is no textual record, but there are frescoes depicting Xin standing in the sky, radiating light, looking very much like a divinity. I lack verified evidence, but there is a possibility.

Sassos: Why do you think he’s asking about the Day God’s information?

Yalis: I have a bold idea.

Sassos: +1

Divine Monarch: Based on the intelligence so far, can you confirm the Black Moon is undergoing changes?

Tian Qing: Confirmed, the Black Moon’s nature indeed changed, which may be the root cause of monster outbursts creating beast tides.

Broken Star: Switching targets?

Divine Monarch: Maybe.

Yalis: Seems like my idea might be coming true.

Sassos: Poor Night God.

Tian Qing:

Broken Star: @Tian Qing, check recent tidal changes. I suspect the Black Moon is approaching, continuously drawing nearer to the ground.

Broken Star: I fought at Silent Sea before, and felt the sea’s waves differed entirely from what I learned from Moon City’s natives about Silent Sea. I suspect, the Black Moon’s change means it’s getting closer to the ground.

Broken Star: Don’t you think the Black Moon looks way too big?

Tian Qing: I’ll check.

Yalis: Is the Black Moon about to fall? An apocalyptic disaster, quite terrifying, is this an emergency summons? Feels a bit helpless...

Sassos: No need to look it up; I just checked the daily side quests, there is indeed a salvage quest, the reason being rising sea levels submerging coastal areas.

Tian Qing: You’re taking side quests?

Sassos: What else can I do? Can’t farm monsters like those three, can’t match your intelligence gathering ability. If I don’t look for side quests to grind scoring, what else can I do?

....

Closing the temporary channel, Ye Mingqiu looked at the Night God and said, ”Indeed, what you said is true, but the Black Moon’s change... seems closer to the ground. Have you heard of tidal effects?”

”No.”

”Illiterate.”

”....”

The Night God took several deep breaths, forcibly calming his mood, and said, ”Though I don’t know tidal effects, I’m not blind and can see the Black Moon growing larger. Once, the Black Moon occupied one-fifth of the sky, now it has expanded to one-third, indicating it is getting closer to the ground.”

”My friend says that at the final moment of the Era of Eternal Daylight, a man named Xin rushed towards the sky, prolonging the Fiery Sun’s end. Is he the Day God?” Ye Mingqiu asked.

”Exactly, so I suspect, soon, the Day God will descend from the Fiery Sun, coming to the ground with it, turning the world into an eternally silent wasteland,” the Night God said.

”It’s truly a disaster.”

Ye Mingqiu sighed, saying, ”I agreed to your request. Where’s the equipment?”

”Here.”

The Night God took out a pair of star-like, bright, dazzling earrings from the Storage Space and directly handed them to Ye Mingqiu’s palm, smiling and saying, ”Happy to be your friend, Blood Erosion Tyrant.”

”Mm.”

Ye Mingqiu accepted the earrings. During his contact with the Night God, he clearly felt the unnaturalness in the other’s actions.

Clearly, although the Night God considered his judgment not wrong, when it came to close contact with the Blood Erosion Tyrant, he still felt somewhat apprehensive and uneasy.

When Ye Mingqiu took the earrings, the Night God seemed relieved as if breathing out, feeling a lot lighter, displaying a radiant smile and saying, ”This equipment should be very suitable for you. See how it is; this is my long-cherished treasure.”

”Mm.”
