Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 2037: Chapter 2037: Long-Delayed Homecoming (Part 4)

”What’s going on with Hang Chuzheng?”

”She actually got it right!”

”Her last score didn’t seem to pass, right? I think she must have seen the answer to this question somewhere. Didn’t she just flip through the book?”

”But it’s not in the book...”

The physics teacher felt a bit suspicious too, but as a teacher, he couldn’t say anything about it in front of so many people.

”Ahem... Hang Chuzheng got this question right. You can go back now. Let’s take a look at...”

Getting one question right, everyone thought Chuzheng just got lucky and didn’t think much of it.

Chuzheng returned to her seat and continued reading absent-mindedly.

The student next door glanced at her several times, initially thinking she was reading a comic book, only to discover after several minutes of observation that she was reading a physics book for the first-year students.

And she was reading very quickly...

Is she reading or just flipping through the pages?

The student next door scratched his head; with physics grades like that, can she even understand it?

Dongyang School values the high enrollment rate and has a great learning atmosphere, so even during break time, many students voluntarily stay in the classroom to work on exercises and homework.

However, things were chaotic over at the new teaching building.

They could hear the commotion over here.

Chuzheng was sitting by the window, where she could see the new teaching building.

But she could only see the outline of the new building; nothing else was visible.

”Big news, big news!!” A boy burst in through the back door, shouting loudly.

”What big news? Is it from over by the new teaching building?”

The boy said, ”Oh yes, I heard a student got into a fight with a teacher! Exciting, isn’t it!!”

Everyone exclaimed ”wow,” and then returned to their exercises and books.

”Why are you all like this? Aren’t you curious?”

”Curiosity can’t beat studying!” Someone chimed in: ”Studying makes progress, studying makes me happy!!!”

The boy: ”...”

Some weren’t curious, but others were, and they began to inquire about the situation.

According to the boy’s ’inside information,’ it happened over at Huahai Middle School; because a student’s appearance was deemed inappropriate, a teacher made a discovery, and they got into an argument.

Huahai Middle School is quite lenient, but Dongyang Middle School is different; students aren’t allowed to wear makeup, or dye their hair, and must wear the school uniform...

There are numerous rules.

Dongyang Middle School students have long been accustomed to such regulations, but those from Huahai Middle School couldn’t adapt.

Upon inspection, at least half the students in a class had issues.

Either not wearing uniforms, or wearing makeup, or dyeing their hair...

The incident escalated significantly, and by the second class, the school had made a full announcement.

And they ordered the others that by next week, if they hadn’t corrected the issues, it would no longer be just a warning.

Chuzheng only regarded this as gossip and didn’t take it to heart.

During afternoon break, Chuzheng used a pen and tapped a student sitting in front.

”Do you know where the drama club is?”

”Huh?”

-

Although Dongyang Middle School emphasizes studying, it also believes in a balance between work and leisure, sustaining various clubs to enrich students’ extracurricular hobbies.

However, the drama club was quite miserable, with very few members, now almost facing closure.

Chuzheng strolled outside the drama club.

”President, I think we should stop insisting, there’s really no need.”

”No way. How can the drama club end under my watch? How could I face the former seniors and juniors if it did!” said a girl with a loud and firm voice.

”...But we have no money and no people, isn’t it useless to keep going?”

Previously, they would apply for activity funds from the school, but now that they’re without members, the school flatly told them not to hold activities, let alone think about funds.

”Heaven never seals off all exits; I believe as long as we persist, there will be a turning point!”

Chuzheng pushed the door open and immediately saw a girl standing on the table.

The girl had her school uniform jacket tied around her waist and was using a rolled-up book as a microphone, and it was clear she’d just delivered that passionate speech.

And...

The audience was only two people.

A boy and a girl, lying on the table like wilting eggplants.

”President, come down quickly!” Chuzheng entered and the girl lying on the table, facing the door, was the first to see Chuzheng and immediately called their president.

”Why should I come down?” The president straightened her back and continued her speech: ”You all must believe in our drama club; it will definitely make it through! We are, after all...”

”Cough cough cough...” The boy covered his face: ”President, someone’s here! Come down quickly!” Please, stop embarrassing us!

The president: ”...”

The president froze for two seconds, then suddenly turned around.

She turned so quickly that she didn’t get a good footing and let out a sound as she fell to the ground.

Instinctively, the president protected her head, bracing for the pain.

But unfortunately, she didn’t feel pain; instead... there seemed to be something soft?

The president cautiously opened one eye to see a girl’s pleasant face.

The president instantly opened the other eye and exclaimed, ”Oh~ Are you an angel sent by heaven to save me?”

Chuzheng, the angel: ”You’re heavy.”

The president: ”...”

The president quickly got up: ”Sorry, are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

”I’m fine.”

”President, did you injure yourself in the fall?” The other two hurried over, asking worriedly.

”Are you wishing I’d get hurt so you can take my position?” the president feigned anger.

The boy’s mouth twitched: ”President, you can keep your throne, we don’t need it.”

With just four people in the club, it’s even less than the insect club next door.

Why four people?

There’s still one person missing.

”Who are you looking for, classmate?” The girl hurriedly changed the topic.

The president and the boy simultaneously looked over.

”I...”

”Classmate, you look special, with a rare talent; why not join our drama club?” The president eagerly pressed her.

”I...”

”Classmate, don’t worry, our drama club has simple members and a harmonious atmosphere; it’s a great place to relax after studying.”

”No...”

President: ”Don’t reject us so quickly, classmate, joining our drama club won’t be a loss, you won’t be deceived. If you join, I’ll immediately make you vice president!”

No!

Can I finish my sentence?

Chuzheng quickly spoke her lines before the president interrupted: ”I’m here to sponsor you.”

”Otherwise, I, the president...” The president paused: ”Classmate, what did you just say?”

Chuzheng patiently said, ”I’m sponsoring you.”

President: ”!!!”

Sponsorship!

The president’s eyes seemed to light up with dollar signs.

The president chuckled awkwardly after a moment: ”Classmate, you’re not just pulling our leg, right?”

Chuzheng looked serious: ”Do I look like I have time to waste?”

President: ”...”

The president blinked rapidly and took out her phone: ”Classmate, would you prefer to use WeChat or Alipay?”

”President!!”

”Calm down!”
