High Martial Arts: I Awaken a Low-Tier Martial System

Chapter 87: Chapter 85: Generous Benefits

After Tang Huochan left.

The candidates in the hall began to disperse one after another.

”Brother Jiang!”

The young man with a big head, Lin Yushu, walked over, looking at Jiang Ye with envy: ”Congratulations, you’ve become a Preparatory Star Professional!”

Being a Preparatory Star Professional can earn you extra points on the college entrance exam.

Even though he was confident about getting into one of the top ten schools, he still desired this very much.

The pain of his own failure was undeniable.

But Jiang Ye’s success made him feel even more conflicted.

In the most recent monthly exam, Jiang Ye only scored 690 points, right? Far lower than him.

Yet, he still secured the spot!

Thinking of this, Lin Yushu wore a complicated expression.

Jiang Ye patted his shoulder and comforted him: ”It’s okay, there’s always next year’s battle.”

”Next year, my college entrance examination will be over.” Lin Yushu shook his head.

He didn’t dwell on it further.

He said with a smile: ”Jiang Ye, if there’s a chance, we should definitely compete in the same realm.”

”I don’t believe I am really that far behind you!”

”Haha, sure.” Jiang Ye laughed.

...

After parting ways with Lin Yushu, Jiang Ye immediately headed toward the elevator.

At the elevator entrance, Su Tong’Er, Wanyao Yang, and Ye Xiuluo were all waiting for the elevator.

Seeing Jiang Ye approaching.

The group looked at him.

Wanyao Yang’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.

Earlier, he and Su Tong’Er had finished their assessments early.

So, they didn’t witness the scene where Jiang Ye fought Ye Xiuluo.

”This kid, what kind of luck did he stumble upon?” Wanyao Yang looked at Jiang Ye, snorted coldly inside.

Su Tong’Er walked up with her hands behind her back and smiled: ”I didn’t expect it; you actually beat that big bald Ye Xiuluo.”

”Just luck.” Jiang Ye smiled slightly.

”Luck?”

Su Tong’Er heard him say this, but she shook her head.

During a previous Shadow Race hunt, she had teamed up with Ye Xiuluo and had witnessed his strength.

”That big guy can’t be taken down with just luck.”

Su Tong’Er looked Jiang Ye up and down and said with a smile: ”Seems like I underestimated you before, Jiang Ye. Miss here has remembered you.”

Wanyao Yang heard this and thought to himself: ”This boy is doomed, got caught by Witch Tong, he’s bound to get trampled in the future...”

Beside him, Ye Xiuluo also looked at Jiang Ye sympathetically.

Jiang Ye didn’t mind, laughing: ”We’ll be colleagues in the future, please guide me.”

”Buzz~!” The elevator door opened.

The group entered the elevator together.

Heading to the 21st floor.

...

Examination Bureau building, 21st floor.

After the four walked out of the elevator, several staff members in formal attire immediately led Su Tong’Er and the others away.

Jiang Ye, however, didn’t see anyone coming for him.

Just as he was puzzled, a fiery figure appeared in his line of sight.

Tang Huochan beckoned him: ”Follow me.”

After speaking, she strode into an office with a seductive gait.

Seeing this, Jiang Ye quickly followed.

Entering the office.

”From now on, I’ll be your Preparatory Star Professional mentor.” Tang Huochan said straightforwardly, smiling: ”I’m Tang Huochan.”

Jiang Ye quickly said: ”Hello Sister Tang.”

Preparatory Star Professional is called ’Preparatory’ because it requires someone to lead.

Thus, the concept of mentorship is established.

Hearing Jiang Ye’s title, Tang Huochan looked at him unexpectedly.

She chuckled: ”I’m already 35 this year, you should call me Aunt instead.”

Jiang Ye was surprised: ”You look like you’re only 25, Sister Tang.”

”You’re quite the talker, little guy.” Tang Huochan’s red lips curled slightly, clearly pleased by his words.

She took out a contract and said: ”This is your exclusive contract for ten years.”

Jiang Ye immediately took it.

Tang Huochan smiled: ”Signing this contract is equivalent to joining the Federation’s ranks, take a good look.”

Jiang Ye felt a stir in his heart.

Joining the ranks!

A dream engrained in the blood of every Huaxia person.

Now, as just a high school student, he had already achieved this vision.

”Whew~”

Jiang Ye took a deep breath.

He opened the contract and began to read.

His academic performance had always been excellent, so reviewing it came easily.

”Level two Preparatory Star Professional contract, for ten years, if within ten years you achieve a Second Break, the contract will upgrade to a Star Professional contract.”

”If within ten years you don’t become a Star Professional, the contract will be void.”

”If your potential improves and is certified, the contract level can be further upgraded.”

”...”

A quick scan of the general content.

Jiang Ye quickly found the section on benefits within the exclusive contract.

”Level two Preparatory Star Professional contract: Monthly subsidy of one hundred thousand Federation currency.”

Just that short statement.

Concise and straightforward.

”One hundred thousand per month!?” Jiang Ye’s eyes widened.

He looked closely, and there was no condition attached.

Just these plain, simple words.

”Good!” Jiang Ye was excited; the monthly one hundred thousand alone was enough.

Knowing that his current monthly expenses don’t exceed fifty thousand.

If the monthly subsidy is one hundred thousand?

Before the college entrance exams in a few months, his improvement speed will surely increase again.

But before Jiang Ye could be happy for long.

He noticed the small text after this line.

”Starting from the third year, the monthly subsidy decreases by ten thousand and continues to decrease annually?” Jiang Ye was stunned.

Beside him, Tang Huochan seemed to know what he was thinking.

She smiled: ”The Preparatory Star Professional contract is intended to assist you in quickly becoming a Star Professional.”

”If after three years, you still haven’t achieved a Second Break, it indicates reduced potential, and the benefits will correspondingly lessen.”

Jiang Ye nodded, showing he understood.

Tang Huochan continued: ”The benefits shown on this contract are actually just a part.”

”Once you become a Preparatory Star Positioner, there will be many hidden perks too.” She laughed.

”Hidden perks?”

Jiang Ye’s eyes brightened, and he eagerly said: ”Please elaborate, Sister Tang.”

”For example, you can have three complimentary Star Sky Refinements every year.” Tang Huochan held up three slender fingers, smiling: ”Regarding trials, assessments related to being a Star Professional, all such expenses, the Federation will offer a certain degree of reduction.”

Jiang Ye showed a look of astonishment.

These hidden benefits were even larger than he imagined.

Not to mention.

Just the three free Star Sky Refinements alone are worth one hundred fifty thousand, matching his parents’ salary for nearly two years.

”And.” Tang Huochan continued: ”Preparatory Star Professional ranks are divided into five levels.”

”Originally, you’re only eligible to become a level one Preparatory Star Positioner.”

”But, considering your performance during the assessment, we promoted you to level two.”

She said with a smile: ”In the future, if you can demonstrate even higher potential, you might advance to a higher level and receive better benefits.”

”Level two Preparatory Star Professional?” Jiang Ye nodded.

This was mentioned in the contract.

Preparatory Star Professional ranks range from one to five, one being the lowest, five the highest.

Each rank comes with different benefits.

Thinking of this, Jiang Ye couldn’t help being curious: ”Sister Tang, what are the ranks of the other three?”

Tang Huochan smiled at him.

It wasn’t confidential information, so she answered: ”Ye Xiuluo is level one, Wanyao Yang is level two like you, and Su Tong’Er is level three.”

”Su Tong’Er, level three?” Jiang Ye nodded slightly, unsurprised.

In the previous chaos in Starry Sky, Su Tong’Er swept through the field with the fastest speed.

She was the first to complete the assessment.

That was still because she enjoyed putting people down, otherwise, she would be even faster.

Such prowess deserves level three.

Suddenly.

Jiang Ye remembered something and lifted his head to ask: ”By the way Sister Tang, how many extra points does becoming a Preparatory Star Professional add to the college entrance exam?”
