Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 939: Chapter 937: Looking for Trouble?

After all, Xue Kun is his own child, so in the end, Xue Changzhi couldn’t bear to make Xue Kun drink both bowls and just found a place to pour it out.

When Xue Lin returned and saw that the porridge was gone, she nodded in satisfaction, ”You guys take your time eating, I’m heading out for a bit!”

”Mm-hm!” The two people hurriedly nodded, as if saying, hurry up and leave so we can enjoy our meal!

Xue Lin walked out the door and immediately chuckled.

Did they really think she didn’t know how much salt was in that porridge?!

She did it on purpose!

After all, no matter how bad someone is at cooking, they wouldn’t put in two packs of salt!

She was deliberately messing with them as punishment for their mischievous deeds yesterday!

However, when serving the food earlier, she was indeed practicing; that bowl was really hot!

Now to find Lu Xiaobu!

...

In the outskirts of Imperial.

A convoy was slowly driving toward Imperial!

Even the citizens of Imperial, who were accustomed to seeing luxurious convoys, were intrigued by this convoy.

After all, it was their first time seeing a convoy with a truck!

On the front Land Rover, an older and a younger person were talking.

”We’re finally arriving!” the young man said, slightly impatient.

”Calm down!” the middle-aged man scolded, but his face also showed signs of happiness.

The middle-aged man was Lu Zhongping, and the young man was Lu Hao. They are father and son, and also the Family Head and Young Master of the Lu Family.

”How can I not be anxious! Linlin finally likes men! Now our marriage arrangement can continue, and you can finally have a grandson!” Lu Hao said with a mischievous smile to Lu Zhongping.

Lu Zhongping didn’t argue, but instead showed a slight smile, clearly pleased, yet he sighed afterward, ”But it’s the fact you’ll have to marry into their family afterward... sigh!”

”What’s the big deal? Marry into the family then!” Lu Hao was indifferent, ”The Xue Family is big and powerful, marrying into it is quite good!”

”You!” Lu Zhongping almost got half-dead angry hearing this, ”How can you be so spineless!”

Although it was a fact, seeing Lu Hao so happily intend to marry into their family made his anger rise!

This son, where is his backbone?!

”Ambition?! What does having ambition mean?” Lu Hao shrugged, ”By then, once my son is born, with your support, within a few years, he’ll be the head of the Xue Family. That’s ambition!”

Hearing this, Lu Zhongping rolled his eyes but didn’t deny it.

Clearly, he also held this idea in his heart!

The Lu Family is both a Martial Artist Family and a herb-collecting family!

Medicinal herbs are the economic backbone of the Lu Family!

The main way to cash in is through the Xue Family, then sell them out!

Therefore, maintaining a good relationship with the Xue Family, especially with Xue Lin, who currently holds the financial power of the Xue Family, is crucial!

And a marriage alliance is clearly the best way!

This marriage arrangement was settled from the previous generation!

Logically, the wedding should have been held after reaching adulthood, but Xue Lin was rebellious to the extreme and directly stopped liking men!

So, things have been delayed continuously!

But even so, it’s fine because the Xue Family felt guilty about this matter to the Lu Family, always treating them well and letting them earn a lot!

But now that Xue Lin started liking men again, they can’t wait anymore!

Although there’s a marriage arrangement, delaying won’t do any good!

Thinking of this, Lu Zhongping asked the driver to speed up, heading straight to the Xue Family!

...

Xue Changzhi patted his belly, satisfied, sitting on the chair, finally full!

At this time.

”Family Head, Lu Family’s Lu Zhongping requests to see you.” The butler came over and said to Xue Changzhi.

”Lu Zhongping? What’s he doing here?! It’s not the season to pick up goods, even if it were, it wouldn’t be him coming personally.” Xue Changzhi was a bit perplexed.

But out of courtesy, he still went out personally to greet them.

”Old Brother Xue, it’s been a long time!” Lu Zhongping cheerfully greeted Xue Changzhi with cupped hands.

”Hello Uncle Xue!” Lu Hao bowed to greet.

”Brother Lu, you are quite a rare guest! And this must be Lu Hao! Indeed he is talented, much better than my unpromising son!” Xue Changzhi chuckled and said, ”Quick, come inside please!”

Both parties entered, host and guest took their seats.

”I wonder why Brother Lu is here...” Xue Changzhi was still a bit confused.

”Brother Xue forgets easily! You forgot? My son and your daughter have a marriage arrangement! Now that the time is ripe, of course we need to handle it promptly!” Lu Zhongping laughed.

In his heart, he secretly thought, indeed forgotten almost completely, luckily the news reached early this time.

Otherwise, who knows what troublesome situation might arise!

”Marriage arrangement?!” Xue Changzhi suddenly realized, recalling it, but at the same time felt a headache!

Damn it, why are all these things happening at once?!

Is it really such a coincidence?!

Now it’s really difficult!

”Brother Xue, is there something you’re worried about?!” Seeing Xue Changzhi’s expression, Lu Zhongping knew something was wrong, ”You wouldn’t want to back out, would you!”

”Absolutely not, this marriage arrangement was set by both our previous elders, I will certainly follow it.” Xue Changzhi waved his hand and said, ”But you must understand my dilemma!”

”What dilemma?” Lu Zhongping asked.

”Think about it! How do we know Linlin likes men?! Certainly, she has someone she likes, and that’s how we know! You get it, right!” Xue Changzhi shrugged and said.

”That’s the logic!” Lu Zhongping pondered for a moment, it indeed seemed like if Xue Lin didn’t have a man she liked, they wouldn’t know she liked men!

”So, you really need to understand me. I’ll definitely honor the marriage arrangement, but you have to give me some time! You wouldn’t want Linlin to hate you, would you!”

Xue Changzhi helplessly said, ”Don’t talk about parental orders and matchmaking, if those worked for Linlin, things wouldn’t be like this today!”

Lu Zhongping heard this and fell silent!

Xue Changzhi’s words were plain, but the reasoning was solid!

To be honest, he’d rather offend Xue Changzhi than offend Xue Lin!

After all, Xue Lin is the one who brings in the money!

”How about this! Brother Lu, since you’re here, don’t leave! Stay with me for a while, during this time, we’ll figure out a solution together! At the same time, let Little Lu and Linlin develop feelings; maybe they’ll become a couple by themselves!” Xue Changzhi said.

Seeing the conversation reach this point, Lu Zhongping indeed had no other options but to agree: ”Alright then! For now, let’s get my son and your daughter acquainted!”

After speaking, he gave Lu Hao a look.

Lu Hao immediately understood.

”Uncle Xue, I wonder where Linlin is? I’d like to see her.” Lu Hao asked aloud.

”Uh... alright, she should be at Shimen. I’ll have Xue Kun take you there in a bit!” Xue Changzhi didn’t think much about it.

However, he didn’t notice that Xue Kun’s mouth twitched at this moment — looking for Lu Xiaobu?! Is he looking for trouble?!
