Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 813: Chapter 815 A Sincere Plea for Fulfillment_1

Bai Yihong subconsciously looked towards his daughter and asked, ”What’s going on? Why is a maid crying in the house?”

Bai Ruozhu immediately denied it, although their home didn’t have the strict rules of a grand manor, it was still unheard of for a maid to cry and create such a ruckus, wasn’t the sound too piercing? One would think someone was crying at a funeral if they didn’t know any better.

She shivered and said to her father, ”Let’s hurry in and see.”

As they pushed the door open and entered, they saw a young girl kneeling in the yard crying loudly, while Wan Caiyue stood in front of her, appearing somewhat unsteady. If it weren’t for Lin Ping’er supporting her, she might have fallen down already.

A cold light flashed in Bai Ruozhu’s eyes. ”Which Xiaoning is this? Does this girl have a death wish? She keeps challenging my bottom line.”

”What are you wailing about here? Who let her in? Throw her out!” Bai Ruozhu commanded sharply.

The maids in the house were startled; they rarely saw the young miss lose her temper. Coming back to their senses, they immediately went to drive Xiaoning out. Xiaoning, kneeling on the ground, refused to get up and cried even more bitterly.

”If the lady doesn’t keep me, Xiaoning only has one path left—to die!” she said as she suddenly stood up. The maid who was going to pull her was caught off guard and was knocked down.

Xiaoning’s face showed a resolute expression, and she forcefully threw herself towards the corner of the stone table in the yard. Fortunately, there were other maids nearby who grabbed her, and in the end, she only bruised her forehead on the stone table, causing a little swelling.

Wan Caiyue, with a kind heart, screamed in fright, her body swaying again.

Bai Ruozhu hurriedly stepped forward to support Wan Caiyue and said, ”Sister-in-law, don’t be influenced by others. My brother didn’t mean to keep this from you, he truly has nothing to do with her; there’s nothing worth hiding.”

Lin Ping’er, red-eyed with urgency, said hastily, ”Quickly tell your sister-in-law what happened, or what will we do if you make her upset?”

Bai Ruozhu gently stroked Wan Caiyue’s back, soothing her through some acupoints, fearing that her emotions might harm the Fetal Qi.

”I know about this matter. A few days ago, my brother happened to pass by the clinic and saw this child helpless to find treatment for her father. He kindly lent her some money, which brought her father’s illness under control. Later she said she wanted to repay my brother, and since her embroidery work was excellent, she joined the Jade Pendant Embroidery House as an embroiderer. Who knew she was so scheming; she confessed to my brother and was rejected, then she tried to hang herself in the shop. Afterwards, I sent her home. Yet despite that, she had the audacity to come here and cause trouble,” Bai Ruozhu explained succinctly.

”My brother has no feelings for her and didn’t want to worry you; that’s why he didn’t mention it. Sister-in-law, please don’t misunderstand my brother.”

Lin Ping’er also added hurriedly, ”Yes, you know the kind of person our boss is; he definitely wouldn’t get entangled with such a person. Just look at how she’s making a scene at our doorstep, you can tell she’s shameless.”

Wan Caiyue’s face looked somewhat better, and just as she was about to speak, Xiaoning cried out again, ”It’s not true, the Young Master gave me a Jade Pendant; he has feelings for me. It’s the young miss who is acting like a heartbreaker, forcibly separating us. I know I shouldn’t hold vain hopes, but just to be able to see the Young Master every day, I’m willing to be a maid! I beg the lady to show mercy and take me in.”

Xiaoning, saying this, knelt down on the ground and crawled towards Wan Caiyue, kneel-walking.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but spit in disgust, ”Be a maid? The manor already has enough maids. If you really want to be a maid in the Bai Family, the only place for you would be the manor outside the city. Do you really just want to be a maid? And about that Jade Pendant, I trust my brother’s character; don’t let me find out how you got hold of the Jade Pendant, or I will definitely report to the officer that you’ve stolen it and slandered the family.”

Bai Yihong stood by, watching with urgency. He was clumsy with words when it came to consoling his daughter-in-law, and as for dealing with the maid, the other party was a woman after all. Upon hearing the conversation, he immediately said, ”Our family cannot tolerate a maid with such ill intentions. She just has her eyes on the Bai Family’s wealth and is determined to latch onto Zehao at all costs.”

”Xiaoning is truly devoted to the Young Master and dares not utter a single falsehood. This Jade Pendant was indeed a gift from the Young Master. Miss, Boss, I’m kowtowing to you, I implore you not to make things difficult for me anymore,” Xiaoning said as she began kowtowing to Bai Ruozhu.

Wan Caiyue’s face turned even paler because the Jade Pendant was indeed Bai Zehao’s.

”Cui Fan, send someone to bring back the Young Master immediately. Make it quick. Have the Young Master speak to her personally and make her give up hope once and for all,” Bai Ruozhu instructed Cui Fan.

”Yes, I will take people and go now,” Cui Fan obeyed the order and left with several guards in tow.

Xiaoning continued to kowtow, her mouth repeating, ”The Young Master cares for me. He’s just intimidated by the Miss. Please don’t pressure him any longer. He must be in pain too. Xiaoning asks for nothing more. I’m willing to work like an ox or a horse.”

Lin Pinger sneered and said to Bai Ruozhu, ”Before you came back, she even claimed that she would hang herself for the Young Master. Once people found out, if our family wouldn’t take her in, she wouldn’t be able to marry anyone else. She’d be left with no choice but death, causing a scene over here, threatening to take her life.”

The maid quickly came over to explain, ”She was weeping and wailing at the Main Gate, attracting quite a crowd of onlookers, so we had no choice but to report to the old lady.”

Bai Ruozhu’s face turned cold. For someone like Xiaoning, the right move would be to give her a concoction that made her foolish. If it wasn’t for considering her severely ill father who needed her care, she truly deserved to be dealt with directly.

However, that would be letting her off too easily. The matter hadn’t been clarified, and if she turned foolish, she would inadvertently gain people’s sympathy. Bai Ruozhu’s hand, which was inside her sleeve, withdrew.

She took Wan Caiyue’s arm with a gentle voice, ”Big Sister, let’s go to the house and sit down. Have some soup to nourish yourself. There’s no need to watch her act here.”

Wan Caiyue nodded, neither making a fuss nor getting upset, allowing Bai Ruozhu and Lin Pinger to support her into the Main house.

Bai Ruozhu made a secret signal to the maids, indicating that they should block the door and not let her in. Xiaoning was really shameless, crawling on her knees to the doorstep of the Main house and breaking into heart-wrenching sobs.

If it were a girl with any dignity, she would have left after being treated this way. If she truly cared for Bai Zehao, considering his feelings, she wouldn’t have deliberately created a scene at the Bai Family’s Main Gate. Didn’t she care about ruining the reputation of the one she loved?

So, what she coveted was the Bai family’s wealth, not Bai Zehao himself.

Bai Ruozhu instructed a maid to bring in stewed soup, with a bowl for each person in the room. She spoke unhurriedly, ”Come, let’s all have some soup and ignore the shameless one outside.”

After Bai Yihong had his soup, he was still uneasy and said to Wan Caiyue, ”Caiyue, I understand the Boss better than anyone. He’s not that kind of person. It’s clear that the one outside is scheming against the Boss. His good intentions this time have really backfired.”

Wan Caiyue smiled at her father-in-law and said, ”Dad, don’t worry. It will be clear once we figure it out. I trust Zehao.”
