A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Chapter 563: Chapter 563: Give Me A Daughter

Xia Ruqing: ”...”

Last time? Which time was the last time? She had no memory of it at all! She had been making this grape wine for more than two years, storing it away, and rarely thought about it. It had only been brought out a few times during the holidays to drink. She had also given some to Xiao Xizi and the others. Over time, this was all that remained. Unexpectedly, the Emperor guessed it right away. He actually remembered the grape wine she made! Could his memory be any more unbelievable?! Completely defeated, she conceded!

Xia Ruqing felt a bit bored and pouted as she opened the clay jar and poured him a cup. ”There’s only this much left!”

Zhao Junyao found it a little amusing. He took a sip from the cup, squinted to savor it, and then smiled, saying, ”The wine now is much better than it was over two years ago. After all... only by treasuring it can you get good wine!”

Xia Ruqing’s eyes lit up. ”Really? It’s good?”

”But... it’s gone! There’s only this much left!”

Zhao Junyao pulled her into his embrace in one swift motion. ”If it’s gone, Qingqing, you can just brew some more!”

”Besides... I think... the person from two years later is much more delightful than the one from two years ago!”

As he spoke, he kissed her neck, leaving her breathless. With that kiss, Xia Ruqing’s heart was in turmoil.

”Emperor!” Her voice trembled.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her flushed face in his chest. ”Emperor, we haven’t finished eating yet!”

The table was laid out with a feast, and aside from Zhao Junyao’s favorite noodles which were gone, nothing else had been touched. Xia Ruqing herself hadn’t eaten much either.

Zhao Junyao’s lips curled into a wickedly charming smile. ”Having you is enough for me!”

With that, he carried her towards the bathroom!

Xia Ruqing’s face burned red. Her arms clung tighter around him. Her resolve utterly failing. Without even trying to flirt, she was already like this because of her incredibly handsome Emperor husband?! Utterly embarrassing! She was losing face for the modern women of the 21st century! Ah, but wait, this was ancient times! Could the same standards even apply here?

As her thoughts raced, they arrived at the bath. The bathtub was filled with hot water, prepared in advance. It just needed more hot water added when ready to adjust the temperature. This task had long been monopolized by Li Shengan.

So, without even removing her clothes, Xia Ruqing was directly placed into the bathtub by Zhao Junyao.

”Emperor... my clothes!” Xia Ruqing exclaimed.

Zhao Junyao smiled mischievously. ”I’ll take them off for you!”

As he spoke, he shed his own clothes and stepped into the bathtub as well.

”AH!”

”AH! Emperor!”

”Emper... Emperor...”

Xia Ruqing’s voice was too sultry for words, stirring Zhao Junyao’s passions.

The scene, well, it’s indescribable!

「...」

Little Bun toddled after Little White, emerging unsteadily from his room. He saw that the place where his Imperial Father and Mother Consort had been sitting was now empty, though the food on the table had yet to be cleared.

The little fellow was quite puzzled. Where had Imperial Father and Mother Consort gone?

Waddling on his little legs, he searched here and there. His small, tender body and fair cheeks made him look like a walking bun.

”Little Ancestor, please slow down!” Sister Liang followed the Little Prince’s erratic steps, earnestly advising from behind.

”Little Master, where are you going?”

Little Bun seemed to understand and pointed at the dining table, then towards the bedroom. His large eyes seemed to say, ”I want to find my Mother Consort!”

Sister Liang, having experienced much and having been at Qingya Residence for so long, naturally understood the situation. So she tried to persuade him, ”Little Prince, the Emperor and your Mother Consort have gone to bathe and change their clothes. They will be back soon. Please wait here for a moment!”

Little Bun did not believe her and looked at Sister Liang with disdain.

’Bathe and change clothes?’

’Do you bathe and change your clothes in the middle of eating?’

’Pah! No one can fool him!’

After his internal rant, he had a wicked thought, ’Imperial Father and Mother Consort must have gone to make a little sister for me! Heh heh...’

With that thought, he stopped searching and obediently returned to his side room to continue playing with Little White. After playing for a short while, he fell asleep with Little White in his arms.

Sister Liang couldn’t help but feel surprised. ”The Little Prince is so obedient today?”

No crying or fussing. After eating and drinking his fill, he played for a while and then went to sleep on his own. It was simply unbelievable!

But Sister Huang didn’t think it was strange. ”The Little Prince has always been sensible; he will become even more so in the future!”

Sister Liang thought about it and agreed, so she stopped doubting.

「...」

That night, Xia Ruqing felt like her whole body was falling apart. After leaving the bathhouse and reaching the bedroom, Zhao Junyao was still not done.

Xia Ruqing was on the verge of tears. She regretted letting him drink. This man was irrational after drinking. Look at him, like a starving wolf. It’s as if he hadn’t seen a woman in eight lifetimes, yet he clearly had so many women!

”Emperor... Emperor!”

Zhao Junyao was fiercely advancing on her, like an old general on the battlefield, bloodthirsty from slaughter. He couldn’t hear any words at all!

It was unclear how long it went on, but Xia Ruqing finally fell into a deep sleep.

Zhao Junyao, after toiling for most of the night, eventually found release.

At this time, heavy snow began to fall outside. He called for water, washed, and then lay down peacefully, holding her.

Her sleeping face looked very serene, her breathing steady, stirring ripples in his heart.

”Qingqing...” He smoothed the wisps of hair from her forehead.

”Would you bear me a daughter?”

Although he already had three daughters. The Eldest Princess was dull, the Second Princess adorable, and the Third Princess petite.

No matter what, they were his daughters, and he loved them all.

But none of them were born to her.

He wanted one, a daughter with eyes as bright as hers.

Her eyes like hers, her nose like his own, and her mouth... also like hers; she was beautiful. In the end, she would also have long, black hair like hers. When she turned four, he would read poetry to her. At six, he would find her a study partner or take her out of the palace to ride a pony. At the age of eight, a young lady, perhaps she could learn music, chess, calligraphy, and painting? It wouldn’t matter if she didn’t like them; a princess of the Royal Family naturally needed the bearing of the Royal Family. Whatever she liked was fine. He would protect her for a lifetime! He wouldn’t let her suffer the same hardships her mother had endured. As long as she wished, he would let her be carefree forever. Yes, that would be it!

Zhao Junyao was filled with anticipation. A daughter? When would she come? He must try harder!

The sleeping Xia Ruqing was entirely unaware of what Zhao Junyao had been thinking all that night.

Regardless, the next day, she stayed in bed, and he did too.

Heavy snow had fallen for half the night, and it was now ankle-deep.

”Hot pot...” Xia Ruqing murmured, looking out the window.

Zhao Junyao: ”...”

Qingqing... Can’t we just properly enjoy the snow, admire the flowers, write, and drink tea?
