Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1083: Chapter 1082: Documentary

After the banquet.

Lu Xiaobu didn’t immediately arrange the manufacturing plan for the base station. Instead, he chose to rest.

Everyone, including him, was too tired. Another day or two wouldn’t make much difference, so they decided to rest first.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng’s side intensified their attack, while Lu Xiaobu’s side chose to rest.

This gave Lin Feng an opportunity, aggressively invading the communication circle’s territory with overwhelming momentum!

So!

One day later!

”Young Master Bu, Young Master Bu, it’s not good! Our QQ is under heavy attack!” Dawa said anxiously over the phone.

”I know, I know.” Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes. ”Don’t worry, and don’t tell those rascals! They are spending time with their parents!”

”But! But!” Dawa said anxiously.

”No buts! Follow orders!” Lu Xiaobu commanded.

”Yes!” Dawa hung up the phone with a bitter expression.

What kind of situation is this! Clearly, things have come to this point, yet the Young Master is still not taking action, and he even forbids us to tell the employees!

Is he going to abandon the communication circle’s territory?!

But didn’t the Young Master say he was well-prepared?!

Why hasn’t he taken any action?!

After hanging up, the other Calabash Brothers anxiously looked at Dawa: ”How is it?”

”Still not agreeing!” Dawa sighed.

”But, but, if this continues, QQ’s original territory will be completely devoured!” Sanwa said anxiously.

”I know, but if the Young Master doesn’t agree, what can you do? Just wait!” Dawa sighed again.

Then!

”Sigh!”

The entire conference room sighed in unison!

...

On the other side, Lu Xiaobu hung up the phone and curled his lips, ”What’s the rush?”

The production and promotion of the base station take time, and he wants to win it all in one go, so there’s no point in rushing!

Moreover, the most critical issue is that his expenses this time were too large, leaving him almost out of funds. Without replenishment, it would be disastrous!

”Young Master, they’re just anxious!” Liang Lan said with a wry smile.

Not only them, even she felt a bit anxious!

”By the way, Sister Lan, help me think about how to repay those who helped me during the livestream?”

Lu Xiaobu scratched his head.

He was talking about the people who listened to him tell stories later on.

He had always promised to give back to everyone!

But when the time came, he really didn’t know what to do!

If he gave them money, it would be like slapping their faces!

If he gave them fame, do they need him to provide that? That would also be face-slapping!

But if he gave them nothing, it wouldn’t sit well with his conscience!

The biggest two options were ruled out; what could he give?!

”This, Young Master, if you’re asking me, I also...”

Liang Lan was also at a loss. She didn’t know what to do either!

Suddenly, an idea struck Lu Xiaobu: ”Why don’t we make a documentary?”

If he couldn’t provide something tangible, then at least he could give them a documentary chronicling those past years.

That way, it would surely bring them some comfort!

”That’s not a bad idea.” Liang Lan nodded.

She thought a bit more. Having Zhang Benhu’s involvement wasn’t usually a problem, but now, in this confrontation with Lin Feng, it would eventually become a liability for the Young Master, a sword for Lin Feng.

Therefore, if they could brighten Zhang Benhu’s image through this documentary, it would also help in the future.

”Alright, let’s do it. Let’s find Chen Feiyang!” For Lu Xiaobu, once such a matter was decided, there was no need to hesitate.

”Yes!”

Liang Lan nodded immediately.

Soon, they arrived at the film studio and found Chen Feiyang, who was filming a movie.

Chen Feiyang had officially signed with Zhang Benhu’s company now. Having completed A Chinese Odyssey, he now felt a bit content and without desire.

He stayed at Zhang Benhu’s company partly for a job and partly to stay close to Lu Xiaobu in hopes of getting another good script someday.

And Zhang Benhu showed great respect for him. Whether to shoot a film, what to shoot, and how to shoot, all were up to Chen Feiyang!

”Young Master Bu, why are you here?” Chen Feiyang, upon seeing Lu Xiaobu, quickly offered the director’s seat with a smile.

”I want to make a documentary. Can you shoot it?” Lu Xiaobu got straight to the point.

”Well...” Chen Feiyang hesitated at hearing it was a documentary, ”I can shoot it, yes, but I’m not exactly a professional!”

For someone else, he might have taken it on. As a renowned director, shooting a documentary was within his capabilities!

However, since it was a task for Young Master Bu, it would be something earth-shattering, and he feared his half-baked skills wouldn’t suffice!

”Then do you have any recommendations?” Lu Xiaobu asked again.

”Let me think.” Chen Feiyang pondered for a moment, then a light bulb went off: ”Oh, there’s someone—Principal Li from your school! He’s an old hand at making documentaries!”

”What? Him?” Lu Xiaobu was taken aback.

He almost forgot he had a student identity.

But he didn’t expect that Emperor Electric School’s Principal Li could shoot documentaries as well?!

”Yes! Principal Li is really experienced. Some of the documentaries from back then are still well-known today. However, lacking good themes later on, he dedicated himself to education! If you have a good theme, I’m sure he’d be willing to come out of retirement!” Chen Feiyang assured.

”Alright, I’ll find him.” Lu Xiaobu nodded, then scratched his head again: ”By the way, have I graduated yet?”

”Pfft!”

Chen Feiyang almost spat out blood in surprise. Really, Young Master Bu, you don’t even know if you’ve graduated?!

Anyway, after going around in circles, Lu Xiaobu returned to Emperor Electric, a place he hadn’t visited in ages.

”Principal Li, long time no see.” Lu Xiaobu accepted the gift from Liang Lan and placed it on the table.

This wasn’t bribery, just a token of appreciation for Principal Li’s constant help.

”You, coming here means something’s up. What’s the matter?” Principal Li chuckled.

For this continuously problematic yet honor-gaining student, Emperor Electric also constantly faced troubles and honors.

However, as long as Lu Xiaobu kept winning, it meant Emperor Electric kept winning.

”I just wanted to invite you to come out of retirement to make a documentary.” Lu Xiaobu smiled.

”Sure, what’s the theme?” Principal Li agreed without a thought.

It was his trust in Lu Xiaobu.

”A resistance theme.” Lu Xiaobu explained.

”This...”

Principal Li, initially so agreeable, suddenly hesitated, and the hand brewing tea paused, filled with conflict.

”What’s wrong? Is there an issue with this theme?”

Now it was Lu Xiaobu’s turn to be puzzled. A documentary on the resistance theme wasn’t such a big deal. Why hesitate so much?!
