Heaven-Surpassing Divine Emperor

Word quickly spread that Jiang Chen had become the Sect Master of the Sword Sect and renamed it the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect.

As the top sect in the Saint Martial Dynasty, both the grand reopening of the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect and Jiang Chen’s ascension ceremony required meticulous preparation.

All the masters within the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect began the hurried preparations.

As for Jiang Chen...

After becoming the Sect Master of the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect, he decisively issued several new sect rules.

First: Effective immediately, the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect would no longer have the Ten Halls. Instead, an Elder Council and a Supreme Law Enforcement Hall, which answered only to the Sect Master, would be formed.

The Elder Council would be responsible for managing the Sect’s affairs.

It would be led by Bai Lingfei, with the former Elders of the Ten Halls and some of the most outstanding disciples serving as members of the Elder Council. Any decision would require a vote within the Elder Council and could only be implemented after gaining a majority approval.

As for the Supreme Law Enforcement Hall, it would be composed of the former Ten Hall Masters, with Lui Chuanchang acting as Steward!

The Elder Council managed the Sect’s affairs, while the Supreme Law Enforcement Hall was responsible for supervising the Elder Council. The two would keep each other in check, preventing situations like the formation of self-serving factions.

Second: All disciples of the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect would have to obtain resources by completing corresponding Sect missions and exchanging them for Merit Points.

This rule further standardized and reinforced the system that was already in place within the former Saint Martial Sword Sect.

This would ensure that every disciple received resources more fairly!

It would prevent situations like in the past, where factions among disciples or disciples from a particular Hall would line their own pockets.

Third: All disciples of the Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect are forbidden from killing one another. If there are truly irreconcilable conflicts and grievances, they must apply to the Supreme Law Enforcement Hall to settle the score on the Blood Battle Arena!

This way, situations from the past like infighting, killing, and assassinations between disciples of different factions would also be curbed.

This would promote a virtuous cycle within the Sect.

The release of these and other similar rules indeed sent ripples through the sect, arousing the dissatisfaction of many powerful figures.

But under the firm hand of Jiang Chen, Bai Lingfei, and Lui Chuanchang, everyone had no choice but to grit their teeth and accept the changes.

While the entire Heaven-Soaring Saint Sect was quickly getting into gear, Jiang Chen was summoned by Bai Yetao to the Tenth Hall’s Void Realm.

This was the Lingxi Tower of the Void Realm!

Jiang Chen looked at Bai Yetao in confusion. ”Elder Bai, didn’t you say you were taking me to see my father? Why did you bring me here?”

Bai Yetao said, ”Your father is here...”

”Father is here?”

Jiang Chen froze.

’Could his father, Jiang Taixu, really be hiding inside?’ he wondered, staring at the Lingxi Tower before him in disbelief.

Seeing Jiang Chen’s impatience to rush inside, Bai Yetao quickly grabbed him and said with a wry smile, ”What’s the rush? At least wait until I’m finished...”

”Ah? Please, go on...” Jiang Chen said hastily, looking embarrassed.

Bai Yetao shook his head and said, ”What I meant was that before your father left all those years ago, he instructed me to leave something for you. It’s on the top floor of this Lingxi Tower.”

”Something my father left? He isn’t actually here?” Jiang Chen pressed.

Bai Yetao said, ”Your father isn’t here. Eight years ago, after he hastily left the Sword Sect, he never returned.”

”Elder Bai, what kind of person was my father, really? Why is it that you, Tu Shanhe, and the others seem to know him, but when I asked other people, they knew nothing about him?” Jiang Chen suppressed the excitement and shock in his heart, asking the question that had weighed on him for years.

”Your father... He was a hero without equal... and a fiend beyond compare...”

Bai Yetao’s voice trembled slightly. A brilliant light flashed in his eyes, his whole body seemed to shake, and his expression was one of utmost reverence. ”When your father entered the Sword Sect back then, it took him a mere three months to step into the Union Palace Realm and become a titan. Back then, Tu Shanhe was already a titan at the Union Palace Realm Eighth Stage. He fought your father and was defeated in a single move. That is why he has always hated your father, but also fears him immensely...”

Bai Yetao was lost in his memories.

Jiang Chen, however, was completely dumbfounded!

’Three months?’

’To reach the Union Palace Realm?’

’Holy shit!’

’Was he even human?’

’Oh, no, I shouldn’t talk about my own father like that...’

”Father’s talent was that terrifying? I thought reaching the Heavenly Destiny Realm Ninth Stage in just over two years was already incredible, but I never expected Father to be even more monstrous...” Jiang Chen muttered to himself, his eyes shining with pride and honor.

’That’s my father, after all!’

”Yes, ’terrifying’ is the only word to describe his talent!”

”Back then, before your father broke through to the Union Palace Realm, he was an extremely low-key person. No more than ten people in the entire Saint Martial Sword Sect knew of him. Moreover, after he entered the Union Palace Realm, his actions became even more mysterious. He made many arrangements before leaving the Saint Martial Sword Sect. Before he left, he left me a letter, as well as something for you, hidden in the Lingxi Tower.”

Bai Yetao nodded with deep emotion and continued, ”That letter contained information about you. He instructed that it was only to be opened six years after his departure. It was only then that I learned of your existence and sent Bai Ling to bring you here!”

Jiang Chen nodded.

Then he asked, ”Elder Bai, do you know where my father went?”

”I don’t know. It was as if he vanished into thin air. I’ve tried to find him over the years, but I’ve never had any luck!” Bai Yetao shook his head, then said, ”Jiang Chen, your father is a hero of his generation. I believe he is definitely still alive somewhere in this world. With your strength, you will surely make a name for yourself in the future. I believe you and your father will one day be reunited!”

”Yes!”

Jiang Chen affirmed resolutely. He vowed in his heart, ’Father, I will find you!’

Bai Yetao said, ”Alright, I’ve told you everything I need to. Go on to the top floor of the Lingxi Tower. What your father left for you is there!”

Jiang Chen nodded and stepped into the Lingxi Tower.

He was filled with excitement.

After entering the Lingxi Tower, Jiang Chen went straight to the top floor. This was a place that even Bai Lingfei couldn’t normally enter. The last time Jiang Chen had been in the Lingxi Tower, he had tried to enter the top floor but was blocked at the door. Now, however, his path was unobstructed, and he went straight in.

BUZZ!

The moment Jiang Chen stepped onto the top floor, a bright light suddenly rose up in the empty space, coalescing into a figure as tall and straight as a pine tree.

He was like the blazing sun in the sky.

Like a fiend that could shake the world.

The moment he appeared, he seemed to become the core of the entire world!

Jiang Chen’s eyes instantly blurred. Even though it had been over eight years since they last met, he still remembered that familiar figure and face. His voice choked with emotion as he called out the word he had held back for eight long years: ”Father...”

”Little Chen, you’ve grown so tall!” Jiang Taixu said with a gentle smile.

”Father, I’ve finally found you!”

Jiang Chen leaped forward, but he passed right through Jiang Taixu’s body, which made him freeze in surprise.

Jiang Taixu laughed, reached out a glowing hand, and gently patted Jiang Chen’s head. ”Silly child,” he chuckled, ”this is just a Spiritual Thought I left behind back then.”

”Father, where have you been all these years?” Jiang Chen asked.

”Where have I been? That is not something you need to know right now...” Jiang Taixu smiled and continued, ”Little one, this Spiritual Thought of mine can’t last for long, so I’ll make it quick. You should have already received the item the Saint Master gave you, right? Take it out.”

”Huh?”

Jiang Chen was taken aback. ”Father, how do you know the Saint Master gave me something? Do you know the Saint Master?”

”Know him? Hmm, I suppose you could say that!”

Jiang Taixu chuckled but didn’t elaborate, urging, ”Hurry up and take it out!”

Jiang Chen immediately took out the brocade box. ”I tried to open it, but I couldn’t.”

Mystical runes flowed across the surface of the black brocade box.

”Of course you can’t open it. I have the key!”

With a flip of his hand, Jiang Taixu produced a golden key that shot out and sank into the brocade box. With a crisp CLICK, the box sprang open, and a heaven-piercing Sword Qi surged out from within.

SWISH...

A piece of a jet-black broken sword flew out of the box on its own.

It was the tip of a sword!

Jiang Chen’s eyes widened with a strange sense of familiarity. A terrifying power surged inside him, and his God-slaying Sword uncontrollably left his body, appearing before him. The moment it did, the broken sword tip hummed, shot forward, and fused with the God-slaying Sword.

The God-slaying Sword was originally a Martial Soul, an illusory blade.

But after fusing with this sword tip, it became increasingly corporeal. The tip, in particular, now radiated an incomparably sharp Sword Aura.

The sharpness of the sword tip alone already surpassed that of any Profound Weapon Jiang Chen had ever seen!

It was heart-stopping!

”Now that you have the sword tip, your bloodline awakening is not far off.”

Jiang Taixu smiled in reassurance.

Jiang Chen asked doubtfully, ”Bloodline awakening? Father, is there something special about my bloodline?”

Jiang Taixu just smiled faintly without answering. ”Little Chen, I know you have many questions, but now is not the time for you to know the truth. Some secrets can only be known once you possess sufficient strength. Before then, you must live well and strive to become stronger, understand?”

As Jiang Taixu spoke, his figure slowly grew transparent and faint.

As if he could disappear at any moment.

Jiang Chen said urgently, ”Father, don’t go...”

”Silly boy, I hope that one day, we, father and son, can truly be reunited!” Jiang Taixu said with a smile.

Jiang Chen shouted, his face full of anxiety, ”Father, where can I find you? Tell me...”

Jiang Taixu’s figure had almost completely vanished. With a sudden POP, it shattered into specks of light that rained down. Only a faint, intermittent voice echoed in his ears: ”If you wish to find me, go to Zhongzhou... Heaven-Reaching Divine Peak...”

”Father...”

Jiang Chen yelled, but he could no longer see Jiang Taixu’s figure. He gasped for air, staring at the spot where Jiang Taixu had disappeared. Clenching his fists, his eyes burned with determination. ’Zhongzhou’s Heaven-Reaching Divine Peak? Father, don’t worry. I will go to the Heaven-Reaching Divine Peak. I will find you!’
