Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4133 This, I swear! II

Then, Ruination appeared. A crimson wheel of endings materialized around her, and she bellowed, directing all her possible endings, all her immense power, to meet the impending strike!

Above them all, Moiraine paradoxically appeared, her eyes shining with a paradoxical rage. She began to burn her very paradoxical nature for power, her form a beacon of defiance.

Even further above, Sigrid appeared as if Order had ordained for her to be at the forefront.

Her face was a mask of cold fury, her forehead splitting open as a bony Eye of Order, a resplendent white pupil at its center, rose to meet the attack.

It shot out a beam of Order, a pure, white light to oppose the killing strike. And then, a howl. Yoshinamiʼs spider form appeared beside them, her many eyes shining with a terrible defiance as she howled out war cry that transcended sound!

An illusion of Heidrun, her lustrous white-gold fur glowing, appeared beside Yoshinami, her hooves raised in a gesture of challenge!

Titanoʼs simple eyes remained simple, but he slapped his chest with a boom that created tremors in the air, and began to enlarge, his form seeking to encompass and cover everyone.

All of them arose. They could all die, but he could not. Not their Master, not the one who had brought them to this glorious place!

Noah saw all of this in slow motion, his existence howling, raging at the absurdity of it all.

And worst of all, in that moment of collective defiance... his mother, Amelia Osmont, appeared beside him.

Beside him!

She had no immense power, no special abilities to offer.

She was simply his mother.

But her presence was a truth that could not be denied, a vulnerability that Noah could not bear. ”OOOH!”

He howled out with all of his existence!

Waves of blue mana, a sea of infinite mana, erupted from his body.

Infinite. Expanding. Pure!

No Fear. No Doubt!

They were filled with emotion, with rage, a rage that asked, Why? Why, after he had done everything, had he not been enough?

Why, after he had given everything, was he still powerless in the face of this immense light?!

And then, his mind buzzed with a singular thought.

He... had not given everything. Not his Everything. Not yet.

For his family. For his people. For himself. He would give Everything in exchange for their survival. ”I give...” he began to speak, his voice a roaring declaration against the inevitable.

But then, a sigh. It echoed out, a sound of immense sadness, and a small figure, Khor, appeared above everyone.

Her eyes were filled with a chilly, melancholic light as she looked upon the scene with a profound distaste. ”Gilgamesh,” she uttered, the name a curse on her lips.

Her small figure moved ahead of everyone, appearing as a delicate, almost ethereal being in the face of the massive, terrifying white light.

She opened her mouth.

And with a sense of sadness, of melancholy so deep it would drown the soul, she said, ”I Hunger. Therefore I am.” ...!

BOOOM!

The light of the killing strike crashed down. The small figure of Khor ate up nearly all of it, her mouth an abyss of inevitability that consumed not just light, but the very authority of the attack.

But a portion of the light was too fast, too pure in its malice. It phased through her, a tiny, almost infinitesimal fraction of the original beam.

It was so small, so insignificant, yet it smashed into Noah.

BOOM!

His figure was flung back, and he crashed onto the Early Veiled Shore, creating a massive indentation and crack in the golden sand.

The white light disappeared, and an immense silence settled over the Shore.

All eyes, wide with horror and a dawning understanding of what had just transpired, were on Khor in the skies, and Noah down below.

In the skies was Khor.

She looked...unbelievably frail. After she had swallowed that light, her skin expanded and then contracted as if millions of needles had erupted from within.

Obsidian-crimson blood gushed from her, and her figure seemed desolate, lifeless.

She began to fall, like a feather from a broken wing!

And down below...

Noah felt an immense, terrifying pain coursing throughout his existence as he was battered by the attack that felt like a branding.

The pain was not a physical one...it was a conceptual, synaptic pain that transcended any sensation he had ever experienced.

It was the pain of his very essence being violated by a strike that was never meant for him, and a blow that his power could not defend against.

But he was not looking at the prompts that were now filling his vision, his entire focus was on Khor.

You have avoided complete collapse regardless of how many paradoxical lives you could have given up.

Across countless distances, the degraded authority of The First Leader, Gilgamesh, was left idle seeking the signature of your existence, and it had finaly found you now. [This authority had been degrading for eons, but was still enough to achieve the bidding of Gilgamesh who was curious of the entity who seemed to traverse across Folds themlseves.

This authority was merely that...of curiosity as it was not even a true attack.

Nearly all of it was devoured by Khor, the First Hunger.

A small portion struck you as on your existence, the Curse of Curiosity of The First Leader has been branded onto you.

This curse reduces the power of your existence and Everything permanently by half until the curiosity of the First Leader is satiated.

Negative effects include: Inability to forge new Glyphs, reduced effectiveness of existing distinctions, and a constant, low-grade existential hum of curiosity following your every move. ...!

The prompts were heavy.

But even in the face of these terrifying prompts, his eyes remained locked on

Khor.

He flew out of the crater, his existence howling with rage, towards her delicate, broken form.

All of those who rose to defend him looked on with maddened, somber eyes.

Silence. Not a single voice rang out. It was as if existence itself was mourning the sacrifice of a being that had chosen to be a shield, to protect what it had just found!
