Chaotic Sword God

By now, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and the half-man, half-serpent old man had entered a stalemate. For a short moment, neither of them could overwhelm the other.

If the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and the old man were the only two present, they would not necessarily reach a conclusion even if they fought for decades or even centuries.

However, Jian Chen was present as well!

At this moment, Jian Chen slowly raised the Heaven-lifting sword in his hand. As the Heaven-lifting sword shone with dazzling light, it hid the pulses of the Laws of Space.

As he swung his sword, the Laws of the Sword and the Laws of Space erupted simultaneously as if the sword had pierced space before instantly vanishing.

At that moment, he used the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike. The Heaven-lifting Sword and half of his forearm vanished from the space there. An invisible strand of sword Qi crossed the distance between the two, bypassing the old man’s defences and directly assaulting him inside his body.

The expression of the old man who was currently caught in a clash of souls with the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt suddenly changed. He felt a powerful strand of sword Qi erupt in his body, rampaging about and destroying his internal organs.

Normally, a strand of sword Qi of such strength would be nowhere near enough to heavily injure him. It would only be a small source of annoyance, but he was engaging the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt in a battle of souls currently. He was virtually using his full strength, with no more energy to deal with anything else. Under these circumstances, the damage from Jian Chen’s Shadowless Lifetaking Strike obviously increased.

Spurt! The old man opened his mouth and sprayed blood that contained pieces of his organs. His presence immediately waned.

In the next moment, he let out a pained grunt and staggered backwards. His face paled.

When he suffered those injuries, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt used the split-second opportunity to heavily-injure his soul.

It was possible to say that Jian Chen’s existence broke the balance between the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and the old man. His various methods were far too extraordinary. Even though he was incapable of heavily-injuring a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt through his strength alone, he still played an extremely great role if he supported on the side, enough to turn the tides of the battle.

“Sect master, destroy his body. If this person doesn’t have his body, I can destroy him with ease.” A hoarse voice rang out from the old man’s mouth. At this moment, the old man’s left eye projected his figure, while his right eye was occupied by the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt seemed to have gained control over half of the old man’s body already!

Jian Chen swung his sword and used the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike again. Instantly, another powerful strand of sword Qi erupted in the old man’s body.

But this time, the old man was prepared. Powerful vitality filled his body, guarding his organs.

He possessed the body of half a daemon, so his physique was much more powerful than other cultivators of the same level. Under his full-powered defences, Jian Chen’s second Shadowless Lifetaking Strike did not cause as much damage as the first one.

Jian Chen sensed this as well, so he stopped using the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike. He arrived in front of the old man with a flash and channelled his Chaotic Force into the Heaven-lifting sword, making it erupt with light. Afterwards, he swung it at the old man with full force.

Boom!

With a great rumble, the old man was knocked far away, only stopping when he slammed into a boulder several kilometres away.

He did not suffer any obvious wounds. His high quality god artifact armour woven from scales blocked Jian Chen’s attack.

At this moment, the god artifact dimmed. Its defences had been greatly reduced.

With a thought, the old man circulated his tremendous energy as a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, about to replenish the depleted energy of the armour.

If he powered a high quality god artifact armour with his cultivation, the defences would be so great that it would be well beyond anything that Jian Chen could overcome. It would be useless even if Jian Chen wielded the Heaven-lifting sword, another high quality god artifact.

Only his two trump cards, the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike and the Profound Sword Qi, could cause some issues to Immortal Exalts.

However, right when the old man was about to activate the defences of the armour, he began to tremble. Shortly afterwards, his tremendous energy that circulated about dissipated.

At that crucial moment, the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt got in his way, interfering with his control over his cultivation.

“Argh! Dammit! Damn you! Get out of my body!” the old man roared furiously and struck the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt with rage and fury. Two terrifying powers of souls clashed again and again violently.

Boom! Using the opportunity, Jian Chen’s Heaven-lifting sword shone with resplendent light and struck the old man again. The powerful force made the old man stagger backwards; his scale armour immediately stopped glowing. The defences that originated from it being a high quality god artifact had already vanished.

Shortly afterwards, Jian Chen slashed out again. Powerful Chaotic Force surged out. Under the Chaotic Force, the Heaven-lifting sword demonstrated might that even some Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperors would struggle to rival.

Normally, only Immortal Exalts could unleash the full power of high quality god artifacts. Even if some Immortal Emperors wielded high quality god artifacts, they could only make use of a small portion of their power. They could not wield them for long either, as it took an extremely great toll on their cultivation.

But at this moment, powered by Chaotic Force, the power unleashed by the Heaven-lifting sword had already reached seventy or eighty percent of its full potential.

With a grunt, the old man was sent flying yet again. The Heaven-lifting sword failed to pierce his high quality god artifact. It failed to even leave behind a mark.

Clearly, with Jian Chen’s current strength, destroying medium quality god artifacts was not an issue, but the strength of his attacks was still nowhere near enough to destroy high quality god artifacts.

However, the high quality god artifact on the old man had run out of energy, so all that remained was its original sturdiness. The great force behind each of Jian Chen’s attacks would penetrate the old man’s body in their entirety.

The old man let out a grunt; his body was severely impacted. His organs felt like they were about to rupture.

He possessed great energy inside him, but he could no longer spare any effort to mobilise it under the influence of the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt.

Half of his body had already fallen into the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s control.

“Hehehehe, sect master, keep going. Keep going. Put in a little more effort. Once his body is destroyed, he’ll be a rootless tree. Without his home court advantage, let’s see how he still stands a chance against me.” The old man let out a strange laugh.

But very soon, his laughter subsided as his face darkened. He yelled furiously, “You’re dreaming if you think you can kill me. Get out of my body…” A powerful presence swept into the surroundings. The energy in the old man’s body was like a volcano that had lain dormant for a very long time, about to erupt.

But in the next moment, another will suddenly appeared, fighting over the control of his body, which made the lively energy subside once again like it had been sealed in ice.

Jian Chen’s eyes shone with cold light. He struck out again and again, erupting with Chaotic Force each time. He unleashed thrust after thrust with the Heaven-lifting sword, erupting with sword Qi each time and causing quite a disturbance, like meteor showers forming a beautiful picture in the surroundings, illuminating the wilderness.

The old man was struck again and again. Under the heavy impact each time, his body hidden under the high quality god artifact crumbled piece by piece. His organs were ripped apart.

And, under the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s interference, he did not even have the strength to heal himself.

Boom!

At this moment, another rumble rang out. As Jian Chen slashed out, the old man’s body completely collapsed. The high quality god artifact armour on him fell to the ground limply.

“Argh! I’ll never spare you…” The old man ground his teeth and howled. His soul shone with blinding light before turning into a ball of fire that fled into the distance.

“Hehehehe, if you still had your body, you’d have a chance at escaping from me, but since you’re just a soul now, you’re going nowhere.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt laughed aloud. He was an expert in this field. Coupled with his advantage in cultivation, the old man who had been reduced to soul form seemed as feeble as a baby before him.

He opened his mouth and inhaled. The old man’s soul directly flew towards the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt uncontrollably.
