A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Chapter 265: Chapter 264: Playing and Despair

Now, she could only survive by throwing herself at the mercy of a Little Eunuch?

Although this was a great sin and extremely humiliating, being humiliated was better than dying. She did not want to die. She absolutely refused to die. Thinking this, her hand grasped her sleeve tightly. The will to live made her disregard everything.

「Lunch」

The meal that Xiao Chengzi brought back was very sumptuous. There were two main dishes, the likes of which she had not seen for a long time, along with a whole bowl of white rice. There was also an entire roasted chicken, with several big white steamed buns on the side.

Honored Lady Hu was astonished.

”What is this...”

It had been so long since she had eaten a complete meal. It had always been leftovers from others. If she could normally have a chicken head, chicken feet, or chicken tail to satisfy her craving, it would have been good enough. Where would she get such a meal! Several steamed buns, an entire roasted chicken, and fine dishes too.

”How is this possible? How could they possibly give this to me!”

Xiao Chengzi’s expression was dark and unclear.

”The people in the Imperial Kitchen said this is by order of the Noble Consort!”

Honored Lady Hu’s eyes went wide.

”The Noble Consort?!”

She was in the Cold Palace because she had plotted against the Noble Consort. She was fortunate enough that the Consort didn’t kill her; how could this be possible? Such fine food, it just couldn’t be possible!

Xiao Chengzi then said, ”Since it’s been given, just eat it!”

After saying this, he handed the chopsticks to Honored Lady Hu.

Honored Lady Hu discarded them as if they were burning hot.

”I... I won’t eat! I won’t eat!”

The food might be poisoned! If she ate it, she might never live again.

”I don’t want to die, I don’t want to die!”

Xiao Chengzi frowned.

”The Noble Consort has ordered that you must eat even if you don’t want to!”

What could he do? He didn’t want her to die, but there was no other way.

Honored Lady Hu suddenly looked at him, fury in her eyes.

”You...”

”I let you ruin my reputation so that I could live, and now that you’ve achieved your goal, you want to kill me?”

Xiao Chengzi sneered contemptuously.

”Don’t say it like that, Honored Lady Hu. We both consented! It was a simple exchange of needs!”

Honored Lady Hu had no money, nothing to bribe with; she could only risk her body. As for him, if he couldn’t receive bribes, preying on women was also acceptable!

Honored Lady Hu’s eyes blazed with rage.

”You’re despicable!”

Xiao Chengzi gave a sinister smile.

”My lady, if you don’t eat, this servant will be in trouble!”

With that, he suddenly pulled out a rope from his bosom and pounced forward, pinning Honored Lady Hu to the ground. Then he quickly tied her up.

”A rope! Where did you get a rope? You were prepared?!”

Xiao Chengzi smiled.

”If I didn’t prepare early, how could I catch you?”

”The Noble Consort has rewarded me with a sum of silver taels. From now on, I am her man!”

Honored Lady Hu was tightly bound, a look of despair on her face.

”You’re despicable!”

Xiao Chengzi gave a dark smile.

”I’m despicable? Hahaha...”

”Honored Lady Hu, you’re still too naïve!”

”How can you survive in this Harem without being despicable?”

At first, he had served the Empress, planting Fuzi Powder on the Noble Consort’s clothing. He had done a good job, but it was eventually discovered. The Empress immediately turned her back and denied knowing him. Not only did she not save him, but she also had him dumped into the Cold Palace, a dark and hopeless place. With just a little torture, he feared both master and servant involved would lose their lives. Then, the Empress would be seen as pure and innocent again, her position unshakable. Xiao Chengzi felt he had risked his life, only to end up like this; he was deeply resentful. A resentment just like Honored Lady Hu’s.

Honored Lady Hu was tightly tied to the pillar, unable to move her hands or feet.

”Were you thinking of defecting to the Noble Consort for a long time?”

”You... what are you going to do to me?”

Xiao Chengzi sneered coldly.

”The Noble Consort has given orders for me to ensure that you eat all of this, and I must obey!”

After saying that, he grabbed her chin with one hand. The other hand picked up food and stuffed it into her mouth.

Honored Lady Hu’s cheeks were pinched, preventing her from spitting anything out, and she could only keep swallowing.

”I... don’t... eat!”

”I... COUGH COUGH... I don’t want... to die!”

Xiao Chengzi gave a laugh as dark as hell itself.

”You have to eat even if you don’t want to! The Noble Consort didn’t really want you to die!”

Honored Lady Hu wasn’t listening at all! Her mouth was stuffed full of food, and muffled cries escaped her.

He had forced down more than half the dishes on the table before he finally stopped, only when she was so full she couldn’t be fed anymore and her eyes started to roll back.

He untied the ropes.

Honored Lady Hu fell to the ground, and Xiao Chengzi paid her no mind.

Honored Lady Hu just lay there, silently waiting for death.

But as she waited from dawn until dusk, she didn’t die. Moreover, she was alive and well.

So, she picked herself up and went to lie down on the bed.

After dark, Xiao Chengzi went to the Imperial Kitchen to fetch the meals. He encountered Gao Changyi.

He wore an obsequious smile.

”Eunuch Gao, will we stuff her again tonight?”

Gao Changyi’s eyebrows raised.

”Of course!”

Having said that, he instructed the Imperial Kitchen to send several good dishes to the Cold Palace.

”The Noble Consort is bestowing these, take them back with you!”

Xiao Chengzi replied with a fawning smile.

”Yes! I’ll follow all of Eunuch Gao’s orders!”

Gao Changyi then smiled.

”Good boy, you know what’s good for you!”

”Go on, if you do well, the Noble Consort will reward you handsomely!”

Xiao Chengzi’s face lit up with surprise.

”Yes!”

That night, Honored Lady Hu was again forced to eat a stomach full of dishes. Although they were fine dishes, they were also a bit rich. After eating, she vomited quite a bit, but still, she had consumed more than she vomited.

This situation continued for several days.

Ying Yue was very puzzled.

”Your Highness, Honored Lady Hu almost harmed you, how can you still...”

Noble Concubine Shih’s eyes and brows lifted.

”Is this palace showing kindness now? Is that it?”

Ying Yue nodded.

Noble Concubine Shih smiled.

”This palace just doesn’t want her to die, that’s all!”

”She must be on the verge of being tormented to death. Letting her have a few good meals will nourish her body. I can’t have her dying before I’ve even begun to enjoy my revenge!”

Ying Yue: ”...”

Perhaps Her Highness is... Simply bored.

「Indeed, by mid-February,」

Honored Lady Hu, having eaten so well for several days, not only hadn’t died but had also gained two pounds. Xiao Chengzi no longer needed to feed her; when the meals were brought, she ate them herself. When she was in a good mood, she even called Xiao Chengzi to eat with her.

There was no choice. He was the only eunuch around, and her survival depended on him.

Honored Lady Hu dared not neglect him, much less hold a grudge.

Xiao Chengzi was quite pleased.

”It’s good you’re sensible. The Noble Consort never actually wanted to kill you!”

He sneered inwardly. She didn’t want to kill you, but tormenting you is non-negotiable!

Honored Lady Hu offered an ingratiating smile and said nothing. After eating, she went to rest.

However, all good days come to an end.

After mid-February, the quality of the meals suddenly declined.

”What’s this today?”

Xiao Chengzi lazily tossed the food box onto the table, not even bothering to open it.

”What else? We’re just in the Cold Palace; good days don’t last a lifetime!”

He then impatiently added, ”Eat quickly, I’m waiting to take it back!”

Honored Lady Hu looked into the food box. It was a pile of leftovers, the same kind she had eaten a long time ago.

”You...”

Xiao Chengzi rolled his eyes.

”It’s not that I won’t help, it’s that the Noble Consort won’t allow it!”
