Chapter 799: Chapter 799: The Childhood Sweetheart Gets Married (25)

”Yao Chuzheng, Teacher Qiu is calling for you.”

Someone called out for Chuzheng outside the classroom.

”What does Teacher Qiu want with you?” Jiang Jin was even more nervous than Chuzheng, ”It couldn’t be that he found out Xu Qingzi did your homework, could it?”

Chuzheng had no clue.

After all this time without being discovered, surely she couldn’t be caught now?

Chuzheng went to Teacher Qiu’s office, where not only was Teacher Qiu, but also the principal and the director.

”...”

Even if they found out Xu Qingzi helped her with homework, this didn’t warrant a trial by three officials!

”Teacher Qiu, Director, Principal.”

Chuzheng greeted them without servility or arrogance—her heart pounding within.

Teacher Qiu nodded slightly, his face somewhat somber.

Chuzheng thought Teacher Qiu was throwing her a dirty look, but the next second, he turned away and sat down to mark homework.

The principal and director seemed a bit embarrassed.

Chuzheng: ”...”

”Student Yao, is it?” The principal coughed, his face stern, ”We’ve called you in to inform you of something.”

”What is it?”

”After discussion, the school has decided to proceed with your expulsion.”

”...” Chuzheng almost doubted her ears, ”What did you say?”

They were actually expelling her!

Having started, the principal spoke more smoothly, ”Recently, you caused quite a stir at school. Initially, you were admitted as an exception. Considering the negative impact you’ve created, we think...”

Chuzheng raised her hand, ”Wait a minute, this matter happened months ago, and now you’re telling me to leave school? You believe that’s a valid reason?”

Absurd!

Was this their way of dredging up the past?

The director rebuked, ”Student Yao, how can you speak to the principal like that!”

The principal raised his hand to stop the director, and spoke earnestly, ”Student Yao, when you were involved in underage romance, it became known throughout the school. We didn’t punish you at the time to save your face. Now, you have the option to withdraw.”

Expulsion and withdrawal were two entirely different concepts.

The principal thought he had already given her plenty of face.

Originally, Shang Yu wanted her directly expelled...

Chuzheng remained indifferent, her tone still cold, ”Yan Xiu also had an underage romance. Why didn’t you expel him?”

Why expel me alone?

Do I look like an easy target?!

It was all underage romance!

She demanded fair treatment!

Director: ”...”

Principal: ”...”

Actually, with little thought, Chuzheng understood the key point.

Her admission to Shengfeng High School had been facilitated by Shang Yu.

She had fought with Shang Lu yesterday.

Today she was notified of her expulsion; it must have been instigated by Shang Yu.

Chuzheng’s eyes flickered, and she spoke startlingly, ”Did you take bribes?”

The principal’s complexion changed dramatically.

”Yan Xiu is Yan Xiu, you are you; it’s not the same,” the principal said sternly, ”There’s no room for discussion on this matter. You must pack your things and leave immediately.”

”I wasn’t planning on discussing it with you either.”

Chuzheng’s tone was even, betraying no emotion.

Not waiting for the principal to get angry, Chuzheng left the office first.

”Teacher Qiu, you see this student, and you still speak well of her?!” The principal pointed to Chuzheng’s retreating figure.

Teacher Qiu was noncommittal, silently grading papers with his head down.

The director frowned at the principal, seemingly questioning what Chuzheng had just said.

Had the principal really taken a bribe?

The principal snorted coldly, instructing the director, ”Go and process her expulsion immediately.” Then he left the office brusquely.

The principal intended to expel her directly.

Teacher Qiu’s expression grew even gloomier.

-

”Yao Chuzheng is getting expelled.”

”Who said that?”

”Someone just heard it outside the office.”

”Why though? Why suddenly expel her out of nowhere?”

”It seems to be... underage romance?”

”She hasn’t been dating anyone recently...”

Chuzheng hadn’t even reached the classroom when the news that she would be expelled for early romance had already spread throughout the entire floor.

Upon her return, people in the classroom fell silent.

They each swept their gazes over her, observing Chuzheng’s reaction.

Chuzheng was exceptionally calm, as if the person being expelled wasn’t her.

”Xiao Chu, what’s going on?” Just a trip to the office, and now you’re being expelled? What’s this about early romance?

Xiao Chu hasn’t been—wait, that boy from the third middle school.

But even if they really were dating, this is across schools, why should the school expel her?

Jiang Jin was sweating with anxiety.

However, Chuzheng leisurely packed her things, not in a hurry at all.

”Xiao Chu, say something?!”

”It’s exactly what you’ve heard.” Chuzheng replied irritably when pressed for an answer, ”Digging up last term’s records, they say I’m in an early romance, expelling me.”

Jiang Jin widened her eyes, ”Has the school gone mad? When did all this even happen?!”

Is this how you dig up old accounts?

It’s simply insane!

”You’re really leaving?”

”If they want to expel me, what can I do?” Chuzheng’s tone was indifferent, ”One should have self-awareness.” It just so happened to be exam days, going away for a couple of days—thinking like that, the principal still seems quite sweet.

”It’s not...”

Jiang Jin followed Chuzheng around, chattering nonstop, voicing her indignation on behalf of Chuzheng.

Had Chuzheng not stopped her, Jiang Jin probably would have gone to argue with the principal herself.

The two left the academic building with quite a few onlookers gathering around.

”She’s really being expelled?”

”She’s leaving; it’s certain, yeah.”

”I’d say...”

”Tsk tsk, getting expelled, don’t find yourself with nowhere to cry.” Xiao Mei came with her entourage to see her off, gloating and mocking.

”Not beaten enough?” I also haven’t had enough.

Xiao Mei had intended to confront Chuzheng with a tough attitude.

But upon facing Chuzheng’s cold, unfeeling eyes, Xiao Mei just couldn’t help but feel daunted.

Xiao Mei left with a flushed face and her entourage in tow.

Right now, she’s the one being expelled, not me, why should I bother with her?

Thinking this way, Xiao Mei felt a bit better.

-

Jiang Jin grabbed Chuzheng, not letting her go.

She followed her all the way to the school gate.

Chuzheng pulled her arm free.

”Alright, I’ll be back in a couple of days. Don’t follow me, go back to class.” I can’t be the reason for your truancy.

”Xiao Chu...”

Chuzheng left the school gate without looking back, just waving her hand goodbye.

Chuzheng checked the school’s shareholders.

There were three in total.

Two of them were currently out of the country, unreachable, so now only one was left...

Chuzheng looked at the address.

She felt somewhat suffocated.

Did she have a grudge with this address?!

It was the Shang Yu family residence again!

Holding back the impulse to beat up someone at Shang Yu’s house, Chuzheng found the villa area behind.

Chuzheng glanced inside and pressed the doorbell.

”Who are you looking for?” A voice came from the intercom, sounding quite young.

”Ms. Deng Wanping.”

It took a while before someone came out of the villa, a young maid in an apron.

”Who are you?” The maid inspected Chuzheng through the iron gate.

Chuzheng’s demeanor was cold but polite, ”Yao Chuzheng. I need to discuss something with Ms. Deng Wanping.”

”Little Hu, who is it?”

The villa’s main gate.

A kindly looking old lady with silver hair, dressed simply, slowly emerged.

Chuzheng: ”...”

She took a step back, looked at the house number again, and scanned the surroundings.

It quickly overlapped with her memory of that night.
