Chapter 3488: The Immortal Sect of Sword Control

There were many more people with the same thought as Tong’er. They basically all came from the countries or towns around the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Due to their lowly birth and personal limitations in terms of talent, they could not join stronger sects. The Sword Sect of Violet Heavens had instead become their best choice.

The Sword Sect of Violet Heavens might have declined, but it was still a holy land in the eyes of countless Earthen Immortals and Human Immortals within several thousand kilometres.

At this moment, several streaks of light flew out from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens before turning into five figures above the entrance.

The five of them were all Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals. They wore the uniforms of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.

“Greetings, immortals!”

As soon as these Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals arrived, the countless Human Immortals, Earthen Immortals, and Heavenly Immortals all bowed politely. Their eyes were filled with respect and envy.

To all the Human Immortals, Earthen Immortals, and Heavenly Immortals, Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals were already a realm that they could only ever dream of, one that they could never reach.

“Please get up. There’s no need to be so polite!” An old man among the five Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples raised his hand. An invisible power immediately spread out, lifting up the bowing immortals beneath them. He slowly scanned across the several thousand weaker immortals and said, “There are three rules to joining our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

“The first is you must possess a talent of at least three stars!”

“The second is you must pass the test set down by us!”

“The third is you must pass the test of the Formation of Questioning Conscience!”

“Everyone who passes these three tests will formally become a disciple of our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens!”

As he said that, the old man waved his hand, and a jade plaque descended from above, landing on the ground with a heavy thunk.

“This is the Spiritual Testing Plaque. Those who wish to become a disciple of our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, please stand in front of it and channel in your spiritual Qi as hard as you can so that we can determine your talent level.”

The Spiritual Testing Plaque was an extremely common immortal artifact in the Immortals’ World. Basically every sect had one for testing the talents of low level immortals.

However, the quality of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens’ Spiritual Testing Plaque obviously was not particularly high. Basically the greatest talent it could test had an upper limit of whether they could become a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

Of course, the result from the Spiritual Testing Plaque was only for reference. After all, there were far too many uncertain factors in the path of cultivation. Talent was only one aspect. Their encounters and fortunes could also determine their future accomplishments.

Very soon, the low level immortals that had come to join the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens arrived before the Spiritual Testing Plaque and began the first round of tests.

At this moment, two Golden Immortal disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens stood before the Spiritual Testing Plaque, recording every person who participated in the test. They constantly called out during this process.

“Fail. Your talent hasn’t even reached one star, which is the lowest. Even becoming a Heavenly Immortal is difficult with talent like that.”

“Two stars of talent. Fail.”

“One star of talent. Fail.”

Figures shuffled in front of the Spiritual Testing Plaque constantly. However, most of them did not pass. They did not even possess three stars of talent.

Very soon, over half a day had already passed since the test began. During this time, several hundred people in total had been tested. Over several dozen met the requirement of three stars of talent.

At this moment, the Spiritual Testing Plaque glowed brightly. An earthen immortal stood in front of the plaque and was enveloped by blinding light.

“Nine stars of talent!” The two disciples from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens standing beside the plaque both became excited. Nine stars of talent was already the highest level of talent that the Spiritual Testing Plaque could detect. They had hopes of reaching Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal in the future.

“Nine stars of talent. Not bad, not bad. We sure have encountered an impressive little guy this time. If he’s carefully nurtured, he’ll become a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal at the very least in the future.” The five Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals in the air from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens smiled earnestly.

“Our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens has the legacies of Immortal Monarchs and the personal letters of Immortal Emperors. If we nurture him with everything that we have, he might even become an Immortal Monarch in the future,” a middle-aged woman beside the old man said.

“If we can gain another Immortal Monarch, then our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens will have it much easier in the future. An Immortal Monarch is equivalent to ten Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals at the very least.”

The appearance of a disciple with nine stars of talent left the five Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens in a good mood. They felt like there was much to look forward to.

“Our Immortal Sect of Sword Control will be taking this disciple.” At this moment, a cold voice rang out from the sky. A man in green with a sword on his back descended slowly, radiating with the presence of a peak Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

The five Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens flew into a rage. The old man at the centre pointed at the man in green with a darkened face and yelled out, “Qiu Jian, your Immortal Sect of Sword Control is absolutely shameless. Three hundred years ago when our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens recruited disciples, your Immortal Sect of Sword Control had already stolen two disciples with nine stars of talent. Now that our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens has finally encountered another disciple with nine stars of talent, you want to take him as well.”

“Qiu Jian, let me tell you, this disciple with nine stars of talent belongs to our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Don’t even think about taking him.”

“That’s too far. Your Immortal Sect of Sword Control has truly gone too far. Over the years, you’ve stolen so many disciples with nine stars of talent from our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Are you through with it yet?”

The Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens all roared out furiously.

The man in green from the Immortal Sect of Sword Control sneered and said, “You’ve only just held the test for talent. There are still two other tests you haven’t held yet, so this junior with nine stars of talent isn’t a disciple of your Sword Sect of Violet Heavens yet.”

“Who said that? All disciples with nine stars of talent can bypass the two remaining tests. He’s already a disciple of our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens now,” one of the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens said furiously.

The man in green was unconcerned. Instead, he looked down at the child standing before the Spiritual Testing Plaque and smiled. “Child, our Immortal Sect of Sword Control is far more powerful than the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. With your talent, if you go to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, you’ll probably never become a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal, but if you come to our Immortal Sect of Sword Control, you’ll even have a chance at becoming an Immortal Monarch, let alone a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal. As a result, you should join our Immortal Sect of Sword Control.”

Before the child could even respond, the man in green waved his hand and a stream of energy directly swept the disciple with nine stars of talent into the air, taking him away.

“How dare you, Qiu Jian!” The Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens rushed into the air and intercepted Qiu Jian, blocking his path.

Qiu Jian was unafraid. Instead, he sneered slightly. “This disciple is already a part of our Immortal Sect of Sword Control. Are you trying to take him by force? Looks like you’ve completely forgotten about what happened three hundred years ago.”

“Three hundred years ago, your Sword Sect of Violet Heavens also tried to steal our disciples of the Immortal Sect of Sword Control. In the end, three Immortal Monarch great elders of our sect set out personally. In the end, it was your sect master who lowered his head and blamed the disciples of your sect for offending the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals of our Immortal Sect of Sword Control, bowing and admitting their mistake.”

“Don’t tell me you want to personally experience what happened back then too?”

As soon as they heard that, the faces of the five Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens darkened. They only glared at Qiu Jian furiously, but they no longer dared to say anything else.

A while later, the old man at the centre sighed gently. All of his presence immediately vanished. He swallowed the humiliation and waved his hand at the other four powerlessly. “So be it, so be it. Let’s head down and continue with the recruitment of disciples.”

The Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens forcefully held back their fury and left with the old man with sunken faces.

Qiu Jian was taken aback. Shortly afterwards, he shook his head in a rather disappointed manner. “You’re going to give in so quickly? How boring. If I had known earlier, I shouldn’t have mentioned what happened three centuries ago and waited for you to attack me. As long as you touch me, our Immortal Sect of Sword Control would have a reason for visiting your Sword Sect of Violet Heavens and making you kneel in public to apologise.”
