The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1170: The Demon: the Overwhelming Power of Blood Card

Ohm!!

The sound reverberated across the land—deep, trembling, and unnatural.

Cities near the Involin Forest shook as the shockwaves rolled through them. Windows shattered. Groundstones cracked. The sky itself seemed to pulse with the rhythm of the power erupting from the forest.

There was no ignoring it. No one could.

”What’s happening in the Involin Forest?!”

”This energy fluctuation... it’s too strong!”

”This can’t be real!”

The voices of panic echoed through the streets as people rushed outside, staring toward the horizon where pillars of light flared within the dark sea of trees. Even from miles away, the oppressive energy pressed against their chests, making it hard to breathe.

The experts among them felt it first—the unmistakable clash of beings far beyond their reach. Their expressions hardened in fear and awe. ”Freedom Realm entities...” one whispered. ”They’re fighting in there.”

For the ordinary people, the sensation was unbearable. The sheer pressure made their knees buckle and their vision blur. Many began retreating inland, seeking shelter from an unseen catastrophe.

The air quaked. The ground trembled.

The entire region seemed on the verge of collapse as if the Involin Forest had become the heart of a storm that could swallow the world.

...

In the depths of the Involin Forest, the world trembled.

Souta’s vision flickered with light as translucent windows materialized before his eyes.

[Quest Triggered]!!

» [The Demon Army]

The Great Demon Emperor Lucifer has dispatched his legion to reclaim his daughter.

Objectives: Choose one

• Escape from the demons’ grasp — Reward: 3 Random Cards

• Eliminate all ten Freedom Realm demons — Reward: 40 Skill Points, 60 Free Attribute Points, 20,000,000,000 EXP, 1 Random Card

Souta’s eyes narrowed. ”So it’s that kind of quest...”

He didn’t hesitate. He already knew what he had to do.

A surge of crimson energy erupted from his body, shaking the forest floor beneath him.

Swoosh!!

One after another, runic patterns ignited across his skin as he activated his blessings—the Blessings of the Commanders of the Mechanic Country, followed by a cascade of others he’d earned long ago in the game. Each one layered over the next, their powers stacking and intertwining, forging a terrifying harmony of strength and precision.

The air grew heavy. The trees within miles around began to disintegrate under the mounting pressure.

The ten Freedom Realm demons flinched. For the first time, unease crossed their faces.

”What... what is he doing?!”

”Back away!! Surround him!! Don’t let him finish that!!”

Their auras exploded in unison, tearing the landscape apart. The ground split open, entire sections of forest ripped free and floated into the sky. The clash of elemental forces—fire, lightning, darkness, and chaos—turned the forest into a swirling battlefield of annihilation.

”Kill him!!” one of them roared, his voice echoing like thunder across the sky.

Souta raised his hand, calm amid the storm.

Flip.

Several intricate magic circles materialized beneath his feet, glowing with a light that defied reality. The symbols pulsed in rhythm with his heartbeat, feeding the growing storm of power surrounding him.

’The strength of Blood is added to my current power,’ Souta thought as his energy surged. ’This time... it’s far more powerful.’

Layers of crimson barriers shimmered into existence around him, glowing faintly against the encroaching darkness.

Then—

BOOM!!

The ten demons unleashed their might. Black liquid, lightning, flame, and chaos converged into a cataclysmic downpour that swallowed the land whole.

The barriers trembled—then shattered.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The world erupted. Explosions cascaded like thunder, shockwaves tearing through the earth. The entire Involin Forest was reduced to ruin—trees erased, mountains crushed, rivers turned to vapor. Spatial rifts split open across the sky, distorting the fabric of reality.

And through that storm...

Swoosh!!

A single figure burst from the core of destruction.

Souta.

His body was bloodied, scorched, and torn, but still he stood. The parasite within him writhed and pulsed, knitting flesh and muscle back together at an inhuman rate.

He raised his gaze, eyes glowing with crimson light. Then, he opened his hand.

A scythe materialized in his grip, its blade curved and black as void, exuding a killing aura so dense it made the air quiver.

The ten Freedom Realm demons faltered.

”H–He’s still standing?!”

”His regeneration again?!”

”Cut it down! Destroy his recovery!”

A female demon with vast, leathery wings—each one spanning five meters—shot forward in a blur. Her movements cracked the sound barrier as she appeared beside him, claws glinting like obsidian.

Souta twisted to evade, but her strike grazed his arm.

Blood splattered into the air and then instantly morphed into a volley of razor-sharp spikes.

The female demon sneered. One swing of her other hand—

Crash!!

The spikes shattered like glass, scattering harmlessly as her claws ripped through the air once more.

Souta kicked off the air, a shockwave rippling beneath his feet as he gained distance.

He glanced at his hand—the wound carved by the female demon still bled sluggishly, refusing to close.

What...?

’That demon slashed through your regeneration,’ Saya’s calm voice echoed in his mind. ’She disrupted the parasite’s function. It’s still healing you—but slower. Much slower.’

Souta clicked his tongue, crimson lightning crackling faintly across his shoulders. So she can cut down my regeneration...

Saya hesitated, feeling the sheer pressure radiating from him. She wanted to ask how he’d obtained such overwhelming power—but now wasn’t the time. Survival came first.

”Cutting regeneration, huh...” Souta muttered, narrowing his eyes as two more demons swept in from the flanks. Their wings tore through the air, their killing intent dense enough to make the sky shudder.

This was no ordinary ability. It touched on laws—on concepts—the kind of power that only beings close to divinity could wield.

Still, Souta’s mouth curved into a smirk. ”It’s not perfect... You can slow me down, but you can’t stop me.”

He lifted his hand.

A surge of darkness rippled outward as twenty shadows erupted from his body, each taking a fleeting form before collapsing back into him. The air distorted, heavy with power.

[Doppelganger Maxim]!!

The world trembled.

Each of his doppelgangers’ strength merged into his own, layer upon layer, until his aura exploded like a blood-red sun. The earth beneath shattered, and the remaining fragments of the Involin Forest disintegrated under the pressure.

This was a forbidden spell—one that multiplied his power beyond mortal limits, fusing every shadow of himself into a single, unstoppable force.

Souta’s eyes glowed with killing intent. ”Now... let’s see you demons cut this regeneration.”

With [Void Entanglement] and [Void Shrouding], Souta had once created dozens of forbidden spells and sublimated combat arts back in the game. Those arts were his true assets—tools that could twist the laws of battle itself and amplify his strength to godlike levels.

Now, he called upon them all.

[Supreme Shadow Colossus]!!

A towering silhouette of pure darkness rose behind him, its crimson eyes gleaming in the night.

[Nether Energy Enhancement]!!

[Obsidian Destruction Will]!!

[Ultimate Maximus Black]!!

[Never-ending Dark Curtain]!!

Each invocation tore through reality like thunderclaps. His aura spiraled upward, consuming the sky itself.

Every heartbeat birthed another forbidden spell—each one stacking upon the last until the forest could no longer withstand the pressure.

The ten Freedom Realm demons lunged together, their combined might capable of leveling continents.

But Souta was already gone.

Swoosh!!

Space twisted as his figure blurred and vanished.

With the [Orb of Arcane Seal], every spell he cast was doubled—each invocation echoing twice through the void, a reflection of power compounding upon itself.

The world dimmed.

Darkness spread outward, swallowing the land whole.

[Desperado Night Watch]!!

A suffocating night descended upon the battlefield. The demons strained their senses but the silence was broken by only a faint, slicing whisper.

Then...

Shuuk!

A streak of black light flickered across the air. The ten Freedom Realm demons turned, but their eyes could barely trace it.

Souta wasn’t targeting them.

He was slaughtering their army.

His figure zigzagged through the dark, moving faster than lightning—an executioner cloaked in night.

A single swing of his scythe cleaved through the ranks. Hundreds of demons were severed cleanly in half, their torsos disintegrating into dust before their legs hit the ground.

Another swing—another flash of red-black light—and the remaining fragments of their bodies vanished completely, devoured by the abyss.

The entire forest had turned into a silent massacre ground.

Only the hum of the void—and the echo of Souta’s heartbeat—remained.

There was no blood. No screams. No remnants of life.

Only silence.

The battlefield had become a void—cold and empty, as if reality itself had been erased.

Souta stood amidst it all, the air rippling faintly around him. Shadows clung to his form like living smoke.

Then, he moved.

A streak of black light tore through the air.

In the next instant, the remaining ranks of the demon army were gone. Vanished. Not a body, not a whisper of mana, not even dust remained.

In less than a breath, only ten figures hovered in the air.

The Freedom Realm demons.

Ohm!!

The energy around them twisted as they stared at Souta in disbelief, their instincts screaming danger.

”What is this?!”

”It’s impossible!!”

”Who are you?! You’re not the Blood Lightning Monster!!”

Their voices trembled. For the first time, these demons—beings who stood atop the mortal realm—felt true fear.

The thing before them... couldn’t possibly be a mere fourth stage monster.

It was something else.

Something that shouldn’t exist.
