Return of the Celestial King

At Qin Tuo’s words, Daoist Mie Xu’s face filled with utter despair.

’He knew he was utterly finished this time!’

Meanwhile, Daoist Chi Xu was overcome with ecstasy, thanking him profusely.

”Thank you, Mr. Qin...”

Daoist Chi Xu turned, a cold sneer on his face, and slowly advanced.

Daoist Mie Xu kept backing away, his voice trembling with terror.

”Martial Brother, please don’t! We’re from the same temple, after all. How can you have the heart to kill me?”

Daoist Chi Xu gritted his teeth, his voice laced with grief as he spoke:

”Hah! You remember we’re martial brothers now? Why didn’t you think of our bond when you killed Second Martial Brother?”

The words were barely out of his mouth before Daoist Chi Xu, consumed by rage, smashed his fist heavily into Daoist Mie Xu’s head.

”No, don’t!”

Daoist Mie Xu screamed desperately.

However, having been previously wounded by that blast of Spiritual Power from Qin Tuo, he now lacked the strength to fight back.

With a single punch, Daoist Chi Xu knocked Daoist Mie Xu unconscious!

But because of his own prior injuries, Daoist Chi Xu only managed to knock his traitorous martial brother unconscious, not kill him.

”Die, traitor!”

”This fist is for my brother! This fist is for the innocent souls of Taixu Temple! This fist is for Xiaoyuan...”

Daoist Chi Xu let out a beast-like roar, his emotions spiraling completely out of control.

Fist after fist, he relentlessly pummeled Daoist Mie Xu’s body.

Finally, he beat Daoist Mie Xu’s head until it burst open like a smashed watermelon, splattering red and white matter all over the ground.

The gruesome scene was so horrific that Xiaoyuan couldn’t bear to watch any longer.

After killing Daoist Mie Xu, Daoist Chi Xu collapsed to the ground, legs splayed, and began to wail his heart out.

After his tears ran dry, he began to laugh...

Eventually, his emotions subsided, and he slowly walked over to Qin Tuo.

”Xiaoyuan, kneel to Mr. Qin and thank him properly!”

Daoist Chi Xu said solemnly, taking the lead by kneeling himself.

Xiaoyuan nodded eagerly and prepared to kneel before Qin Tuo as well.

But Qin Tuo immediately shook his head, refusing.

”What are you two doing? Please, get up!”

Seeing their insistence, Qin Tuo released a subtle stream of Spiritual Power, holding them up and physically preventing them from bending their knees.

The pair once again felt the sheer depth of Qin Tuo’s Spiritual Power, and a fresh wave of astonishment washed over them.

Qin Tuo suggested,

”Now that things here are settled, let’s head back to Taixu Temple.”

Xiaoyuan nodded. She, too, wanted to return to the temple to visit her father’s grave.

The three of them returned in silence to Taixu Temple on Ice Spring Mountain.

Upon returning to the Daoist temple, Xiaoyuan immediately asked to be led to her father’s grave.

When she reached the cemetery, Xiaoyuan’s mouth fell open in a silent sob!

She slowly sank to her knees, clutching Daoist Chongxu’s tombstone as she began to weep uncontrollably.

Her cries were so heart-wrenching it was painful to hear!

Qin Tuo and Daoist Chi Xu were both rendered speechless. They could only stand by her in silence, unsure how to offer any comfort.

At length, Qin Tuo couldn’t help but ask,

”Daoist Chi Xu, what are your plans now?”

Daoist Chi Xu simply shook his head and said with a desolate air,

”I am but a humble cultivator. The world is my home. You needn’t worry about me, Mr. Qin.”

Still, after a moment’s thought, Qin Tuo couldn’t resist saying,

”Daoist Chi Xu, how about this? If you two don’t have a place to stay, I can arrange accommodations for you in Ming City. What do you think?”

With his current means, Qin Tuo could easily provide for them for the rest of their lives.

However, Daoist Chi Xu shook his head and declined the offer.

”Mr. Qin, we truly couldn’t impose. Taixu Temple is no longer a home for us. I plan to wander the world with Xiaoyuan, with the sky for our blanket and the earth for our bed. Is that not a form of freedom?”

Hearing this, Qin Tuo was momentarily at a loss for words.

’Everyone has their own path to choose. Since Daoist Chi Xu was unwilling to be shackled by the mortal world and chose a life of freedom, Qin Tuo would not stand in his way.’

”Very well. Please take good care of Xiaoyuan. And if you ever need help with anything, you can always find me in Ming City.”

Qin Tuo made his promise to him directly.

Daoist Chi Xu nodded firmly, his eyes filled with gratitude.

’From start to finish, Qin Tuo had been instrumental, even helping him achieve his great revenge.’

’Now, Daoist Chi Xu could only curse himself for his own blindness, for having so badly misjudged Qin Tuo.’

At this thought, something occurred to Daoist Chi Xu, and he quickly took out the Purple Gold Gourd.

”Oh? Daoist Chi Xu, what is this?”

Qin Tuo couldn’t help but ask.

Daoist Chi Xu replied earnestly,

”Mr. Qin, you were the one who gave me this Purple Gold Gourd in the first place. It’s only right that I return it to its original owner.”

’It was clear that Daoist Chi Xu was quite fond of the treasure, but he understood that since it had come from Qin Tuo, it was only proper to return it.’

But Qin Tuo just shook his head with a small smile.

”Daoist Chi Xu, this gourd is of no use to me. Why don’t you keep it as a gift?”

Daoist Chi Xu was aghast and quickly waved his hands in protest.

”I can’t possibly accept this, Mr. Qin! How could I deprive you of such a precious treasure?”

But Qin Tuo simply smiled and explained,

”That’s not it, Daoist Chi Xu. There’s something you don’t know. This Purple Gold Gourd can be used to regularly draw out the cold energy from Xiaoyuan’s body. As long as she avoids any Land of Extreme Yin, her condition won’t flare up again.”

Daoist Chi Xu was stunned. He never imagined the Purple Gold Gourd had such a wonderful use.

Just then, Qin Tuo called Xiaoyuan over to demonstrate.

Xiaoyuan was still heartbroken and not quite herself.

But gradually, a look of surprise appeared on her face...

As Qin Tuo used the Purple Gold Gourd to slowly draw some of the cold energy out of her body, Xiaoyuan instantly felt a sense of relief and comfort spread through her.

”Xiaoyuan, from now on, have Daoist Chi Xu use this gourd to draw out the cold energy for you.”

Qin Tuo said with a smile.

However, Xiaoyuan frowned and replied,

”Brother Qin Tuo, that’s not right... this gourd is a high-grade treasure. How could I possibly take it from you?”

But Qin Tuo insisted,

”How about this, Xiaoyuan? For now, use the gourd to manage the cold energy. When I become powerful enough in the future, I’ll find a way to free you from the side effects of your Taiyin Body completely.”

Since Qin Tuo had put it that way, Xiaoyuan obediently nodded.

She looked at Qin Tuo, her eyes filled with a deep reluctance to leave.

”Brother Qin Tuo, I promise I’ll come back and find you one day!”

Before she left, Xiaoyuan looked up with her big, beautiful eyes and said earnestly.

Qin Tuo smiled, nodded, and patted Xiaoyuan on the head.

”Alright. I’ll be here waiting for you.”

And with that, Daoist Chi Xu led Xiaoyuan away. The uncle and niece slowly departed from Taixu Temple.
