Apocalypse Descends: I Win Effortlessly by Turning Trash into Treasure

After fishing out the ten cards that had undergone Ascension to five stars from the Emperor’s Liquid, Perry Yates used them to replace one thousand three-star cards in the Giant Creatures instance. Then, she used those one thousand three-star cards to replace ten thousand White Cards in the Cave Survival instance.

At the moment of the exchange, Perry Yates didn’t feel much of anything, but the key representing the Giant Creatures instance was gone.

To be precise, the key had fused into her body. Now, only she could open the Giant Creatures instance.

After the replacement was complete, Perry Yates took the three extra five-star cards. One of them was named Flame Barrier, a card with the Fire Attribute and Sun Attribute, its effect similar to Cold Moon Guardian. Another was Abyssal Roots.

After fusing the two cards with herself, Perry Yates took out the third card.

This card was a Three Attribute Card with the Light Attribute, Moon Attribute, and Sun Attribute, named Apex Explosion.

It could use the energy of the sun or moon to create a bomb, and then... BOOM!

The bomb’s destructive power was determined by the amount of Moonlight or Sunlight stored inside it.

After doing all this, Perry Yates closed her eyes, and everything within the Giant Creatures instance appeared in her mind.

For some reason, the humans in the Giant Creatures instance had disappeared, but the plants and animals still existed.

At this moment, the Giant Creatures instance was like a real-life Jurassic Park.

Except, the inhabitants weren’t dinosaurs, but a variety of other, equally massive things.

Perry Yates prepared to search the instance for the Emperor’s Liquid, but after searching for a long time, she found no trace of it.

However, Perry Yates soon realized that the previous times she had found Emperor’s Liquid, it hadn’t been on the surface. ’Perhaps the Emperor’s Liquid is underground.’

Just then, the system’s voice suddenly rang in her ear.

[Dear Dealer Player Perry Yates, the next round of the game will begin in one minute. This round will have no restrictions. Please prepare as quickly as possible.]

Perry Yates: ...

”Wait, why is it so soon this time!”

[Once a planet officially enters the survival game era, games will be fixed to occur once every ten days. Of course, Croupiers are an exception.]

Perry Yates: ...

’I feel like I’m being targeted.’

[This round’s game: Road Survival. Survival period: Thirty days. Number of players: 10,000. Number of NPCs: 00.]

’No NPCs in this game?’

Only after Perry Yates looked closer did she realize the two zeros meant infinity. In other words, the number of NPCs was unlimited.

As the seconds ticked by, Perry Yates looked down at the fluffy, one-piece bunny pajamas she was wearing.

Then she snapped her fingers and demonstrated what an ”instant outfit change” looked like.

After a dizzying whirl, when Perry Yates opened her eyes again, she was on a wide, empty highway.

At the same time, the system’s voice rang out once more.

[Welcome, Player Perry Yates, to this game instance, Road Survival. The current instance survival guide is as follows:

1: At the start of the game, you may freely choose a vehicle (the vehicle must be one provided by the system).

’Which means I can’t use my own.’

2: You cannot turn around on the highway. Violators will be immediately eliminated.

3: Treasure boxes will appear randomly on both sides of the highway. Players can obtain items they need from the treasure boxes, including but not limited to: food, materials, fuel, cards, weapons, or even monsters.

4: Monsters do not appear during the day. Night is their active time in the wild, so please do not go outside.

5: Please keep your vehicle well-fueled, as it is your only shelter.

6: Vehicles can be upgraded. An advanced vehicle will be your most important asset in this game.

7: In this round, you can communicate with other players and exchange survival resources, but be careful not to get scammed.]

Perry Yates read through all the rules in one go and committed them to memory.

’This is the first time I’ve seen so many rules right at the start of a game.’

After looking around and confirming there was no immediate danger, Perry Yates prepared to choose her vehicle.

’The rules said the vehicle is a player’s only shelter in the game, so I definitely have to choose carefully.’

Perry Yates’s first thought was an RV, but after some consideration, she gave up on the idea. The reason was simple: although an RV had a large capacity and made life more comfortable, it also consumed a lot of gas. If she couldn’t find fuel before it ran out, she would be stuck pushing the RV.

So she abandoned the RV option.

Large vehicles used too much fuel, so Perry Yates decided to focus on smaller cars instead.

’Besides, I’m not short on daily necessities; all my supplies are stored in my spatial item.’

With that, her requirements for a vehicle became: low fuel consumption, high maneuverability, and just enough space for her to live in.

’As for safety? Please. I have two five-star cards, Cold Moon Guardian and Flame Barrier. I’m not afraid even if a real monster gets close.’

’Besides, a small car has another advantage: if I run out of fuel and can’t find more, it’ll be much easier to push.’

After she clicked ”confirm,” a small, silver car appeared in front of Perry Yates.

From a selection of small cars, she had picked the best-looking one. To be honest, she didn’t really understand performance specs and didn’t even know the car’s name.

”Well, as long as it drives, it’s fine.”

Perry Yates shrugged nonchalantly. Expecting a girl like her to know about car models and such was really asking too much.

She checked the fuel gauge. ’Hm, it’s full. That’s good enough.’

After getting in the car, Perry Yates didn’t start it immediately. Instead, she opened the chat channel that came with the vehicle.

’To be honest, this is the first time I’ve been able to chat with other players through an official channel during a game.’

When she opened the chat channel, messages inside were scrolling by frantically.

Perry Yates glanced at the top-left corner and was immediately stunned by the number she saw there.

9,876,786?

’Almost ten million people?’

’Most importantly, after the number, there were parentheses with the words ”District D” inside.’

”No wonder they put infinity for the number of NPCs.”

’Trying to find just ten thousand players among almost ten million people is like finding a needle in a haystack.’

[Cassock Oh Cassock: I just got a pair of white gloves from a treasure box. Who wants them? Only costs one loaf of bread.]

[Little Bee: The guy above is a total shark, wanting a loaf of bread for a pair of white gloves. I have a pair of cotton gloves; I only want half a loaf.]

...

’Hmm? Looks pretty lively.’

Perry Yates closed the chat, started the car, and slowly pulled onto the road.
