Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Hou Zi narrowed his eyes. A sharp cold glint suddenly appeared in the depth of his eyes. When he released his force of presence, the atmosphere in the entire room became tense. ”Really? Why do I feel that you seemed to recognize me just now? I might be thinking too much then.”

”You’re thinking too much. I’m just a student. I don’t have much interaction with the outside world so it’s impossible for me to know you. As for Xia Jinyuan, he never mentioned you in front of me.”

His force of presence not only caused the atmosphere to become tense, but there was also a chill in it. The Hou Zi now wasn’t the person who came in at the start and spoke lazily and casually. He was the Third Master Hou of the underground world now.

In front of Third Master Hou, Ye Jian continued answering in a composed manner. There wasn’t any tinge of fear in her expression or her gaze.

Hou Zi started laughing immediately. ”Xia family’s Old Sixth has good vision, not bad. This young lady is not bad either. I might not have met a young lady as interesting as you. You don’t have to be so polite. You can just call me Brother Zi like how Old Sixth calls me.”

He was still suspicious but since she spoke about Old Sixth, she was telling him that she didn’t have any other intentions. She was asking him to not worry about her.

Smart, knows her ground, and very composed. She doesn’t heedlessly brown-nose people too.

If she actually knew who he was, she shouldn’t be so calm. She should either be afraid or attempt to flatter him. But, she didn’t do either of it. Thus, even though he was still suspicious, Hou Zi decided that it wasn’t worth mentioning.

Ye Jian heaved a sigh of relief in her heart. She looked at Hou Zi and said politely, ”Okay, Brother Zi. If I still need any help later, I might have to trouble you.”

”Sure, sure. Since Old Sixth brought you to my place, he might be thinking of letting me protect you too. If you need anything, you can call me anytime. You can change your room if you want too.” When a woman becomes forthright, it feels even more refreshing than when a man does it. When this young lady that Old Sixth liked became candid, Hou Zi kind of liked her.

There weren’t many people that he liked. When you reached his age, you would have a higher expectation of the people around you. It got easier for you to see through people too. Hence, liking someone really depended a lot on fate.

Since he liked this young lady, he should follow fate and recognize her as his younger sister.

Ye Jian’s eyes moved when she heard what he said. Captain Xia specially brought her here because he was worried that Ye Zhifan would come and find her for trouble.

He was so thoughtful towards her. If Grandma Ye didn’t come and look for her today, she wouldn’t know that Captain Xia had specifically chosen to stay in this hotel.

”That’s too troublesome. I’m really thankful. If I need anything else, I will not be polite and will trouble you again.” Ye Jian didn’t know how to interact with the people in the underground world. However, her instinct told her that it was better to be more straightforward. No one liked people who didn’t mean what they said.

Also, she was the one who called the front desk and asked the hotel to send people to handle her situation.

After listening to her reply, The smile on Hou Zi’s beautiful face turned deeper. At 37 years old, he already had crow’s feet at the end of his eyes. However, he looked even more charismatic than when he was young.

His entire body was exuding the aura of a person of high authority. There was also an elegance around him. This was the elegance of a person with power. Hou Zi was at the prime of his age. He was the ideal husband of many women.

”I don’t need a young lady like you to be polite with me either. In the future, if you meet any trouble you can’t handle in the Southern Province, you can come to Hotel Caesar and find me or give me a call. One word and Brother Zi will settle everything for you. I can’t let you call me Brother Zi for nothing.”
