Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Black Armored General

In the Spirit Realm, when you kill units with templates, there’s a certain probability that treasure chests will drop. The drop rate of treasure chests is influenced by many factors, such as the disparity in strength between the enemy and us, the proportion of killing contribution, the importance of the enemy in the world, and the importance of the enemy in the missions, among other factors.

Overall, it’s hard to quantify.

And the enemies that Ye Mingqiu killed all had templates. Although ordinary soldiers are not very important in this world, they have strength in numbers, making them strong enough compared to Ye Mingqiu, who is a non-template unit. Furthermore, treasure chests from elite template units have a higher drop rate.

So Ye Mingqiu actually obtained quite a few treasure chests during the battles.

But the battles are too intense with high consumption, and the mental stress is enormous. He finds it hard to open treasure chests while fighting, for fear of getting shot in the head because of distraction. Hence, after activating automatic pickup, he didn’t bother anymore. (Automatic pickup only picks up treasure chests with 100% kill contribution)

The current harvest is... 167 Black Iron Treasure Chests and 26 Bronze Treasure Chests.

Open them all.

[Opening in bulk...]

[Congratulations, you have received: 1583 Spiritual Points]

[Congratulations, you have received: Bronze Ring]

[Congratulations, you have received: Wolf Fang Arrow]

[Congratulations, you have received: Blood Crystal Stone]

....

A variety of rewards directly flooded the screen, Ye Mingqiu was too lazy to take a closer look, and directly checked for equipment that could immediately boost his combat power.

[Bronze Ring]

Tier: Tier One

Quality: Bronze

Equipment Effect: Power +2, Agility +1, Spirit +3

[Blood Crystal Necklace]

Tier: Tier One

Quality: Bronze

Equipment Effect: Life +100

[Black Cloak]

Tier: Tier One

Quality: Black Iron

Equipment Effect: Agility +2

These are the usable equipment. Of course, this time when opening treasure chests, it’s not that he didn’t get armor, gauntlets, battle boots, and similar items, but the Bronze Armor is a set and its attributes are too powerful, making it completely unsuitable to replace them with scattered items. That’s why Ye Mingqiu didn’t consider replacing them.

Not to mention, just the 200 maximum Life Value is an unattainable peak for other scattered pieces, not to mention it also adds +5 to All Attributes with excellent Effect, which scattered Black Iron Level items can’t match.

So... Equip!

Bronze Ring, Black Cloak, Blood Crystal Necklace were instantly equipped, Ye Mingqiu felt the newfound power surging within, revealing a smile.

The toughest start is over, next, it’s time to sweep the battlefield!

Ye Mingqiu mentally reviewed. The fundamental reason he could fight to this extent is because, as a Spiritual Specialist, he possesses the Top Level Warrior Talent, has more Defense and Damage Reduction, which makes it hard for the enemy warriors to Break Defense, allowing him to charge continuously in battle.

In the same scenario, even if you replace him with a top-level Mage, they couldn’t reach the same extent, because if an arrow can break defense, a Mage would have to keep dodging arrows, or else they’d die after an arrow rain unless they run, even if not dead, being hit with poison arrows is quite troublesome.

Moreover, the number of enemies is too many, and the early stages Mage just doesn’t have enough Mana to kill so many people. Ye Mingqiu relied on his Talent’s Amplification to further enhance Spiritual Power Recovery Speed by using low-consumption Spiritual Power Enchantment combined with Unrivaled fighting. Essentially, he fought by normal attacks, not Skills.

....

Dusk like blood, Ye Mingqiu held the Bronze Spearhead aloft, aiming at the sea of Zhou Army, emanating waves of killing intent naturally.

A mounted Black Armored General charged out from the enemy ranks, with the Copper Halberd reflecting a blood-colored sunset, shouting: ”Your destiny is at an end, why not surrender early?”

Hmm? This guy isn’t simple!

Detection Skill!

[Chang (Level 1 Leader)]

[Race: Human]

[Attributes: Power: 15, Agility: 10, Constitution: 14, Spirit: 8]

Turns out to be a Leader Level BOSS, and this guy is riding a horse with a group of cavalry!

I, an infantry!

Surrounded by a group of cavalry!

And the leader is actually the Leader!

How am I supposed to fight this?

Ye Mingqiu was shocked, followed by Zhou Army’s war drums thundering, countless soldiers behind the Black Armored General rhythmically striking the ground with weapons, the sound like thunder crashing wave after wave, with impeccable momentum.

Detection Skill!

[War Drums Roaring: After the war drums sound, allied soldier’s morale skyrockets, increasing All Attributes by 10%]

There’s actually a group Buff?

This is on a completely different level from before!

Ye Mingqiu’s original pride vanished. Facing a Leader Level BOSS leading a charge of elite cavalry, few could maintain a good mindset.

If nothing goes wrong, the enemy’s attack intensity drastically increased because he was too fierce before, causing Zhou Army to determine there’s a fierce general in the city, thus needing to dispatch more troops to attack. The inhabitants of the Spirit Realm are not idiots or fixed NPCs, they too have independent consciousness, can think, and make judgments based on the situation.

”Damn!”

Ye Mingqiu bent down, staring hard at the vast army, his heartbeat quickened to the extreme, with cold sweat like beads sliding from the top of his head.

”Kill!”

The Black Armored General swung his Copper Halberd, and a large number of cavalry launched a charge. However, the actions of these cavalry were noticeably unnatural, unable to fully exert standard cavalry combat strength.

This is...

Ye Mingqiu quickly thought of the answer, realizing that the Shang Dynasty didn’t have saddles, stirrups, or high-bridged horse bits, leaving riders to rely only on squeezing the horse’s belly with their legs, making it hard to stabilize while wielding weapons in fast movement.

These cavalry using sheer strength to stabilize while attacking with weapons is already their limit, wanting complete free display is almost impossible.

So that’s it.

Ye Mingqiu’s heart calmed slightly. If it’s this kind of cavalry, they’re not indefensible.

But!

Such cavalry remain dangerous!

The thunderous war drums resounded, a large number of cavalry with unstoppable charge speeded towards him, wielding long weapons, launching attacks from high ground onto Ye Mingqiu.

Sounds of clashing Bronze persisted as Ye Mingqiu desperately dodged, yet he was still struck repeatedly by Battle Spears, leaving scars on his body.

These cavalry... are capable of Breaking his Defense!

”Kill!!”

Ye Mingqiu roared furiously, stabilizing his stance to forcibly withstand a powerful hit, under the Spiritual Power - Enchantment, the Bronze Battle Spear surged forth, and the spearhead swung upward, piercing through one cavalry’s chest, knocking them to the ground, and giving the war horse a hard slap on the hip.

The unmastered war horse shrieked in pain, running uncontrolled, rampaging everywhere, disrupting the originally orderly formation.

This era’s cavalry essentially doesn’t form a climate, merely fighting relying on the horse’s speed and power without a mature battle system.

”Robber, come forth with your life!!”

The Black Armored General fiercely squeezed the horse’s belly, the pitch-black war horse charged rapidly, rearing up before Ye Mingqiu, while the horse’s hooves stamped down, along with the Copper Halberd’s crescent-shaped arc falling together.
