Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Jaguar:

Everything had been going well. I thought I had finally done it.

I was resisting her.

I mean, it had only been one day, but I felt like I had done a great job.

I had not contacted her. I had not called her.

But the minute I saw her in the office building, I felt the same weirdness in my chest that I always did whenever I saw her.

I was intrigued, thirsty for her attention.

I tried my best not to let it happen.

However, the way she walked around with a smile on her lips, carrying files, made a tingling sensation spread through my chest.

Then Gigi’s problem came up, and everything else disappeared from my mind.

All I could think about was Gigi.

The way she broke down crying in our arms completely messed with my head.

If it had been up to me, I would have tracked down that crazy bastard and killed him.

Who was this person who had been so destroyed by his love for her?

I mean, of course, she was pretty. She was a good woman.

Anybody could fall for her.

But then a fear made my chest tighten.

That guy was attacking Verity, not because he was attacking women around Gigi, but probably because of Justin.

This man was in love with Gigi, so if he found out that it was Verity’s brother who had abused her in the past, he would definitely take his anger out on Verity for the sake of the woman he loved.

I knew I was thinking irrationally, but she was a target.

She was a million-dollar target.

Then Aster’s topic came up.

But before that, we had decided on a date.

Everything came crashing down on me when I saw Verity sitting with her date.

I had overheard her talking to Mrs. Baker about him, and honestly, I thought maybe she was doing it to irk me or to let me know she was not waiting around for me either.

Maybe she was annoyed because, to be honest, I had given her way too much attention and then suddenly taken it all away.

Little did I know, she did not give a fuck.

She had been telling me nonstop that we could not be together.

So, really, I could not blame her.

The blame was on me because I was the one trying to convince her that we should be together, and then I went behind her back.

So seeing her with someone else set my body on fire, and it was my fault.

I was the one at fault.

”This is a beautiful place, isn’t it?” Aster asked excitedly, rubbing her palms together as she picked up the menu card.

Meanwhile, I kept watching Verity from the corner of my eye.

She looked breathtakingly gorgeous.

The neckline of her dress gave a full view of her ample breasts, making desire throb inside me.

Then there were her soft, romantic features, her beautiful lips curved into a smile, and her eyes fixed on the man sitting across from her.

All in all, she was pissing me off.

Of course, I could not be angry with her. It was my fault, after all.

”So, you’re outgoing?” Verity asked him.

I had not particularly seen the man around before.

However, judging by the way he was dressed and carried himself, he could be of a higher rank.

Definitely nowhere near mine.

”Yeah. Why? You don’t like it?” he asked.

”No, it’s not that. I’m usually just a loner, but—”

Before she could finish, the rude man interrupted her.

”Well, that’s not always a bad thing. Loner people can do a lot with their alone time. I can be a loner with you, and together we can just stay in the apartment. I don’t mind. You’re a pretty intriguing woman. It would take hours before I got tired, if you know what I mean.”

His words made me clench my fists.

I’m not sure whether she understood what he meant, but I certainly did, and I did not like the way he was talking to her.

The man might as well have been drooling. I could tell from the way he spoke.

He wanted her in bed.

And naive Verity did not even realize it.

”Yeah, I understand. I mean, even when I’m alone at home, I get so much work done and never get tired.”

As expected, the comment had gone right over her head.

She was really slow when it came to these kinds of things.

That was because she was a virgin, had never had a boyfriend, and was incredibly innocent.

”Yeah, definitely. So, after tonight, what are we doing?” the man asked.

I started anxiously cracking my knuckles.

”What would you like to order? Or should I order for you? Because I still remember what you like,” Aster continued.

I growled under my breath. I was trying to focus on the conversation at the table beside us, and she kept interrupting.

”I’ll go home and do some work. I have a pretty important meeting on the 27th of this month,” Verity replied.

Not once did she acknowledge that I was sitting right across from her.

That was how immersed she was in the conversation.

”Ah, that sucks. But, well, good thing it’s on 27th. Aren’t you going to ask me over for coffee?”

The man was pretty bold, to be honest.

At that point, I wanted to tell him to slow down.

If a woman was not inviting you over, then do not try to pressure her into it.

”Well, would you like coffee?” Verity asked.

I slowly slapped my forehead and shook my head.

Did she not understand what this man was trying to do?

He was trying to get into her house so he could get between her legs.

Her beautiful legs.

”I would love coffee,” he said. ”So it’s decided. Once the night ends, I’m taking you home, and we’re having coffee there.”

The minute he said that, I decided that was it.

This was not going to work.

I was not going to let her lose her virginity to some fucker.

So I immediately grabbed my phone and began texting her.

I could literally hear my heart thundering in my ears.

Me: I know you’re supposed to be my brother’s secretary, but my secretary is on leave, and I need your help.

I sent the text, then watched her phone light up.

She smiled as she picked it up, but her smile quickly vanished.

She looked annoyed.

Did she?

Was I interrupting something?

Was this date really that intriguing?

Why hadn’t she smiled at the text? It was Jaguar, after all. Her Jaguar.

She stared at the message for a moment before letting out a sigh.

”I think we’ll have to delay the coffee,” she uttered, pouting at the man.

Meanwhile, I leaned back in my chair with a smile.
