A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Chapter 781: Chapter 781: No More Favoring Others

As a result, lunch was delayed. Zhao Junyao had someone send a message, saying there was no need to wait for him.

Xia Ruqing pouted. ”If we’re not waiting, then we’re not waiting!”

After speaking, she picked through the large spread of delicious food, tasting the best dishes. Then she had all the remaining dishes given to the servants. Only after watching them finish eating did she begin to feel happy.

「In the afternoon.」

She slept until dusk.

When she woke up, well-rested, her cheeks were rosy. Lying in bed, stretching lazily, she hugged the blanket and asked, her eyes squinted, ”Is the Emperor back yet?”

Zi Su looked a little worried. ”Sigh! My lady, didn’t you say you didn’t want the Emperor to come? Could it be that the Emperor realized it? Anyway, He hasn’t visited all day today! He has been reading in the study all day!”

Xia Ruqing was a bit confused. ”When did I not want him to come?”

No sooner had she spoken than she heard a chorus of greetings from outside. Soon after, Zhao Junyao’s voice carried in. ”Who would have thought that after just a day apart, Qingqing would miss Us so much! My heart truly feels as if it has found the warm winter sun on a snowy day!”

Xia Ruqing hurried to get up. ”Your Majesty!”

”Greetings, Your Majesty!”

Zhao Junyao raised his hand. ”It’s fine, all rise.” He then stepped forward and lifted Xia Ruqing up. Lowering his head, he noticed she was barefoot. His expression immediately darkened, and he said sternly, ”When will you change this habit! Does she even care about her health?

””Your Majesty! Your concubine knows her mistake!”

Zhao Junyao couldn’t be bothered with her. After all, she was always admitting her mistakes while continuing to make them, so saying anything was useless—better not to say anything at all.

Zhao Junyao took her hand and sat her down on a chair. He then noticed a large vase on the table with plum blossoms arranged in it. Underneath it, an unfinished painting lay on the paper. Zhao Junyao became interested and, taking Xia Ruqing’s hand, guided her to complete the painting little by little. This process took a full half Shi Chen.

After the painting was completed, Li Shengan could no longer wait. ”Your Majesty, it’s time for dinner!”

Zhao Junyao then rose, leaving Xia Ruqing alone to stare at the painting in her hands.

She saw, within a sea of plum blossoms as red as fire, a man and a woman. The man wore a dark cloak, while the woman was in a white robe. Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, they stood in a pavilion, enjoying tea and admiring the blossoms. Although their faces weren’t visible, she could still tell the painting was of them. In the blank space beside them was a short poem he had composed himself. The couplets were well-matched, the artistic conception beautiful. The words were somewhat direct, and even... somewhat explicit.

Xia Ruqing’s cheeks burned red. ”Your Majesty! You really are...”

Zhao Junyao glanced back. ”Qingqing... is My painting not beautiful enough?”

Xia Ruqing quickly shook her head. ”It’s beautiful...”

Her words were barely out when he stepped forward and embraced her. His thin lips were burning hot, his palms scorching, and his breath was somewhat enticing. ”Qingqing, I can’t wait any longer...”

Xia Ruqing was startled. This was simply...

Before she had a chance to be astonished, he kissed her the next second.

If yesterday’s kiss was a storm, then this one was a gentle drizzle. Seemingly light, yet it was deep; tender, lingering, sweet, and long-lasting.

Halfway through the kiss, she was already dizzy. ”Your Majesty... I... I haven’t had dinner yet.”

Zhao Junyao’s eyes were crimson, his voice almost trembling. ”I will be gentle. I have been like a monk for more than a year now, and I don’t want to continue being one!”

Xia Ruqing regained some clarity from her dizziness. ”Ah? More than a year? Emperor... haven’t you... always summoned concubines?”

”No, I have not!”

He became somewhat rough. While kissing her, he took her hand and placed it on his already proudly erect junior. ”Qingqing, you’re like an enchantress, as if you’ve cast a spell! It now... recognizes only you! Nothing else will do!”

Xia Ruqing was completely flabbergasted. Her heart surged, burning hot. He hasn’t been with anyone else! He hasn’t been with anyone else! He really had abstained for more than a year; at least for this past year, he has been chaste. He’s the Emperor, after all!

Her heart felt sweet, her body hot, and at this moment, she was somewhat willing. She took the initiative to kiss him! ”Emperor...”

Zhao Junyao could no longer hold back. With a sweep of his hand, the bed-curtains fell, and the pair of mandarin ducks inside entwined their necks, intimately inseparable.

Outside, Li Shengan was sweating profusely. ”They still haven’t had their evening meal!”

To this, Zhao Junyao’s sentiment was clear: Beauty is a feast, and a beautiful woman is delectable. Who needs dinner!

...

That night, he was indeed very gentle. Unlike the previous tearing intensity and body-wracking tremors, this time, Xia Ruqing felt as if she were being slowly nourished by a silent spring rain: peaceful, gentle, lingering, and dazzling. His movements were as soft as a gentle breeze and fine rain. She kissed him with closed eyes, deeply attached.

It turned out... when he was gentle, he was even more enticing.

Under his meticulous care, she reached her peak. Zhao Junyao carefully controlled himself and also finished much quicker than usual. After half an hour, the two had bathed and changed clothes.

Xia Ruqing’s cheeks were flushed as she nestled in his arms. Playing with his hair, her face still red, she said, ”Emperor, the Imperial Physician said it wasn’t allowed. How could you...?”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Junyao felt a pang of regret. Yes, the Imperial Physician had said half a year. How had I... not held back? But I’m a man; I really couldn’t hold back anymore.

”Qingqing, I’m sorry!”

Xia Ruqing looked up again. ”I still have something to ask!”

”What is it?”

After hesitating for a moment, Xia Ruqing asked, ”Didn’t you summon several concubines? Why would it... still be like this?”

Zhao Junyao looked somewhat aggrieved. ”Qingqing, I’ve already told you, it recognizes only you now!”

Xia Ruqing glanced at his groin, pondered for a moment, and then smirked slyly. ”So that’s how it is!”

After speaking, she leaned down gently. Zhao Junyao tensed up in excitement, quickly adjusting his position so Qingqing could reach more easily. Then his mind began to wander to some naughty thoughts.

However, after bending down, Xia Ruqing bit down hard on his chest. Then she bit with all her strength. Only a muffled groan was heard from Zhao Junyao, his face showing great pain. ”Qingqing, what are you doing?” His body contorted slightly from the pain.

Finally, Xia Ruqing let go. Inspecting her teeth marks as if looking at a precious gift, she proudly declared, ”This is a mark! With this mark, from now on, you’ll belong only to me!” After saying that, she examined it from left and right, looking very satisfied.

Zhao Junyao felt somewhat helpless. The way women think! However, he was very cooperative and said, ”Alright, from now on I will belong only to you, is that acceptable?”

”How could that be right? There are still all the common people of the world!”

Zhao Junyao laughed at this. ”You!” Saying this, he hugged her and said softly, ”Don’t worry, from now on I will not favor other women, alright?”
