Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1613: Chapter 993: I Am Merely Here to Retrieve What Belongs to Me! (Part 2)

“Sect Master! The patrolling disciples have been killed!”

Yue Ming flew over, reporting with a grim expression.

“Sect Master, a large number of enemies have appeared within the sect!” Yue Su hurriedly flew over to report.

Yue Qing took a deep breath, “Elder Yue Ming, immediately request assistance from the Guest Elder Hall! Yue Su, come with me to control the array!”

Although it was still unclear who the enemy was, there was no time to worry about that now. They needed to help Yue E fend off the attacking enemies first.

The three quickly separated again. Yue Ming first went to Moon Mountain, asking the immortal cultivator disciples there to send a communication to the Guest Elder Hall on Mianyun Continent.

Since the establishment of the Guest Elder Hall on Hidden Sword Mountain, all the immortal cultivators from Illusion Moon Sect and Xuanqing Sect have been incorporated into the hall. At that time, Illusion Moon Sect had no immortal cultivator disciples, but over the years, it has trained a few, although the highest cultivation level is only Qi Refining Fifth Layer, they could still send a communication talisman for help.

Just after several communication talismans were sent, a misty fog appeared over Illusion Moon Sect.

The fog spread, and the bright moon became hazy.

In the next instant, countless jumping white shadows appeared within Illusion Moon Sect, they were Illusion Moon Foxes, hundreds and thousands of them.

The Sect Protection Array of Illusion Moon Sect is the Second Rank Top Grade Illusion Moon Heavenly Fox Array, utilizing the water vein of the Illusion Moon Fox, fusing Taiyin moonlight, nurturing thousands of Illusion Moon Fox Souls.

That’s right, they are Yin Souls.

Every death of an Illusion Moon Fox adds a Fox Soul to the Illusion Moon Heavenly Fox Array. These Fox Souls are nurtured at the bottom of Illusion Moon Lake, and once the array is activated, they surge from the lake bed, becoming the strongest protective force of Illusion Moon Sect.

Don’t think Illusion Moon Sect only has small foxes, they also have big foxes.

Over twenty Second-Order Illusion Moon Fox Yin Souls joined the battle, letting out roars and tearing into Zhang Mo and others.

“Hmph, Yin Souls, such petty tricks dare to show off in front of this old man!”

Zhang Mo showed a disdainful expression, holding a black bell in his hand.

The dinging sound rang, and a bizarre sound wave spread, causing the Yin Souls of the Illusion Moon Foxes to stagger drunkenly.

In terms of Yin Souls, Unpredictable Ghost Sect is the true connoisseur.

Illusion Moon Sect’s Illusion Moon Heavenly Fox Array might be strong against others, but against Zhang Mo, it was really just showing off.

In the hazy moonlight, Yue E’s face was ashen as she tangled with Yang Shenwu and Zhang Xian.

“Why, Predecessor Yue E, why resist? Wouldn’t it be better to submit to the great lord?”

“With the lord’s care, we can gain powerful strength and immortality, why struggle in vain?”

Zhang Xian said with a light smile.

In his view, Yue E was nothing but a fool who didn’t understand the situation.

What’s wrong with becoming a Ghost Soldier?

Aside from limited freedom, everything else would be better than cultivating alone.

Ghost Soldier’s strength can increase, and it’s easier to do so, although Ghost Soldiers are no longer cultivators, they cannot cultivate on their own and can only improve their strength using external means.

As for immortality, it is somewhat true; after becoming a Ghost Soldier, their bodies gradually turn into zombies, and any damage can be replaced using other corpses.

In Unpredictable Ghost Sect, the strongest Ghost Soldiers can even contend with a Golden Core Cultivator.

“Enough talk!” Yue E didn’t want to waste words with this bastard.

Becoming a Ghost Soldier might bring many benefits, but it also means losing much.

Freedom, humanity, self, and life.

Neither human nor ghost.

Ghost Soldiers are just puppets with some self-awareness.

And who is Yue E?

She is the Supreme Elder of Illusion Moon Sect, the lofty Yue E; her pride and arrogance would never allow her to become a puppet that is neither human nor ghost.

Illusion Moon Sect was in chaos, thousands of disciples were being massacred by Blood Puppets, and although Yue Qing controlled the Heavenly Fox Array to try and intercept, she still couldn’t change the situation.

Seeing this, Yue Qing’s eyes turned blood-red, tears of blood streaming.

“Yue Su!”

She gritted her teeth, squeezing out a word, “Kill!”

The situation Illusion Moon Sect faced had changed constantly over these years, several wars, several disasters, leaving the sect gradually declining under her leadership, growing resentment within her heart.

Among the Three Sects, Illusion Moon Sect is actually already the best.

Due to the Yang family’s involvement, Illusion Moon Sect has retained most of its power till now.

Yet undeniably, Illusion Moon Sect has truly fallen.

Yue Su stood before the Moon Viewing Tower, watching the battle upon the lake, gritting her teeth, she charged towards the battlefield.

This battle spells certain death, but she cannot retreat.

If the Illusion Moon Sect is going to be destroyed today, then she ought to die in battle within the Illusion Moon Sect.

Yue Qing looked at her thin and frail figure, her teeth clenching with a grinding sound, yet she dared not relax her control over the array plate.

Right now, with the Fox Soul still in place, the Illusion Moon Sect still has a chance to struggle.

Once the Fox Soul disperses, the Illusion Moon Sect will be left at the mercy of others.

At this moment, just as Yue Su was about to enter the battlefield, a brilliant golden light suddenly appeared in the misty night sky.

Swish swish swish~~

Countless golden lights rained down like a storm of arrows.

They pierced through layers of gray mist, shooting through the blood puppets slaughtering wantonly.

In the blink of an eye, the blood puppets shattered, turning into fragments of bright red blood.

Before anyone could react, another dazzling Geng Metal Sword Qi tore through the gloomy night sky and shot forward.

Duan Qiankun’s expression changed drastically as he saw the approaching Geng Metal Sword Qi. He pinched a spell, and layers of protective magic shields lit up, while he also raised a dark shield in front of him.

The speed of the Sword Qi was at its peak. The moment the shield appeared, the Sword Qi had already struck Duan Qiankun.

Crack crack~~

The protective magic shields shattered one after another, and with a bang, the dark shield instantly broke apart, as the dazzling Sword Qi pierced through Duan Qiankun’s body indestructibly.

Ah~~

Duan Qiankun let out a miserable scream.

Zhang Mo, who was about to make a move, had a change in expression, “Who?”

Yang Shenwu and Zhang Xian stopped tangling with Yue E and instead moved in front of Zhang Mo, preparing for defense.

The Geng Metal Sword Qi transformed into countless tiny Sword Qi, shredding Duan Qiankun’s body to pieces.

Flesh turned into scraps falling among the surging lake waters, mixed with torn cloth and hair.

Under the hazy moonlight, a hunched figure slowly floated down from Moon Mountain.

His speed was very slow, his steps heavy, and his movements appeared stiff, like a wooden figure, stumbling as he walked.

“The old man Jing Shui!”

Jing Shui raised his head, revealing a face as wrinkled as dead tree bark, with deeply sunken eye sockets and cloudy eyes devoid of any vitality.

“Yue E!”

“Master Jing Shui!” Yue E’s voice trembled slightly.

Is Jing Shui dead?

No one knew before.

Ever since Yang Zhenshan handed the Turtle Breath Pill to Jing Shui, Jing Shui secluded himself in a death retreat, entering his courtyard, activating the array, and never emerging again.

No one knew whether he was alive or dead, nor was anyone aware of his condition.

Even Yang Zhenshan wasn’t sure if he had died in his slumber.

Evidently, he wasn’t dead.

He was still alive.

“Heh heh, looks like you’ve run into trouble!” Jing Shui’s hoarse voice softened, reminiscent of how it once was.

Yue E’s eyes lowered slightly, “Yes, I didn’t expect to trouble you to make a move!”

“This old bag of bones, what’s there to fear about trouble!”

Jing Shui’s stiff gaze swept over Zhang Mo, Zhang Xian, and Yang Shenwu, pausing on Yang Shenwu.

“Yang Shenwu!”

“It seems many things happened during my long sleep!”

Zhang Mo’s face turned somewhat gloomy. He looked at Yang Shenwu and Zhang Xian, asking, “Who is he?”

Yang Shenwu replied deeply, “Master Jing Shui.”

“Didn’t you all say the Illusion Moon Sect had no Foundation Establishment Immortal Cultivators?” Zhang Mo wasn’t a reckless person. Since he decided to attack Yue E, he naturally investigated the situation of the Illusion Moon Sect.

“We thought he was long dead! His lifespan was running low!” Yang Shenwu responded helplessly.

Jing Shui had been missing for decades, roughly forty to fifty years in total.

Neither Yang Shenwu nor Zhang Xian believed Jing Shui was still alive.

Logically speaking, Jing Shui should have long since reached his end, even with the Turtle Breath Pill, he shouldn’t have lasted until now.

But there he was, still alive, despite appearing on the verge of death, he could still breathe, and he could still kill.
