Chapter 1935: I’ll Live

The Gnome did not know how Grey who he felt was within an arms length suddenly seemed so far away. He hurriedly swung his spear around, hoping to stop Grey from coming close.

Bam!

The Gnome’s spear might have missed the target, Grey’s fist did not miss its target. Punching the face of the Gnome, causing his teeth to fall to the ground accompanied by a pool of blood.

‘Huh?’ The Gnome did not understand what was happening. Grey should have been standing in front of him trading blows with him, so how come his spear missed the target whereas Grey’s fist connected with his head. Did this not mean Grey was close by?

Looking at Grey, he noticed a gash on his chest, the wound was from a spear swung wildly. When the Gnome realized his spear was not connecting with its supposed target, he wildly swung the spear around in a bid to make sure Grey did not get close. His spear was sharp enough to cut a gash on Grey’s chest, unfortunately the wound was not deep enough to cause Grey any life-threatening danger.

Grey’s punch made the face of the Gnome cave in, cracking his skull in the process.

Holding his head with one hand, the Gnome felt like his head was about to explode from the pain he was feeling after receiving Grey’s punch. Even his vision became blurry from the pain.

Gritting his teeth, he tapped into his life essence, targeting Grey, he lunged out. He could tell escaping was out of the picture, since that was the case, then he would kill the one who made it impossible for him to escape.

Sensing a life-threatening aura coming from the Gnome, Grey knew the Gnome was about to use his strongest technique to take him down. Looking down at the injury on his chest, he frowned. His space domain could give others the illusion that he was close by yet so far and vice versa. He secretly employed it just as his initial punch was about to land on the Gnome’s chest, to his surprise, the Gnome did not sense the difference until it was too late. He attributed the Gnome’s negligence to his weakened state of mind which is normal after suffering to such a level.

The Gnome’s figure expanded with veins popping up on his hand grabbing the spear, he thrust the spear forward, stabbing over a hundred times in the space of a second.

Grey dodged the attacks in a flustered state, barely able to keep up with the speed of the stabs from the Gnome. When the Gnome stopped his hand movement, a series of cut marks appeared on Grey’s body, his appearance cutting a sorry figure.

The Gnome did not stop after this attack, the black mist became thicker when it appeared this time, enveloping only Grey.

Covered by the mist, Grey did not panic, knowing this was the Gnome’s way of pinpointing his location. The Gnome’s spear continued to stab out, with occasional implosion from space wherever the spear stabbed in the mist.

Grey did not expect the spear to have the power to even affect space, adding the danger of the space tears and the spear coming from unconventional angles, he felt pressured as he dealt with the attacks.

The attacks did not continue for more than a few seconds before the strong auras Grey sensed approaching arrived. As soon as the auras arrived, the Gnome was unable to continue his attacks as he tried to retreat.

“Do you think you can run with us here now?” A cold voice asked the escaping Gnome.

Another cold harrumph also sounded into Grey’s ear, and by the time he came out from the mist, he saw the figure of the escaping Gnome crashing to the ground. He was not even able to put up any fight against the two figures who just arrived. They were both Peak Sovereigns, people the Gnome would only be able to fight one on one when he was in full strength, in his current state, one of them is enough to deal with him, much less the two at the same time.

Filled with despair and anguish, he turned his hate-filled gaze to Grey, gnashing his remaining teeth so hard that his mouth started to bleed again.

The two Peak Sovereigns did not care where the Gnome’s gaze was directed to, all they wanted was his death. This expedition was not what they expected, losing a few of their companions in the process; if they had not come with enough Half God Plane experts, they would have all been wiped out.

Grey went back to meet up with Chris who had his hand over Klaus’ shoulder. He rushed over and asked, “Teacher, how is your condition?”

“I’ve been worse, I’ll live.” Chris replied, panting in-between his words.

Grey turned to Klaus, seeing that he was in pristine condition. It was almost like he did not engage in this battle. Taking a look at his appearance, he shook his head with a wry smile. The Gnome’s final spear attack cut him up in different parts of his body, even his face had cut marks. Taking out one of the best healing tonics he had with him, he downed its content, passing one to his Teacher as well before looking for a spot to take a sit and recuperate. The two Peak Sovereigns still gave chase after killing the Peak Gnome Grey delayed.

Grey could faintly sense the aura of a Peak Sovereign Gnome a few kilometers from here, only he did not dare to go help out in his current condition. He had been engaged in battle since they engaged the Gnomes and he had suffered from a variety of injuries during the fight, especially against the two Peak Sovereign Gnomes he exchanged blows with. The Old Gnome cracked a few of his ribs, while the last Gnome he fought caused a lot of surface level injuries. The cuts from the Gnome’s spear were deadly, and he could sense that the places cut with the spear had faint signs of poisoning.
