Ghost Catching System

Millions of Yin Army Soldiers were decimated by the terrifying army of Corpse Monsters, unable to withstand such numbers.

”Kill!”

Reinforcements from the Netherworld Hell arrived from all directions, joining the battle.

However, they couldn’t change the situation where the City Defense Formation was being destroyed.

”Break through and retreat.”

Finally, a Yanjun gave the order.

”Are we going to abandon this place?”

”We’ve lost.”

”Damned, these Corpse Monsters have gone berserk and can’t be stopped.”

There was no choice but to retreat.

At the same time, the battles among the Yanjuns had reached a critical juncture.

The phenomena above the void were terrifying beyond measure.

Who knew how many Foreign Ghosts had appeared?

All one could see was the depths of Fengdu, where strong beings continuously arrived, turning into streaks of light and joining the battlefield.

Their numbers were unprecedentedly high.

It was a remarkable scene.

”Feng Mo!”

With a sky-shaking roar filled with fear and despair.

A Ghost Cultivator of Yanjun level was torn apart by Feng Mo, shocking everyone.

A torrential blood rain descended from the sky, dyeing Fengdu City red, accompanied by the burning of Hellfire, amid a scene of Foreign Ghosts.

The fall of a Yanjun caused the sky to weep blood, as if Hell itself mourned.

”No!”

Someone shouted in disbelief that a Ghost Cultivator of Yanjun level had died.

The sky wept, shedding blood rain.

The scene was exceptionally frightening.

King Qin Guang was horrified, gritting his teeth, ”Feng Mo, you indeed hid your strength. Your power is very similar to the First Ghost.”

Feng Mo replied coldly, ”Are you talking about Qing Mo? I heard he died in the Yang Realm; the Yang Realm is indeed terrifying.”

King Qin Guang asked, ”What do you mean?”

Feng Mo said indifferently, ”Qing Mo’s strength is greater than mine.”

Such a powerful Feng Mo claimed that he couldn’t compare to the First Ghost, Qing Mo.

How terrifying Qing Mo must have been.

Yet, Qing Mo died in the Yang Realm.

King Qin Guang asked, ”What are you searching for?”

Feng Mo coldly replied, ”A glimmer of hope.”

What does that mean?

The heated battle continued, with the first fall of a Ghost Cultivator of Yanjun level, leaving the strong of the Underworld not daring to be careless.

This battle caused the heavens to darken and the earth to tremble.

...

Chu Hao fought his way through a bloody path, withdrawing with the main forces into the depths of Fengdu.

This battle lasted for three days and nights. Chu Hao didn’t even know how many Corpse Monsters he had killed, and even he, despite himself, was extremely exhausted. The Yin Soul Refining Book had been in constant use, and he had consumed too many Magic Recovery Potions.

Yet, the number of Corpse Monsters seemed endless, continuously emerging and re-emerging.

During this process, Chu Hao witnessed too much life and death.

The ghosts of Fengdu were slaughtered in large numbers.

He could only save a portion of them.

Finally, on the fourth day, the battle ended.

Now, Chu Hao found himself in another city, where the walls were even higher than at the frontier. This was the Third District of Fengdu.

It turned out that the Underworld didn’t have just one City Defense Formation; Fengdu was so vast that it had established a total of eighteen layers of City Defense Formations. The deeper one went, the stronger the formations became.

However, the First and Second Districts of Fengdu had already fallen, reportedly in utter chaos, occupied by the army of Corpse Monsters.

This was the first time since ancient times that the Netherworld Hell had felt the terror of Foreign Ghosts again.

It was said that, in the battle three days prior, five Foreign Ghosts appeared at the end, and there were more than ten Yanjun-level beings on the Underworld’s side.

Aside from King Qin Guang and the Equal King, there were four other Underworld Kings, along with other powerful Ghost Cultivators, forming a terrifying lineup.

Yet the five Foreign Ghosts were still superior.

The fall of two powerful Yanjun-level Ghost Cultivators dealt a huge blow to the Netherworld Hell.

That torrential blood rain lasted two nightly days.

The fall of the supreme powerhouses of the Underworld led to such a bizarre phenomenon occurring.

This battle.

The Netherworld Hell was defeated.

At this time, within the walls of the Third District, wounded Yin Soldiers were visible everywhere.

There were also a large number of displaced natives and ghosts.

Everyone’s mood was indescribably gloomy.

Chu Hao also felt a heavy heart. That level of battle was beyond his ability to participate in.

It’s unimaginable; if such monsters reached the Yang Realm, how could that be possible?

”An adult wants to see you,” a general approached Chu Hao.

It was General Nanweng Wafu’s personal guard. Chu Hao nodded slightly and headed to the corner of the Third District, where he met General Nanweng Wafu.

Elder Nan looked a bit weary; this battle had shaken their confidence.

”Sir, he has arrived.”

Elder Nan waved his hand, signaling the personal guard to leave.

Elder Nan said tiredly, ”This time, we lost.”

Chu Hao asked, ”Sir, don’t the Foreign Ghosts have weaknesses?”

Elder Nan said, ”Each Foreign Ghost has different weaknesses. To find their weaknesses, you’ll have to fight them. As you saw, I have something I want you to do.”

”What is it?”

Elder Nan said, ”This time, due to the Underworld’s defeat, morale is shaken. Orders from above indicate that some people will be sent to seek ancient legacies, which contain ways to deal with Foreign Ghosts. It’s a rare opportunity, so I recommended you.”

Chu Hao was stunned and said, ”Recommend me? I’m a living person. Is that suitable?”

Elder Nan said, ”There is no unsuitability. I can still speak a few words in the Underworld; it’s not just me recommending you, a Yanjun also recommended you.”

”Who?” Chu Hao was curious that a Yanjun knew him.

Elder Nan said, ”It is Lord King Chu Jiang.”

King Chu Jiang knew him?

Elder Nan said, ”You are alive and can move in and out of the Yang Realm, bringing us news of the Yang Realm’s Foreign Ghosts.”

”Furthermore, if you find a way to deal with Foreign Ghosts in the ruins, I hope you can bring it out. It would be best to solve The Fourth Netherworld Ghost; if he resurrects the First Ghost Qing Mo, it will be troublesome.”

So that’s how it is.

Chu Hao asked, ”Where are we going and when do we depart?”

Elder Nan said, ”This time, the place is special—the old Netherworld ruins in the Great Netherworld.”

Chu Hao froze.

The Great Netherworld?

This time, the destination was the Great Netherworld.

He had tried every means, but couldn’t enter the Great Netherworld, and now he had the chance.

Chu Hao was quietly excited.

His parents were in the Great Netherworld.

Elder Nan said, ”The old Netherworld ruins are peculiar. Only Ghost Asura-level can enter, and those with higher strength dare not enter. Even if a Yanjun went, it would be the same, or else they’d be targeted by an ominous curse.”

Chu Hao, surprised, asked, ”Even Yanjuns don’t dare to go? Is the old Netherworld really that peculiar? Will I be okay?”

”It’s very special. In a very ancient period, the old Netherworld was established within the Great Netherworld. Since the battle with the ancient Foreign Ghosts, that place has become ominous.”

Seeing Chu Hao remain silent, Elder Nan thought he was worried about safety.

Elder Nan said, ”This time, we’ll give you an amulet for protection. With it, the ominous curse of the old Netherworld won’t be able to detect you.”

Chu Hao resolutely said, ”I’ll go. When do we set off?”

This opportunity was incredibly rare; perhaps he could find his parents inside and bring them out for a family reunion.

Elder Nan said, ”In a month, during the Ghost Festival, the Great Netherworld will open.”

The Ghost Festival, also known as the Middle Ghost Festival.

After bidding farewell to Elder Nan.

Chu Hao arrived at his new residence.

He hadn’t rested for several days, and as soon as he lay on the bed, he quickly fell asleep.
