Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao sprinted all the way to the Ghost Gate Pass and found that it wasn’t completely closed; there was still a crack left open, and even through that crack a lot of Ghosts could slip in.

Chu Hao dashed forward, and the Netherworld Soldiers guarding the Ghost Gate Pass saw him and roared, ”Who goes there?! Stop!”

Chu Hao shouted back, ”I’m sworn brothers with the Yan Luo King, someone’s trying to kill me!”

The Netherworld Soldiers froze, obviously not believing Chu Hao’s words, and were about to intercept him.

Chu Hao didn’t care about any of that; his only shot at surviving now was inside that Ghost Gate Pass. The Underworld had a lot of Divine Deities; he could go beg them for help.

”Charge.”

Chu Hao went all in, rushing straight into the encirclement of Netherworld Soldiers, forcefully charging the Ghost Gate Pass.

If it were before, Chu Hao definitely wouldn’t have dared to do this, but now it was different; he broke through the Netherworld Soldiers’ encirclement and escaped into the Ghost Gate Pass.

The Netherworld Soldiers never expected Chu Hao to just rush through like that, and they actually couldn’t stop him.

”Enemy attack! Enemy attack!” the Netherworld Soldier guards bellowed.

Right now, the Underworld was at the highest state of alert because of the war with the Foreign Ghosts from the depths of the Land of the Vast Ancient. No matter where it was, the alert level was insanely high; even the Ghost Gate Pass had experts stationed there.

”Who dares storm the Ghost Gate Pass?!”

A black and a white Ghost Officiant appeared, tongues hanging long, high hats on their heads—weren’t they exactly Black and White Impermanence!

These two famous head Ghost Officiants of the Underworld were guarding the Ghost Gate Pass.

Seeing them, Chu Hao was overjoyed and shouted, ”You two elder bros, save me!”

Black and White Impermanence were also taken aback. When they saw Chu Hao, they frowned slightly—how did this kid end up in the Underworld?

White Impermanence waved his hand, and only then did large numbers of Netherworld Soldiers relax their vigilance. Clearly, their leaders knew this living person.

White Impermanence bit his tongue, his voice sharp as he said, ”You little brat, what are you doing down here? Don’t you know the Underworld isn’t safe these days?”

With his Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils, Chu Hao saw that the strength of this Black and White Impermanence wasn’t Ghost King Level at all, but actually Ghost Asura level.

Moreover, they were completely different from the Ghost Asuras he usually saw—it was like ten ordinary Ghost Asuras together still wouldn’t match one of them.

Chu Hao dove forward, hugging White Impermanence’s thigh and crying, ”Brother Bai, save me! A Foreign Ghost is chasing me!”

When Black and White Impermanence heard that, their faces changed drastically.

White Impermanence shouted, ”Alert! Foreign Ghost attack! Seal the Ghost Gate Pass!”

Only after the Ghost Gate Pass was sealed did Chu Hao finally let out a long breath.

”Scared the hell out of me.” Chu Hao wiped the sweat from his forehead.

With the Ghost Gate Pass sealed, Black and White Impermanence didn’t relax in the slightest; instead, they became even more vigilant.

”Come with me.”

White Impermanence led Chu Hao deep into the Ghost Gate Pass and arrived at the Impermanence Palace.

Inside the Impermanence Palace, White Impermanence stood two meters tall, a pair of smiling eyes fixed on Chu Hao. His face was always wearing a smile, giving no clue to joy, anger, sorrow, or happiness, as he said in puzzlement, ”Huh! Brother Chu, your strength has grown.”

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”Don’t bring it up. I only leveled up because I was getting hunted down—so damn unlucky. Thanks, Brother Bai.”

Hei Wuchang rarely spoke, like a sealed gourd, his face dark like someone owed him money.

White Impermanence asked, ”What’s the situation in the Human World? Why are you being hunted?”

Chu Hao explained the whole story, and when they heard about the Wangui Seal, Black and White Impermanence turned pale with shock.

”The Wangui Seal, King Biancheng’s lost treasure, actually ended up in the hands of a Foreign Ghost.” White Impermanence was seriously stunned.

Chu Hao nodded. He was exhausted now, took a sip of Yin Realm tea, and said, ”Exactly. I accidentally screwed up The Fourth Netherworld Ghost’s pawn on the board, and that bastard started hunting me down. Too damn unlucky.”

”It’s fine.” Hei Wuchang waved his hand.

Chu Hao looked at Hei Wuchang. What was he trying to say?

White Impermanence explained, ”Since you’ve made it here, just relax. The Ghost Gate Pass is guarded by the Underworld. Even Foreign Ghosts don’t dare invade lightly.”

”That’s great.” Chu Hao was pleasantly surprised.

After draining his Yin Realm tea in one go, Chu Hao finally asked, ”You two elder bros, what happened in the Underworld? Why is the Ghost Gate Pass sealed?”

White Impermanence’s smiling face let out a sigh. ”Our Yin Cao Netherworld isn’t having an easy time either. Foreign Ghosts from the depths of the Land of the Vast Ancient have invaded; the fighting’s fierce as hell. Eighty percent of our forces have been deployed to the Land of the Vast Ancient. Only we’re left to guard the Ghost Gate Pass to stop Foreign Ghosts from the Human World from coming down.”

So that was it.

The Yin Cao Netherworld wasn’t having it easy either; Foreign Ghosts were just too terrifying.

Chu Hao asked curiously, ”You two elder bros, weren’t you Ghost Kings before? How long has it even been, and you’ve already reached Ghost Asura?”

White Impermanence’s smiling face said, ”That’s something you don’t know. What you saw before in the Underworld were just our clones. Our true bodies have always been in closed-door cultivation in the Impermanence Palace. What you’re seeing now are our real bodies. If not for this mess, our true bodies wouldn’t have come out.”

No wonder—a single clone was already Ghost King Level. This Black and White Impermanence were definitely not to be messed with.

”Brother, how many Foreign Ghosts have appeared in the Land of the Vast Ancient?” Chu Hao asked.

Hei Wuchang said, ”Twelve.”

Twelve!

Just twelve Foreign Ghosts had turned the Yin Cao Netherworld upside down. How the hell broken were these Foreign Ghosts?

Seeing Chu Hao’s utterly shocked face, White Impermanence waved his hand and said, ”Don’t worry too much. Those twelve Foreign Ghosts are strong, but our Yin Cao Netherworld isn’t weak either. The Ten Halls of Yama, countless Hell Gods, the Five Emperors are there too, not to mention Ksitigarbha holding the fort. For now, they can’t kick up any real storm.”

Chu Hao gave a thumbs-up. ”Our Underworld is badass.”

White Impermanence said proudly, ”Of course.”

After that, Black and White Impermanence learned from Chu Hao about The Fourth Netherworld Ghost’s plan, and about the Netherworld Hell launching an attack.

White Impermanence snorted coldly, a chill flashing in his smiling eyes. ”Hmph! The Netherworld Hell is looking for death.”

Indeed, if the Netherworld Hell had to form an alliance, they chose the worst partner—actually teaming up with Foreign Ghosts. That was a huge taboo.

Chu Hao asked, ”Why isn’t the Ghost Gate Pass open? The Human World is totally messed up right now.”

White Impermanence frowned, then finally said, ”The Six Realms of Reincarnation has run into trouble.”

Chu Hao was startled. ”What happened?”

White Impermanence said, ”Strictly speaking, it’s the Heavenly Court that’s in trouble.”

Chu Hao was full of doubt. The Six Realms of Reincarnation had issues—what did that have to do with the Heavenly Court?

”The Demon Emperor wants to take back the Heavenly Court. The two sides are at a stalemate and even had a big battle not long ago. That’s no secret. As for the Six Reincarnation Paths, the authority over them is in Empress Houtu’s hands. Her Ladyship doesn’t want to get involved in the strife between the Heavenly Court and the Demon Emperor.”

”But the Heavenly Court wants Empress Houtu to pick a side. Anyone from the Demon Tribe is barred from entering reincarnation. That pissed Empress Houtu off, and she directly sealed the Six Realms of Reincarnation. Now neither the Heavenly Court nor the Demon Tribe can reincarnate.”

Fuck!

The Heavenly Court had nothing better to do than piss off Empress Houtu?

Chu Hao muttered, ”Empress Houtu is kinda petty, huh? If she seals the entire Six Realms of Reincarnation, won’t the whole world plunge into chaos?”

White Impermanence quickly covered Chu Hao’s mouth, wiping cold sweat as he said, ”There’s a lot you don’t understand. Don’t talk nonsense; you’ll bring disaster down on yourself.”

Chu Hao nodded, and only then did White Impermanence let go of his mouth, muttering, ”Right now the most important thing is to wipe out the Foreign Ghosts, isn’t it? And they’re still infighting? It’s really speechless.”

No helping it—the world of the big shots was beyond him.

White Impermanence said, ”The hard part is that the relationship between the Heavenly Court and the Demon Emperor is just too bad.”

Chu Hao had heard of the Heavenly Court more than once. It felt very distant and unreal. Back then, he’d never even imagined the Underworld was real.

The world was far more complicated than he’d believed. When you truly become stronger and look out over the world, you realize your past self was just a frog at the bottom of a well.

White Impermanence said, ”You just said the Green Demon wants to resurrect Qing Mo!”

Qing Mo was the First Ghost.
