Gathering Husbands with a System in a Game Like World [BL]

The instant the creature declared its intention the entire chamber moved, Caelum stepped forward, Dexter appeared directly in front of Kai, Elias casually shifted to Kai’s left, Nox opened his notebook, Midnight arched its back and let out a low growl, Kai simply stared.

”Why is are you all behaving like that? Why are you standing in front of me? And what even are you writing?”

Everyone stared back at him, Elias chuckled as usual and Kai’s eye twitched in turn.

Dexter folded his arms, ”Because it wants you.”

”It doesn’t want me.”

Elias glanced toward the creature, ”It specifically said it wanted you.”

”It said it wanted the blessing.”

”And You allegedly have the blessing so....”

”That’s not the point.”

”Seems like the point to me.”

The System interrupted

[Warning.]

[Preservation of the blessing has become a high-priority objective.]

Kai blinked.

I literally am aware you literally made a big announcement about it munites ago. Why did

You never tell me it was a blessing.

[You never asked.]

You could have volunteered the information, like you always do..or do you just pick and choose when to be annoying?

[You never requested the information.]

That’s ridiculous and you know it

[Acknowledged.]

Kai’s eye twitched.

For how long did you even know about this blessing?

[Since activation.]

Wonderful, just wonderful.

[Agreement acknowledged.]

The creature watched the exchange with visible interest, ”Curious.”

Kai looked up in panic, ”What are you curious about freak?”

”You can communicate with something.”

Kai’s eyes widened and to him the whole chamber immediately fell into an eeirly scilence, they all looked at him expecting answers, the System however remained perfectly calm.

[Observation acknowledged.]

Kai swallowed a ball of spit, the creature tilted its head, ”I cannot hear it.”

”That’s good. Kai immediately thought in relief,if he could hear the system, it could make defeating him very difficult.

”I can however perceive its influence. The influence of third person”

Kai’s expression darkened, ”You’re very annoying because whst the hell are you talking about?”

The creature slowly circled him, not once did it attempt to attack, not once did it shift its gaze away from him, ”Your protection is unusual.”

Kai folded his arms, ”So is your face.”

Elias laughed, Dexter sighed, Caelum looked as though he regretted coming to Voltra, Nox continued writing whatever he thought he was writing periodically looking around the disaster, the creature seemed delighted, ”Humour, annoyance, defiance, interesting.”

”Are you baffled by human expressions?” Caelum yelled.

”Does he even understand what that is?” Dexter asked confused.

But the entity didn’t say a word, he was just looking directly at Kai.

Kai pointed at himself, ”You know I’m standing right here, don’t you?”

”Yes.” The entity replied in a deep voice.

”Good, now could you please state Clearly your objective?”

The creature raised its hand, ”Allow me to show you.”

The world exploded into gold, warm light flooded the chamber, countless shimmering threads emerged from Kai’s body before drifting through the air like strands of sunlight, everyone froze, Kai stared, ”...What?”

The light was beautiful, no, beautiful wasn’t strong enough, the radiance was soft and warm yet somehow majestic, the golden threads danced around him before disappearing into the air, the creature’s smile widened, ”There it is.”

Caelum’s eyes narrowed, ”A divine blessing.”

Dexter looked astonished, ”That was coming from him?”

Nox’s pen stopped moving, ”Fascinating.”

Elias merely smiled, Kai turned toward him, ”What?”

”That explains quite a lot.”

”What does?”

”Why people lose their minds around you.”

Kai’s eye twitched, ”I am choosing to ignore that.”

”Wise decision.”

The creature slowly lowered its hand, ”Divine blessings are fragments of authority left behind by higher beings.”

Kai frowned, ”Higher beings?”

”Gods, spirits, ancient rulers, transcendent creatures.”

The creature’s smile faded slightly, ”They are acknowledgements, protections, bonds.”

Kai glanced at the golden threads still lingering in the air, ”And mine is particularly of ..?”

”Protection.”

The creature’s eyes gleamed, ”An extraordinarily powerful one.”

The System spoke immediately.

[Correction.]

[Classification incomplete.]

The creature paused, Kai blinked.

Incomplete?

[Correct.]

The creature smiled, ”Interesting.”

The System fell silent, Kai immediately became suspicious, the creature slowly continued speaking, ”Most blessings merely strengthen their bearers, yours does something more.”

”What?”

”It changes the world around you.”

Kai frowned, ”I don’t understand.”

”Naturally.”

The creature looked almost sympathetic, ”You are still young.”

”And you know all this because...?”

”I have existed for a very long time.”

A furious roar suddenly interrupted the conversation, the Curator staggered to his feet, blood covered his clothes, dust clung to his hair, his eyes burned with rage, ”You dare?”

The creature looked at him, ”Ah.”

The Curator’s voice trembled, ”I gave you life, you belong to me.”

The creature blinked, ”No.”

”I awakened you.”

”Also no.”

The Curator’s face twisted, ”I sacrificed everything!”

”That was your decision.”

”I devoted years to this!”

”Unfortunate.”

”I made you!”

The creature smiled, ”No.”

The Curator attacked, mana erupted from his body, runes ignited beneath his feet, the entire chamber trembled as countless streams of violet light converged around him, for the first time the Curator truly appeared powerful, the creature watched him quietly then it sighed, ”You misunderstand.”

The Curator lunged forward, the creature extended one finger, the world became silent, the Curator disappeared, there was no explosion, no scream, no blood, one moment he existed, the next moment he did not, the chamber fell completely still.

Dexter’s ears stood uptight immediately , Nox slowly lowered his notebook, Caelum tightened his grip on his sword, even Elias looked impressed, Kai simply stared, ”...What? Did he just?

”..made him vanish? Yeah ”

The creature lowered its hand, ”He was noisy.”

Elias nodded approvingly, ”That’s fair.”

The creature looked back at Kai, ”Now.”

Kai immediately pointed toward Caelum, ”Him.”

”No.”

”Dexter.”

”No.”

”Elias.”

”Absolutely not.”

Nox looked up from his notebook, ”I decline.”

The creature smiled, ”I wasn’t asking.”

The pressure in the chamber intensified, the golden threads surrounding Kai suddenly reappeared, the entire city trembled, the System spoke, its voice echoed through Kai’s mind.

[Warning.]

[Divine protection activated.]

Kai’s eyes widened.

Activated?

The creature looked upward, for the first time since awakening genuine surprise crossed its face, ”Oh.”
