Chapter 255: King In the South

”K–King of the South?” Charles stammered, his brows furrowed in confusion. He didn’t understand what Leon meant, but something in Leon’s tone told him it wasn’t a lie.

’What is in the south ? Is he from an unknown kingdom ? What if he really is a prince and I started a war with their Kingdom ?

But, what if he is just bluffing ? No, No... He also has that girl with wings flying in the air... She looks like a forest fairy and I have heard that they are very strong.

Oh my god... I can’t make one fucking decision, what kind of king am I going to become ?’ Charles thought as he started to feel very confused with every passing second.

Leon’s gaze never wavered. ”Allow me to reintroduce myself... I am the King of the South—Michael Jackson. I have killed many people... and I don’t mind killing a few more.” His voice was calm, but his eyes drilled directly into Charles, cold and unyielding.

’If you want to Bluff... Then either Bluff so little that they can’t even detect it or Bluff so hard that they can’t comprehend the truth behind it.’

”W–Wha—” Charles tried to respond, but the words caught in his throat.

”Dare you threaten our prince!?” Frecio barked, stepping forward. His voice carried a fearless edge as he glared at Leon. ”Do you have any idea how many Royal Knights stand around you ? They will kill you the moment he commands it.”

Leon exhaled faintly, unbothered by the tension pressing down on him from every direction. ”Haa... fine. Then how about this—” he lifted his hand slowly, reaching into his pocket. ”I’ll show you a small example of my power. No one will be harmed. Then we can all be on our way.”

The moment his fingers produced a small wooden bead, the Royal Knights’ formation shifted. Blades gleamed, bowstrings pulled taut.

”Calm down... calm down.” Leon’s voice remained even as he raised the bead into view. ”I won’t harm you with this.”

He pressed two fingers against the bead.

A black circle shimmered over its surface. Then—he moved his finger slightly upward.

Zhhhhhmm—

More and more seals layered upon each other, stacking endlessly. The bead pulsed with unstable energy, its surface humming with dark vibrations.

Instead of multiple alerts flooding his vision, only one appeared.

[+900 Seals has been applied. (Maximum Limit Reached)]

Leon’s eyes widened, his composure cracking for the briefest instant.

’Fucking hell... I knew the skills got buffed, but nine hundred seals? If this bead explodes... the blast will be monstrous. Hellish. I don’t even know the scale.’ His throat tightened slightly. ’I need a pen and paper to calculate that kind of damage.’

He turned his head casually, only to notice one of the archers had his bow already drawn, an arrow pointed straight at him.

A thought flickered through Leon’s mind. His smirk returned.

’Oh... that can work.’

He lifted the bead. ”Attach this to your arrow. Shoot it as high as you can.”

”What? Why should we help—” Frecio started, but Charles’ sharp voice cut him off.

”Take it.” Charles’ tone was hard, commanding. His expression left no room for doubt.

”...Yes, Your Majesty.” Frecio stepped forward, reluctantly accepting the bead from Leon’s hand. Without hesitation, he handed it to the waiting archer.

The archer’s hands trembled slightly as he bound the bead to his arrow with a strip of leather. Then he raised his bow, steadying his breath.

”Grace of Jernia...”

The words rang like a vow. His weapon flared with divine light for an instant, bow and arrow glowing with radiant energy.

Pull.

Tik.

Swishhhhh—!

The arrow tore through the air with blinding speed, vanishing upward like a streak of silver.

Every soldier tilted their heads back, eyes following its flight. The arrow pierced the dark ceiling of clouds and disappeared into the heavens.

’Please don’t be a mass extinction-level one...’ Leon prayed silently, pressing his lips together. Under his breath, he whispered the trigger.

”...Kaboom.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The world roared.

A shockwave tore across the land with the force of a hurricane. The ground beneath them trembled violently as if the very earth feared the sound. Soldiers clutched their weapons, eyes wide in horror, while the heavens themselves split apart.

Leon squinted, his face bathed in blinding radiance. Slowly, he opened his eyes.

”Fucking hell...” he muttered under his breath.

The haze of light cleared, revealing a sight that froze him in place.

The dark canopy of storm clouds that had blanketed the Human Kingdom for over forty-five days—obliterated in an instant. Sunlight streamed down freely, warm and golden, as the twin suns descended along the horizon. For the first time in weeks, light touched the land again.

Leon lowered his gaze. Every Royal Knight, every soldier, even Prince Charles himself—all of them stared slack-jawed at the sky, mouths hanging open in disbelief.

”Master...” Enid’s voice came soft and sultry, her crimson eyes glimmering. She leaned closer, her lips brushing his ear, her hand caressing his cheek. ”I’m not going to lie, but that just made me a little wet. You’re so strong... and yet, back in the village, you acted like such a weakling.” Her smile widened, fangs barely visible.

The only thing that came to Leon’s mind after looking at the explosion was, ’Yep... That will destroy the human kingdom instantly. If not fully, the damages will be too much to repair.’

”Master...? Are you listening ? Would you like to touch my wet pussy or maybe use it ?” Enid asked with a perverted smile.

Leon ignored her teasing, his attention fixed on Charles. His voice came calm, cutting through the stunned silence. ”So... what were you saying again?”

Charles flinched at the words. His mind snapped back into motion. He stumbled forward, bowing deeply. His voice trembled as he spoke.

”Sir Michael Jackson, King of the South... I-I-I humbly welcome you to our kingdom. M-My name is Prince Charles Lorence, son of King Edwin Lorence. I deeply apologize for my rudeness earlier. Please... forgive me for that or punish me if you like.”

THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD!

One by one, the Royal Knights followed their prince’s example. Swords clattered against the ground as they dropped to their knees in unison, bowing low before Leon. Even the lower level guards, pale with fear, pressed their foreheads to the dirt.

Frecio’s body trembled as he too bent down, one knee sinking into the cracked earth beneath him. His eyes darted toward the fractures splintering across the ground, his face pale.

’The Royal fucking Cavalry is on their knees. Even the prince... bowing to me. I have really scared them, huh ?

He won’t try to make a man with this much power angry on him no matter what. Looks like the words were really true... Money is nothing when you hold Power.’

Behind the handkerchief covering his face, Leon’s lips curved into a wide grin.

”I trust,” he spoke evenly, his calm tone carrying like a king’s decree, ”that we won’t have any more problems. I can pass... right?”

”S-Sir... Please allow me to escort you to your destination and If you would like, please come to our castle... I would like to serve you our delicious food as an apology for-”

”I don’t really have time for that but I will come to visit some other day. I have friend in your kingdom that I have to meet. So, Bye.” Leon replied as he slowly tapped his hand against Dusk’s nape and he started moving immediately.

Mary started to follow them and as she did, she looked at Leon carefully.

’He holds so much power, then why would he act like that ? Why would he hide his face in front of those humans ?

Why did he even show them all that if he wanted to keep his identity a secret ?’ Mary thought in her mind as she looked at Leon with a tilted head.

....

Truvale Checkpost,

Charles is sitting on a wooden chair and he is drinking water without any stops.

*Gulp-Gulp-Gulp*

*Thud*

He placed the wooden mug on the table and looked at the empty corner of the tent.

”S-Sir... Are you alright ?” Frecio asked with a confused and worried expression.

”Alright ? Do you think I am alright ? I just stopped and talked back to such a powerful person and you think I am alright ?

I didn’t knew he was a fucking king... What kind of king travels on a Shadow Velmora and he didn’t even any Royal Cavalry with him.

I don’t even know if there is a fucking kingdom in the south or not. But, if there is a kingdom in the south and that guy is the king... I want him to be on good terms with this kingdom.

And I want the name of his friend in this kingdom. If I established a good relationship between the two kingdoms... No one will be able to stop me from becoming the next king.

Forget everything... Find out the name of his friend, Frecio.’ Charles ordered with a serious expression.
