The Side Character Who Wins by Doing Nothing

Everyone was stunned, and the entire scene fell silent.

’How could this be? Luo Linlang clearly hadn’t done anything. She had only said a single sentence!’

But judging by Ye Zhiyao’s state, it was as if some immense force was pinning her down. Her kneeling posture was unnaturally perfect, and her head was pressed so low that she was nearly prostrate on the ground.

Anyone who didn’t know better might have mistaken her for an incredibly devout believer kowtowing before a god.

Even Lu Sangjiu was utterly stunned... but not because she failed to understand what was happening.

It was because as Luo Linlang spoke those words, Lu Sangjiu felt a flicker of an incredibly familiar power... It was Rule Power, the power of the world itself!

The Rule Power of the world encompasses many things, and Heavenly Punishment is one of them.

That simple sentence Luo Linlang had just spoken contained a Rule Power that ordinary people could not resist. That was why Ye Zhiyao couldn’t even struggle and had simply knelt down obediently.

’If I’m not mistaken, this must be the legendary Word Spirit Technique.’

Lu Sangjiu had never expected to see Luo Linlang use such a legendary secret technique.

’After all, even the book had never mentioned this.’

’I don’t know if the book simply couldn’t predict everything, or if Luo Linlang never had a chance to use this technique while following the destiny it laid out for her.’

In any case, a scene bordering on a miracle had just unfolded before everyone’s eyes.

With Ye Zhiyao on her knees, the Spiritual Power controlling the Hell Cage dissipated.

This time, Luo Linlang easily broke free. Then, covered in blood, she staggered step by step toward Ye Zhiyao.

When she was ten paces away, Luo Linlang raised her right hand, and a ball of water condensed in her palm.

Looking as though she was using the very last of her Spiritual Power, she violently launched a Water Bomb Explosion at Ye Zhiyao!

”This... is payback!”

At this moment, Ye Zhiyao was completely suppressed and couldn’t mount any defense at all.

So even if Luo Linlang’s attack no longer had the same power as before, if it hit her, she would definitely be severely injured.

Seeing that the situation was bad, Bai Heng immediately rushed over.

Before he even arrived, he sent out a sword strike, intending to block Luo Linlang’s attack for Ye Zhiyao.

But Sword Bu Gui had long since found him displeasing. Now that Luo Linlang had turned the tables, he was inwardly gloating, so how could he let Bai Heng ruin it?

He immediately sent out a sword strike of his own, intercepting Bai Heng’s before it could pierce the Barrier.

All this happened in an instant. By the time Sword Bu Gui had blocked Bai Heng, it was already too late for him to make another move.

Luo Linlang’s Water Bomb exploded next to Ye Zhiyao, and a cloud of dust and smoke instantly billowed up.

Bai Heng ground his teeth in hatred, but he had no time to clash with Sword Bu Gui. With a wave of his hand, he opened the Barrier and charged heedlessly into the cloud of dust and smoke.

Lu Sangjiu didn’t care at all what happened to Ye Zhiyao and Bai Heng.

But with Bai Heng’s madman-like behavior, if Ye Zhiyao was seriously injured, he would surely take his anger out on Luo Linlang later.

So, taking advantage of the open Barrier, Lu Sangjiu also immediately rushed onto the stage.

Before she could even reach Luo Linlang’s side, she saw Luo Linlang suddenly spit out a mouthful of blood, her body swaying before collapsing toward the ground.

Lu Sangjiu was startled. She rushed over with all her speed and barely managed to catch her.

The moment she touched her, Lu Sangjiu could feel that Luo Linlang was in an extremely bad state.

This dire condition wasn’t something that could be caused by the external injuries from the Hell Cage; it was more like something had gone wrong internally.

Lu Sangjiu immediately guessed that it was likely due to the backlash from using the Word Spirit Technique.

The Word Spirit Technique was practically Words and Laws Follow; if used by a Cultivator of a higher Realm, they could even decide life and death with a single word.

However, to use such a powerful ability, one must certainly pay a great price.

Today, Luo Linlang only told Ye Zhiyao to kneel. If she had told her to die, Ye Zhiyao would have undoubtedly died today, but Luo Linlang herself would probably have been left with only a single breath.

Lu Sangjiu acted decisively, scooping Luo Linlang into her arms and rushing off the stage. ”A Medical Cultivator! Get over here and save her!”

During the competition, the Gold and Silver Gate always had Medical Cultivators waiting below the stage. Although treatment required payment, they could indeed be life-saving at critical moments.

Seeing Luo Linlang’s condition now, the Medical Cultivators swarmed over without a second word.

First, they fed her a few Elixir Pills, then immediately had Lu Sangjiu follow them to a nearby tent specially prepared for treating the wounded.

The crowd watching the match was completely captivated by Luo Linlang, so no one was paying attention to Bai Heng and Ye Zhiyao on the stage.

It wasn’t until Lu Sangjiu carried her into the tent and out of sight that everyone remembered to look back at the stage.

By now, the dust and smoke had cleared. On the stage, Bai Heng held Ye Zhiyao, his expression grim.

He was filled with rage, but now he had no one to vent it on.

As for Ye Zhiyao in his arms, everyone could see with a single glance that she was already unconscious and looked seriously injured.

The people from the Gold and Silver Gate were clearly displeased that Bai Heng had broken the rules by rushing onto the stage.

Glancing over and seeing that she wasn’t dead, they didn’t ask any further questions and simply announced, ”The winner of this match is Luo Linlang.”

After a brief moment of silence, the crowd erupted into cheers!

Although today’s battle had been brutal, and even though Luo Linlang had won, in her current state she would certainly be unable to participate in the next match, her shot at the top three now gone.

Her victory ultimately changed nothing, yet everyone couldn’t help but cheer for her anyway.

It was only because Luo Linlang’s match today had shown them the flair of a true expert. That final, game-changing blow—although no one understood what happened, they all felt it was incredibly satisfying!

Bai Heng had been dissatisfied with the result and was about to question it, but before he could speak, he saw everyone erupt in cheers, and Sword Bu Gui was watching him with a smirk.

Bai Heng’s face immediately turned ashen. The words of protest died in his throat.

Then, without letting the Gold and Silver Gate’s Medical Cultivators treat Ye Zhiyao, he just gave a cold snort, turned, and left the venue carrying her.

Although he had left, the Gold and Silver Gate still had to give the public an explanation for him storming the stage.

So, another person then announced: ”Bai Heng and Ye Zhiyao of the Seven Emotions Sect have violated the rules of the Sword Seizing Conference. The Gold and Silver Gate hereby declares that for the next three hundred years, neither Bai Heng nor Ye Zhiyao will be permitted to participate in the Sword Seizing Conference in any capacity.”

Although Bai Heng had a noble status and was not someone to be trifled with, the biggest taboo in this kind of competition was special privileges.

The Gold and Silver Gate had to answer to the public, regardless of his status.

Hearing this ruling, everyone couldn’t help but cheer again, feeling it was immensely satisfying!

Lu Sangjiu, however, knew nothing of what was happening outside.

She was staying by Luo Linlang’s side, refusing to leave even an inch. Even when the Medical Cultivators said she was in the way, she resolutely refused to leave.

She knew very well that even if the general public couldn’t see the truth of the matter, those Divinity Transformation Stage Cultivators could definitely sense something.

The Word Spirit Technique was a legendary secret technique of immense power. With its sudden appearance today, there was no guarantee that someone wouldn’t develop malicious designs on Luo Linlang.

So, no matter what, she had to guard Luo Linlang closely and not give anyone an opportunity to take advantage!
