Chaotic Sword God

“Senior brother Ye, this fellow is truly powerful. This time, we only managed to repel the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon due to this fellow’s assistance.” A burly man walked over with over a dozen Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals around him. He smiled from ear to ear and was extremely enthusiastic, except his gaze towards Jing Mumu was filled with wariness.

His name was Lang Shan, a peak Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal. He was not as powerful as Ye kai, but he was still one of the core disciples that stood at the very top in the Black Demon Palace.

“Junior brother Lang, let me introduce her to you. This is fellow Jing. Fellow Jing is someone that great elder Xue personally introduced over to protect our Black Demon Palace,” Ye Kai said enthusiastically. He no longer had the courage to say that Jing Mumu was someone they had to protect.

With her startling feats of slaughtering several dozen Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon, there probably were not many people in the entire Taiji mountain range that had the strength to match Jing Mumu in battle.

That kind of strength was already enough for her to do as she pleased in the Taiji mountain range. Why would she still need protection?

When they heard Ye Kai’s words, many of the disciples from the Black Demon Palace were overcome with strange expressions. Who would have ever thought that as a group of Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals, they would need the protection of a Xuan Immortal?

However, none of them could rebuke something so absurd either.

Following this battle, Jing Mumu’s status grew substantially. She earned the respect of all the disciples from the Black Demon Palace. Even Sheng Zhiyi and Sheng Zhibai had grown fearful of Jing Mumu, no longer possessing the courage to converse with her. Even when they interjected every now and then, they would be extremely careful with what they said.

“Fellow Jing, what are your next plans?” After a simple exchange of courteous words, Ye Kai asked carefully.

“My goal for entering the Taiji mountain range is to collect Taiji spiritual Qi, so I’ll obviously focus on collecting Taiji spiritual Qi now,” answered Jing Mumu before subconsciously glancing at the spiritual Qi spring in the distance.

Coincidentally, more Taiji spiritual Qi emerged from the spring. There were a total of three strands.

Seeing this, none of the disciples of the Black Demon Palace did anything. They only stared at the three strands of Taiji spiritual Qi without moving.

It was not that they were not interested. From the fervour in their eyes, they clearly wanted to claim it for themselves. However, Jing Mumu’s existence had prevented them from acting carelessly.

Jing Mumu’s eyes shone. She was also interested.

After a moment of hesitation, Ye Kai swung his hand and trapped the three strands of Taiji spiritual Qi in his hand with pure energy. Afterwards, he passed two of them to Jing Mumu and said sternly, “Fellow Jing, this spring will produce several hundred strands of Taiji spiritual Qi at the very least. We’ll give you two thirds of everything that emerges next and our Black Demon Palace will take the last remaining third. Is that fine?”

Jing Mumu smiled sweetly and said easily, “I can’t let you suffer too much. How about this? We’ll go half and half on the Taiji spiritual Qi.”

“Alright, then that’s that!” Ye Kai’s eyes lit up and agreed happily.

Jing Mumu accepted the two strands of Taiji spiritual Qi from Ye Kai and began refining them.

The three-hundred-odd disciples of the Black Demon Palace scattered across the surroundings. They all crossed their legs and sat down. Some of them seized every moment to heal, while others ingested pills to recover their energy. No one had any objections over the decision to give away half of the Taiji spiritual Qi.

They were all aware that if it were not for Jing Mumu, their Black Demon Palace would not have been able to claim this spiritual Qi spring at all.

Very soon, Jing Mumu completely refined the two strands of Taiji spiritual Qi. Jing Mumu felt her entire body become even lighter. A sense of understanding welled up inside her as if a brand-new door was about to open.

She was already extremely close to Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal. The barrier blocking her path ahead was about to shatter.

“It’s still not enough. I need even more Taiji spiritual Qi,” Jing Mumu thought to herself. Actually, having come so far already, she only needed some time for consolidation to reach Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal sooner or later. However, she had no choice but to absorb even more Taiji spiritual Qi to accelerate the process.

Afterwards, everyone began to wait around the spiritual Qi spring quietly for more Taiji spiritual Qi to emerge. The Taiji spiritual Qi would appear every once in a while. Half of it would go to Jing Mumu, while the other half would be split among the disciples of the Black Demon Palace.

Now, many disciples of the Black Demon Palace had already obtained a strand of Taiji spiritual Qi. They immediately refined it on the spot.

More and more cultivators gathered around this spiritual Qi spring. They stared at the spring from afar and made no attempts to hide their desires.

There were even groups from other peak organisations that were prepared to steal it from them, but after comparing the strength of their forces to the Black Demon Palace’s, they were forced to give up in the end.

“Fantastic, this is fantastic. The group led by junior brother He has claimed a spiritual Qi spring as well. Our Black Demon Palace now has two spiritual Qi springs in the Taiji mountain range.” Suddenly, Ye Kai took out the communication jade slip and called out excitedly.

“What? Senior brother He Tian has claimed a spiritual Qi spring as well? Hahaha, looks like our Black Demon Palace has been quite fortunate in this struggle over Taiji spiritual Qi…”

The positive news immediately reinvigorated the disciples of the Black Demon Palace.

Afterwards, spiritual Qi springs appeared one after another in the Taiji mountain range, reaching ten in total very soon. After intense battles, these springs were all claimed by peak organisations on the Taiji Heaven.

However, the situation where peak organisations occupied the springs changed very quickly. The Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from smaller organisations began banding together, assembling a great group of people and attacking these peak organisations by using their advantage in numbers.

In the end, after a bitter battle, some of the peak organisations were defeated, losing the spiritual Qi springs.

Even Ye Kai’s group of three hundred Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals faced a difficult battle. The smaller organisations assembled over seven hundred Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals to launch an assault against them. If it were not for Jing Mumu who slaughtered many experts with her extraordinary methods, Ye Kai’s group would have struggled to maintain the spring.

From this battle, their numbers also dropped from around three hundred to around two hundred and fifty.

By now, there was already chaos everywhere in the Taiji mountain range. There were intense battles everywhere, as these were battles for opportunity among the juniors. It did not involve the outside world. As a result, as long as the benefits were big enough, some of the smaller organisations were bold enough to band together and go after the bigger organisations.

At this moment, the communication jade slip in Ye Kai’s hand began to flash rapidly. An emergency was happening.

He Tian was asking for reinforcements. The other spiritual Qi spring he occupied was currently under attack from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon. They were being forced into a retreat.

Ye Kai’s face sank. He wanted to bring a group of people with him to assist. However, he could sense the vague presences lurking around in the surroundings, so he was forced to hold back.

In the current Taiji mountain range, the Taiji spiritual Qi that appeared in places aside from the springs were only diminishing in quantity. As a result, many of the smaller organisations turned their attention towards the springs. If their defences were not powerful enough, they would struggle to maintain them.

After considering the cost and benefit, Ye Kai was forced to give up on reinforcing He Tian.

Just like that, the second spiritual Qi spring claimed by the disciples of the Black Demon Palace ended up in the hands of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.

Time trickled by silently. In the blink of an eye, it had already been three months since Jing Mumu and Ye Kai’s group had claimed the spiritual Qi spring. During these three months, the spring had already produced over four hundred strands of Taiji spiritual Qi. All the strands that Jing Mumu had received were absorbed by her.

Her cultivation in the Taiji mountain range was still a little weak. She was unable to truly overwhelm everyone just yet. As a result, she needed a tremendous amount of Taiji spiritual Qi to reach Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal as quickly as possible.

The effects of Taiji spiritual Qi were obviously better the more one absorbed. However, very few people could claim so much Taiji spiritual Qi for themselves.

After absorbing all these strands of Taiji spiritual Qi, Jing Mumu finally overcame that bottleneck and was in the process of formally stepping into the realm of Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

At that moment, Jing Mumu erupted with light. Extremely sharp sword intent radiated from her body, enveloping the nearby wilderness.

She had already entered her breakthrough. Her presence was rapidly rising, becoming more and more terrifying.

She clearly had not reached Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal properly, but her presence was so powerful that many of the surrounding Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals were alarmed.

“Hmm? Look, that deviant of a Xuan Immortal has begun her breakthrough…”

“That can’t be. She’s actually a Xuan Immortal? Isn’t she a peak Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal in disguise?”

“Even as a Xuan Immortal, she was already so terrifying. If she reaches Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal, just who in the Taiji mountain range would still be her opponent?”

......

…

The vague presences lurking in the surroundings pulsed as many cultivators communicated amongst themselves.

On the Black Demon Palace’s side, Ye Kai looked at Jing Mumu both sternly and with mixed feelings. In the past, he had always held onto a slight hope that Jing Mumu had used an extremely impressive method to disguise herself as a Xuan Immortal. Maybe she was actually a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

But now, with Jing Mumu’s breakthrough, Ye Kai was finally forced to accept this terrifying truth. Jing Mumu really was just a Xuan Immortal.

Jing Yao stared at Jing Mumu from three hundred metres away. She was in a daze. Her master was a great elder of the Black Demon Palace, Xue Shuangyue. Even her master’s husband, the Black Heaven Master, would guide her from time to time. As a result, both her cultivation environment and cultivation resources could be considered as exceptional.

Yet in the end, there remained such a great difference between her and Jing Mumu even with such a great advantage.

That left her deeply shocked.

“Senior brother Ye, why do I feel like more and more cultivators are gathering in the surroundings? The situation probably isn’t very good.” Lang Shan arrived before Ye Kai and glanced at the surroundings sternly.

Ye Kai nodded and said sternly, “I sense it too. It’s probably because the Taiji spiritual Qi is appearing less and less frequently elsewhere. As a result, having obtained none, the cultivators from the smaller organisations have begun casting their attention towards the springs.”

After saying that, Ye Kai looked around and glanced past the disciples of the Black Demon Palace. He also became slightly worried.

With only this bit of manpower, they would struggle to maintain this spiritual Qi spring.

Earlier, due to Jing Mumu’s influence, some of these people had second thoughts, but now, Jing Mumu was in the middle of a breakthrough. She could not interfere for the time being. Without Jing Mumu’s deterrence, could they still maintain the spring with their manpower?

When he thought of that, Ye Kai became even sterner. He called out, “Everyone, be on high vigilance. Watch over fellow Jing. We have to ensure that no disturbances occur during fellow Jing’s breakthrough.”
