All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 667: Chapter 667: Stay Out of Fairy Business (26)

”Big sister, Baozhu isn’t doing well recently. She’s been burning incense and bathing in the small Buddha hall daily, speaking to your statue. Do you feel anything?”

Xuan Shuang found it odd because Qiann Yan’s surprised expression meant she hadn’t yet received Baozhu’s call.

Big sister wholeheartedly focuses on cultivation and doesn’t engage in worship practices. It’s normal for mortal people not to worship her.

But this doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t know if someone revered her statue. As long as they’re a slightly qualified devotee, with big sister’s power, she can easily sense the words these believers say to the statue.

However, at present, big sister clearly looks surprised, and Xuan Shuang guessed a possibility. Baozhu, who initially seemed sincere, had never truly been devoted. If she earnestly wanted to worship big sister and repent, it would definitely not be in this situation.

”Big sister, didn’t you sense anything?”

Qiann Yan: ”No.”

Xuan Shuang paused for a moment, then added, ”It seems Baozhu is just putting on a show. Over these years, it’s become increasingly difficult to see through the surface. She used to mumble to herself bad-mouthing big sister and stabbing little dolls in effigy. She hasn’t done these things in years, and I thought she had truly repented.”

Baozhu’s insincere worship of the statue caused Xuan Shuang to be uninterested in asking Qiann Yan whether she wanted to visit Baozhu. Instead, she talked about Baozhu’s experiences over the years.

Baozhu’s character differs greatly from Yuling and Jiangg Yao’s; she’s an extremely proud and self-confident person, not considering herself inferior to anyone, not even to her greatly esteemed big sister.

She believed if she were Innate Spiritual Grass, she wouldn’t be worse than big sister.

This was the conclusion Xuan Shuang reached after years of observation, realizing that her eccentric sister had always secretly compared herself to big sister, even feeling quite envious.

Baozhu lived an impressive life; she wasn’t particularly fond of Beitang Schiyu. After Qiann Yan took her Spiritual Pearl away and confiscated her immortal power, she did suffer tremendously.

At first, Beitang Schiyu knew she was no longer powerful, growing increasingly impatient with her, regarding her as an ordinary inner courtyard lady.

The Princess Consort and the people in the mansion gradually saw her fall from favor and began targeting her, while Beitang Schiyu was busy with the struggle for the throne, leaving him no time to manage these matters.

She stumbled through numerous difficulties but had to admit that Baozhu was indeed much smarter than the others, quickly finding her place. Once life began to improve, she decided not to place her hopes on Beitang Schiyu.

Clearly, this ambitious man had always treated her as a tool.

Previously, she was a tool for seizing power; now, she’s a tool for amusement, and she needed to use her talents to find another wise leader.

After some time of observation, she chose another Prince with significant potential for the throne, who was also Beitang Schiyu’s rival. She actually saw that without her immortal power’s assistance, Beitang Schiyu struggled against his remaining brothers.

This is the primary reason she didn’t want to flatter Beitang Schiyu.

Baozhu orchestrated encounters with a certain Prince, sparking his compassion, while unintentionally revealing her talented side.

That Prince was astonished, thinking that Beitang Schiyu keeping such a woman confined in the inner courtyard was downright insulting. He didn’t have a lover’s mindset but saw Baozhu as someone who could be utilized.

Baozhu had never used the typical means of seduction with beauty; she didn’t want the other party to immediately associate her with being an amusement object.

Every time she appeared, she left him with one impression: she was wronged to remain in the inner courtyard.
