A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Chapter 240: Chapter 239: Chop Off His Arm for Me

”The rest of you, twenty people per team, encircle from all four directions, and the remaining ten block the back door exit!”

”Yes!”

The team, well-trained, sprang into action.

After Xia Tingfeng checked the position of his dagger again, he led his men to the gambling den.

As soon as they entered, they were watched. But it didn’t matter—it was the den’s own lookout. Xia Tingfeng’s gaze swept around, finally resting on the biggest gambling table. He slowly approached and saw a person on each side of the table, both puffing on pipes and cloaked in smoke.

Two men... Both looked like old hands. Which one could it be?

He quickly found his answer from the shouts around him.

”Second Master Fan!”

Fan Changsheng, wasn’t he the second son of the Fan Family? The corner of Xia Tingfeng’s mouth curved as he eyed him closely.

The man was nearly thirty, of average looks, not very tall, and a bit lean. His forehead was dark, with eyes as small as mung beans. He wore a black robe, with a dazzling Jade Ring on his thumb. His hands bore calluses, suggesting constant martial practice.

Fan Changsheng shook the dice cup wildly in the air before slamming it down. The people around him were as excited as if injected with chicken blood.

”Small! Small!!”

”Small! I bet small!”

Pride filled Fan Changsheng’s not-so-large eyes. With a smirk, he looked at his opponent across the table and gave a chilling smile, ”What about you?”

The opponent, a man in blue clothes with a broad chest and a bearded jaw, also looked like no good! After pondering for a moment, he slammed a Silver Note onto the table.

”I bet small!”

”Bravo!”

Fan Changsheng opened the dice cup at once.

”It’s big!”

”Won! We’ve won!”

”Ah...”

The crowd reacted with joy and disappointment.

The man in blue looked somewhat dismayed and raised his hand to leave.

”No more playing for me!”

Fan Changsheng was displeased and stood up abruptly. ”What do you mean? I, Second Master Fan, am not yet amused, and you want to leave?”

His voice was domineering and arrogantly proud. The low-ranking crowd didn’t even dare breathe. And when he pounded the table, a bunch of people instantly crowded around him. There were about twenty or thirty of them.

The man in blue nearly wet himself. ”Se... Second Master, I... I truly have no more Silver!”

Fan Changsheng’s expression was one of rampant arrogance. ”No Silver, you can use yourself as collateral!”

”An arm, and Second Master will play three rounds with you!”

”A leg! And I’ll play five rounds with you!”

”How about it?”

The man in blue was so frightened he almost knelt. ”Second Master! I...”

The man in blue wept and said a lot of things.

Xia Tingfeng, with a blade of grass in his mouth, looked on with disdain. ”Bullshit, turns out he’s a coward!”

Having said that, he stepped forward, kicked the man in blue aside, and spat out the grass from his mouth.

”I’ll play with you!”

Second Master Fan raised his eyes, looking at him with scorn. ”You?”

After sizing him up, Second Master Fan laughed. ”Do you have the Silver?”

”Just bet an arm!”

The two said almost in unison.

”Fine!”

Fan Changsheng flicked his robe and sat back down, his mung bean eyes glittering with excitement! ”I like fellows like you!”

”If you amuse me today, even if you lose an arm, I’ll still acknowledge you as a friend!”

Fan Changsheng rarely met someone so perfectly in tune with his own vile tastes.

Xia Tingfeng ignored him, casually picking up the dice and the dice cup to give them a quick look. After inspecting, he flicked with his finger, sending them to his opponent.

”You go first!”

Fan Changsheng flicked them back. ”I’ll let you have the first turn. You go first!”

Xia Tingfeng looked up and eyed him. ”Are you sure?”

”Of course, that’s a must!”

”Hurry up, I can’t wait any longer!”

Xia Tingfeng smiled slightly and began to shake the dice cup. After a moment, the dice cup was set down.

Fan Changsheng slapped the table. ”I bet on big!”

”Anyone following my bet?”

The people around hesitated for a moment, then each pulled out their Silver.

”Bet!”

”Bet big!”

As the leader among the street thugs, Fan Changsheng received flattery wherever he went.

Xia Tingfeng smiled again. ”You bet big, so I’ll bet small!”

Having said that, he immediately opened the cup.

”One, two, three points, it’s small! Congratulations...”

”What’s your honorable surname, young master?” the casino’s Gambling Official asked obsequiously.

Xia Tingfeng couldn’t be bothered to respond and glanced at Fan Changsheng. ”Second Master, a bet is a bet!”

Fan Changsheng, who had roamed the jianghu for many years, visiting brothels and gambling houses, rarely met his match. But now...

”I don’t believe it, let’s go again!”

Xia Tingfeng sneered and played another round. ”You’ve lost again, Second Master...”

In the following half of a Shi Chen, Second Master Fan lost a total of twenty-four rounds. The thousands of Silver he carried were completely lost.

As he insisted on going again, Xia Tingfeng asked contemptuously, ”What are you betting?”

Second Master Fan looked around and found no Silver, then bellowed, ”I bet an arm!”

”Fine!”

The situation flipped, and Xia Tingfeng grinned like a triumphant wolf. The dice cup spun again as if the heavens and earth were whirling.

Within less than a quarter of an hour, Fan Changsheng lost three more rounds.

”You’ve lost three rounds, an arm!”

Fan Changsheng had been raised high since birth and had never encountered such a sordid affair. An arm? Out of the question. Street thugs didn’t give a damn about integrity.

”I never said whose arm it was, brothers, get him!”

”Chop off his arm and feed it to the dogs!”

”Let’s see how you play dice after that!”

After saying that with a malicious smile, his already unattractive face instantly turned as revolting as a toad.

Xia Tingfeng had long anticipated this move. He immediately tapped his toes and leaped from his seat.

You have brothers, and so do I!

Ten plain-clothed members of the Imperial Forest Army surrounded them. Both sides drew their gleaming weapons and faced off. The gamblers in the casino, terrified, scattered and fled, turning the place into chaos.

Fan Changsheng’s street thugs charged with their shining broadswords. Xia Tingfeng’s guards, too, each armed with a short dagger, rushed forward to meet them.

”OUCH!”

”Damn it, who chopped me!”

”Damn your granny, you chopped me first!”

”Damn your father, it was clearly you who chopped me first!”

Two little thugs started arguing, neck to neck. A moment later, two other scoundrels were grappling with each other for the same reason.

Xia Tingfeng smirked wickedly. Such a small space, and most street thugs don’t know martial arts. In their panic, swinging their broadswords, who knew who they would hit? So, better to go for close combat. Knock down one after another!

Fan Changsheng was rarely provoked and seldom fought. He never imagined these bastards under him could be so hopelessly idiotic.

”All of you, get lost!”

After saying that, he kicked one away. He picked up the broadsword and swung it at Xia Tingfeng.

Xia Tingfeng performed a beautiful backflip, landing behind him in an instant.

CLANG! The broadsword hit the ground.

Fan Changsheng, clutching his wrist, knelt in pain on the ground.

Xia Tingfeng kicked over.

Fan Changsheng bent his body, rolling to the side just in time to dodge.
