Chapter 880: Chapter 699: Your Emperor Wants to Commit Suicide!

Speaking of the Southern Emperor entering the Capital City, the whole city was filled with alarm and confusion. Actually, that statement is slightly inaccurate. To be precise, even before the Southern Emperor entered the city, the entire Capital City was in chaos. Now things have gotten a bit better, barely back on track. At the very least, the circle of imperial relatives and nobles had gathered, and the Emperor had regained control, hadn’t he?

Thus, on this night, the Imperial Forest Army, while patrolling the Imperial Palace in strict formation, saw a small figure rush in like a headless fly. Not only did it run wildly, but it also headed straight for the tightly guarded areas.

This couldn’t be tolerated! Recently, the Prince had intruded into the palace quite a few times and was eventually detained each time. Now, even a newly weened child dared to break into the palace, which was simply unacceptable—an absolute insult to the dignity of the Imperial Inner Guards and the Imperial Forest Army!

Countless guards wielding long spears were about to hoist up the little child running wild. However, before their spears even touched the corners of the child’s clothes, they were scared by the ceremonial procession from the Miao Ethnic Group hurriedly following behind the child!

“Godfather, who was that just now? That child…” the young Imperial Forest Army, on duty, spoke in terror. How terrifying! Those Miao girls looked so formidable, as if they’d silence you at the slightest disagreement!

“Smack!” A slap landed on the young Imperial Forest Army’s forehead. The leading Commander of the Imperial Forest Army stared at the procession disappearing into the harem and warned, “What child, what child? Don’t be disrespectful! For a child with such a prestigious Southern Country procession, only one exists under heaven! The son of the Southern Emperor, Changsheng, little prince of the Great Zhou, the little Highness of the Southern Country!”

“Ah?” The young Imperial Forest Army was dumbfounded at these words. Staring at where the child had vanished, he finally spoke after a while, “What is that little Highness doing intruding into the palace?”

At this time, His Majesty, he… he should have settled down in one of the concubines’ palaces, right?

Evidently, the Commander of the Imperial Forest Army shared the same thought as the rookie young Imperial Forest Army and shook his head with a sigh, “Poor His Majesty, after going through such trouble to enter the harem, only to encounter this affair. If this happens a few more times, he won’t be…”

“…done for?”

He dared not utter these two words, but that’s indeed what he thought!

Previously, when a Prince Bao could climb the rooftops and block His Majesty’s red gauze canopy, it was tolerated. But now, what is this just weaned little Highness joining the commotion for? Don’t they know it’s impolite to disrupt someone’s ‘sleep’?

Truth be told, the little meat bun didn’t find disturbing someone’s sleep impolite at all. He was in a hurry, exclaiming along the way to find the old Emperor grandfather, and ran straight into the harem!

Just then, Emperor Zhoulin was inside the red gauze canopy, whispering sweet nothings with his beloved concubine, when a noise and cries erupted outside, startling him. It’s no wonder he was like a bird startled by the mere twang of a bow, as it hasn’t been peaceful at the Capital City recently!

“Who dares to cause such a ruckus in Our harem?” Emperor Zhoulin shouted in anger, then paused, speaking in surprise, “Could it be the Imperial Younger Brother has returned to the court?”

His Imperial Younger Brother, Prince Bao, a savior indeed!

Emperor Zhoulin suddenly grew interested, wanting to get up from his beloved consort’s side. But before he could rise, a small figure leaped into the red gauze canopy like a ball, landing on both him and his beloved concubine.

“Oh no! My old waist!” With his forehead buried back onto his beloved consort, Emperor Zhoulin immediately let out a wail, feeling as if he’d just coughed up blood. Who could this be? Surely not his Imperial Younger Brother, for even if that brother was a bit unruly, daring to climb rooftops and occasionally beat up his Imperial Brother, he’d still maintain decorum in his own concubine’s quarters; otherwise, he wouldn’t have sought refuge in the harem!

So how did he come across someone so unruly today?

Emperor Zhoulin was mentally sweating, feeling so aggrieved in his role as Emperor, as nothing seemed to go his way. His own princes and grandsons weren’t considerate either. On top of this, despite having one foot in the grave, he could hardly muster the drive to step into the harem to favor a concubine, and here someone was breaking his bed with such insolence!

This could be the death of him!

“Who is it? Who is it? I’ll exterminate their nine families!” Emperor Zhoulin was understandably furious, after being so crushed beneath that he couldn’t even get up.

“Sister… where is my sister?” Sitting on Emperor Zhoulin’s bed, pinning down an Emperor and one mortified concubine, the little meat bun’s primary concern was evidently not in sync with Emperor Zhoulin’s thoughts.

“Eh?” Upon hearing this innocent inquiry, Emperor Zhoulin momentarily froze. He stiffly turned his dragon neck to gaze at the source of the disturbance.

A young child, whose family is this? How were they taught? Such lack of decorum?

“I… I am not your father!” Facing one another in such a bizarre setting, Emperor Zhoulin was filled with grief to the brink of death. He wanted to cry out for help, but swallowed the words back down. What defense needed to be called upon? Who’s ever heard of an assassin being a young child!

If you want your sister, go find your parents, why disturb my Dragon Bed?

“You’re not my dad, but you are my grandfather!” The little meat bun pouted, feeling aggrieved, “My sister! Get up quickly, give me my sister! Give me my sister!”

Upon hearing this, Emperor Zhoulin was practically on the verge of tears—he, this kid’s grandfather? Since when did he have such a great-grandson he knew nothing about? Although he had many concubines, sons, and grandsons, he’d at least seen them, even if they were distant. No reason he shouldn’t recognize his own great-grandson!

Everything’s chaotic these days—people randomly climbing familial ladders and recognizing false kin! And of all people, they dared claim kinship with him, the Emperor—such audacity!

Also, he’s the emperor of a whole country, what’s his relation with the little baby’s sister? Why should he get up and give his sister to her? It’s a joke, he wants to get up too, but how can he? He’s still naked!

Under the brocade quilt, are there two bare, white bodies or not? How is he supposed to get up? There’s still a little baby pressing down on him!

Emperor Zhoulin punched the bed, gritting his teeth, “Outrageous! Outrageous! I shall exterminate your whole clan! Exterminate your whole clan!”

Sitting on top of Emperor Zhoulin, the little fat bun heard this and immediately puckered his lips, looking aggrieved, with big eyes brimming with tears, “You won’t give me my sister, and you’re still going to kill me?”

“Kill! Drag him out and behead him!” He’s so old already, is it easy for him to grace a concubine? Emperor Zhoulin was already furious, punching the bed and shouting.

“Really?” The little fat bun pouted, “Then will you still exterminate my whole clan?”

“Exterminate! Exterminate! Not a single one shall be spared!” Emperor Zhoulin growled, this truly was a year of bad luck, everything was going wrong, even a little baby dared to sit on him.

“Wow!” The little fat bun atop Emperor Zhoulin exclaimed, looking aggrieved, he began counting with his chubby little hands, “Let me count, Uncle Wood married my mother, you’re the dad’s dad’s dad of Uncle Wood… Gah! Not even out of nine familial exterminations, people come! Save me! Your emperor is going to commit suicide!”

Gah? What?

Emperor Zhoulin was immediately dumbfounded, what did he just hear? Was he hearing things?

“Ah! No, wrong! Not save me! Restart!” On him, the little baby shook his head, retracting the previous words, and yelled again with changed lines, “People come! Bring a rope to hang myself! Your emperor is going to commit suicide!”

Emperor Zhoulin couldn’t be stunned any longer, and he couldn’t care about his image, he immediately rolled out from under the brocade quilt, revealing half of his bare shoulder, glaring with terrified eyes at the sudden appearance of a brocade rope on his dragon bed!

What was this all about? Was it really like someone is going to commit suicide and ropes are delivered for it?

A certain concubine hiding strictly under the brocade quilt, but the Emperor set on committing suicide couldn’t care about that, he just lay there with half his body exposed, making eye contact with the little baby on his bed, his old face twitching, nearly facially paralyzed, “What did you just say? Uncle Wood? Who is your Uncle Wood?”

Emperor Zhoulin was very certain, although he had been quite the playboy in his younger years, he definitely hadn’t left behind any illegitimate offspring outside, so this suddenly appearing great-grandson had a problem!

Uncle Wood huh! He happened to have a grandson in the family, nicknamed Wood…

Could it be… Emperor Zhoulin’s expression suddenly became interesting!

“Uncle Wood is just Uncle Wood! Who else is Uncle Wood?” The little fat bun rolled his eyes at Emperor Zhoulin, with a ‘you’re silly and stupid’ expression.

This little expression deeply hurt the heart of the old emperor, Emperor Zhoulin nearly wanted to bash his own head against his dragon bed!

Godfather! What kind of mess is this!

This was indeed his great-grandson, although it seemed a bit of a bargain, yet, this little baby’s title as Commandery Prince, was personally conferred by him!

No need to say it, by now, Emperor Zhoulin finally recognized in the chaos who this little baby was, the son of Southern Emperor Changsheng, Gu Yaoyao!

Southern Emperor! Truly raised a good son, this bed almost cost him his old life!

Just when Emperor Zhoulin was filled with grief and indignation, almost wishing he was dead, the little baby sitting on him crawled forward, lunged at his bare shoulder, hugging it, and screamed heartbreakingly, “Emperor Grandpa don’t rush to suicide! Give me back my sister before you exterminate yourself! I want my sister!”

Three black lines streaked across Emperor Zhoulin’s forehead, a flock of crows flew over his head, a series of punctuation marks resounded profoundly in his heart, who said anything about suicide? Even when the court was in chaos he never thought of suicide, now when everything is settling, why would he commit suicide? He was clearly being driven to suicide!

And, why would asking for a sister come to him? His palace hadn’t added newcomers in over ten years!

“Xiao Yaoyao…” Emperor Zhoulin in a composed tone called the little baby urging him to suicide, his old eyes glimpsed the rows of Miao women at the door, speaking amidst grief and indignation, “I’m not going to suicide! And, my relation with your sister is none, right?”

If this continued, he would indeed become the first emperor in history to be suicided on his dragon bed, this bleakness needed explanation!

The little fat bun, upon hearing this, immediately widened his big eyes in displeasure, not even caring about arguing the suicide matter, having a sister was more important…
