Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1535: Chapter 1537: Can’t Handle It

”Two things.” The old principal said leisurely, ”One for me, one for General Lei.”

”Old fox.”

Lu Xiaobu muttered under his breath.

He’d used this trick plenty himself, so of course he knew the routine behind it.

As long as that condition wasn’t clearly spoken out loud, it could be reused over and over.

But then, the corner of Lu Xiaobu’s mouth curled up.

Sometimes, this kind of exploitation went both ways.

You want me to help you save face, then you’ve got to protect me, right?

”You agreed?” The old principal asked with a smile.

”Yeah, of course I agreed. With you two playing this little duet, how could I not?” Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes.

Hearing Lu Xiaobu’s words, General Lei and the old principal just smiled, not even a hint of embarrassment.

That made Lu Xiaobu frown slightly.

Looks like... this really isn’t a small matter.

They didn’t even care about being mocked by a weakling like him.

Forget it, since I’m already here, I’ll just go with it.

”Yuan Hong, take Xiaobu down.” The old principal waved at Yuan Hong. ”Arrange a class for him.”

”Okay.” Yuan Hong wiped the sweat from his forehead and nodded.

Yuan Hong led Lu Xiaobu away.

And as soon as he left, the old principal and General Lei exchanged a glance and said something inexplicable.

”Can he do it?” General Lei asked.

”Call him a seed. Having one more is better than having one less.” The old principal smiled, but there was a faint bitterness in that smile.

...

Yuan Hong had Lu Xiaobu wait at the entrance to the teaching building while he went off to assign him to a class.

At the door of the teachers’ office area, Yuan Hong straightened his expression, then walked in with a look of surprise on his face:

”Teachers, teachers, I’ve found a real talent! But my class is full, can someone else take him?”

”I guarantee you, if you teach him well, he’ll definitely turn into a great student!”

However—

No one responded. Whenever he looked at a teacher, that teacher would immediately lower their head, suddenly looking very busy.

He looked at another one, and that one hurriedly lowered their head too.

Yuan Hong’s heart sank. Crap, could it be that they know?!

Then he quickly walked a couple of steps forward.

”Teacher Li, you see...” Yuan Hong looked at one teacher obsequiously.

”Ahem, well, uh, Teacher Yuan, it’s not that I don’t want to help, I really just can’t handle any more!” Teacher Li coughed.

”Teacher Wang, I know you’ve always been hunting for good seedlings, right...”

Yuan Hong immediately turned to the next teacher.

”No, no, no! I’ve thought it through recently, I’m getting old, I’m not going to fight you guys for students anymore!”

Teacher Wang shook his head in refusal at once.

”Teacher Zhu!” Yuan Hong was getting more and more anxious.

”Sigh, Teacher Yuan, let me be honest with you! I’m not taking that Slap Maniac, and neither is anyone else.” Teacher Zhu put down what he was holding and sighed. ”So don’t waste your energy.”

”You all... already know?!” Yuan Hong’s knees went weak. So they all knew?!

”How could we not know?” Teacher Zhu gave a wry smile. ”Not only do we know, the whole Nanshan City probably knows. A Slap Maniac who’s slapped the City Guard Army and teachers from Nanshan Academy—who wouldn’t know?”

”Then what am I supposed to do!”

Yuan Hong was about to cry.

If no one wanted him, would he have to put him in his own class?!

He’d already taken seven slaps from this kid!

How was he supposed to teach him like that!

But this was someone the principal had personally ordered to be admitted; kicking him out was clearly impossible!

”Teacher Wu! Teacher Wu! You’ve always got tricks up your sleeve! Help me out!” Yuan Hong pleaded, looking at the strictest teacher among them.

”I can’t handle him!” Teacher Wu said with absolute seriousness.

”No, no, no, you can definitely handle him!” Yuan Hong insisted.

”Can’t handle him!”

”You can totally handle him!”

”Can’t handle him!”

”I’m begging you, handle him, okay?!”

”Can’t handle him!”

Whatever he said, Teacher Wu just repeated those three words: Can’t handle him!

His attitude couldn’t be clearer: I’m not taking him!

”Then what do I do?! Will somebody please save me!” Yuan Hong wailed.

”I wonder... if I can handle him?”

Just then, a voice drifted over.

Yuan Hong instantly lit up with joy and turned his head!

But when he saw who it was, he froze.

Him?!

The man in front of him had a head of messy hair, an eyepatch over his left eye, and was bare-chested. Even at a quick glance you could see the scars that covered his body.

Sword cuts, knife wounds, bullet holes, claw marks, bite marks!

A dense web of scars that made your scalp tingle just looking at them!

Bao Wu!

Just like his name, this was a very violent, but also very powerful teacher!

Most importantly, the death rate in the classes he took charge of was very, very, very high!

More than ninety percent of the incidents Nanshan Academy had to deal with every year were caused by Bao Wu and the class under him!

To put it in a way you can grasp directly—

Students in other classes had graduation as their goal.

Students in his class—staying alive was the goal!

”Teacher Bao... uh, this is someone the principal personally named!” Yuan Hong hesitated.

Should he really hand him over to Bao Wu?

If this guy tormented Lu Xiaobu to death, that would be a huge problem!

In the end, he gritted his teeth. Worst-case scenario, he’d just take Xiaobu himself.

However—

”So what?” Bao Wu said calmly. ”It’s settled, I’m taking this one.”

After he finished, he didn’t give Yuan Hong any chance to object; he just pushed the door open and left.

As he walked out, he tossed back a line: ”Teacher Yuan, give our class another month’s vacation.”

”Bao...” Yuan Hong looked at Bao Wu’s back as he left, but couldn’t bring himself to say the rest.

”Forget it, maybe it’s a good thing. A troublemaker like that, probably only Bao Wu can tame him.” The earlier Teacher Wu sighed.

...

Bao Wu stepped out of the teachers’ office, swept his eyes over Lu Xiaobu from head to toe. ”You’re the Slap Maniac, Lu Xiaobu, right.”

”That’s me.” Lu Xiaobu sized Bao Wu up and nodded.

”Mm. From now on I’m your teacher. Come with me.” Bao Wu nodded and strode off ahead.

Lu Xiaobu shrugged and followed.

Listening to Lu Xiaobu’s unhurried footsteps behind him, Bao Wu secretly nodded. Good mindset. He really was a good seedling.

He’d seen plenty of students who backed away in terror the moment they saw all the scars on his body.

Good. Since you’re a good seedling, I’ll make sure to tame you properly!

However—

What he didn’t know was that at this very moment, the eyes of Lu Xiaobu walking behind him were also shining—this big guy looked like a pretty good seedling himself. Next step: time to tame him!

Mm, at this exact moment, both Bao Wu and Lu Xiaobu had the idea of taming the other!

In the end, will it be Bao Wu who successfully establishes himself as Lu Xiaobu’s teacher?

Or will Lu Xiaobu successfully flip the script and become Bao Wu’s master?!

Stay tuned and find out!
