All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Correcting a Girl’s Unfortunate Life (13)

The textbooks in the small world’s Modern World are pretty much the same. In the previous world, Qiann Yan spent a lot of effort on studying, so dealing with high school courses is relatively easy.

The original owner didn’t demand the best grades; she chose to follow the teacher’s lessons and would accept whatever score she got.

With her foundation and photographic memory, it was estimated that it would be particularly hard for her to do poorly.

In this class, the original owner’s grades were considered above average, not outstanding, but not bad either.

In the first class, almost every subject teacher would say some off-topic things and wouldn’t immediately start teaching from the textbook.

After the teacher bragged for half a class, they finally let the students open their books and told them to study on their own, with the real lessons starting in the next class.

Qiann Yan did as told and started browsing through the book.

She quickly reviewed the content to be covered in the next class and inadvertently glanced sideways, noticing that her deskmate was a bit strange.

Wuh Huai was forcefully holding open his eyelids, as if forcing himself to stare at the book, not only reading but also mumbling softly, like a buzzing mosquito.

At first, Qiann Yan thought this was Wuh Huai’s study method, but she was doubtful. He hadn’t been distracted in class and was reading seriously, so how could he score only eighteen in his best subject?

”Bang——”

While Qiann Yan was lost in thought, she heard a sound and felt the desk shake, quickly looking towards Wuh Huai’s spot.

She saw him rubbing his forehead in frustration, continuing to hold open his eyelids and read softly.

Qiann Yan didn’t look away this time. It was clear that he was putting in a lot of effort to study. What was that ”bang” sound about?

What followed made her understand.

While Wuh Huai was reading and mumbling softly, for some reason, the content of the book seemed hypnotic, and he fell forward onto the desk.

Qiann Yan reacted quickly, grabbing his collar so he didn’t fall onto the desk.

Wuh Huai blinked, looking at the desk that was almost touching his face, and realized it was Qiann Yan who caught his collar. He sat up straight and, feeling a bit embarrassed, said softly, ”Thanks.”

Wuh Huai continued reading while Qiann Yan observed.

Every time he read about five sentences, he would likely fall asleep, nodding off. She would casually grab his collar to prevent Wuh Huai from getting a bruise on his forehead today.

”Maybe you need to use the ’hanging beam and stabbing thigh’ method,” Qiann Yan seriously suggested.

Wuh Huai: ”...”

The serious look of his deskmate made it hard for him to tell if she was mocking him or actually giving advice.

Recalling that she helped him several times, he thought maybe she was giving advice.

Wuh Huai: ”I’ve tried, but I still fall asleep.”

Qiann Yan: ”...”

Then there’s no saving you.

Wuh Huai looked at the book on the desk and sighed. He really wanted to study hard and get good scores, but after reading three to five lines, he would definitely doze off.

This only happened when he was reading a book. If he wasn’t reading, it wouldn’t happen.

Seeing that Qiann Yan was ignoring him, he felt that his image had fallen into an abyss with his new deskmate, which made him a bit unhappy.

”Do you believe that I used to have excellent grades?”

Qiann Yan turned her head: ”How so?”

”I was the smartest among my peers since I was young, always maintaining the top rank in elementary school, and held the top rank in my grade in junior high first year...” Wuh Huai’s expression turned awkward, ”Then I couldn’t remember the textbook content anymore, and felt sleepy whenever I read.”
