The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Carson Flores looked at Cillian Bernard with surprise.

He wanted him to rescue Lorvian Randall?

Cillian Bernard naturally understood what was on Carson’s mind and explained in detail: ”Though Randall is the Saint Heir, he relies on his own talent and strength to stand out among many; he doesn’t have a prominent family background and connections.”

”His status comes from the Sect Hierarch, who can naturally take it away with just one word. Moreover, this matter was initially the Vice Sect Hierarch’s act of shirking responsibility, setting him up, and he was exiled to Suffering Pray Sea, so how could they spare those loyal to him?”

”As Randall entered Suffering Pray Sea, his followers suffered, being banished or reassigned for various reasons. Now, Randall has no one he can use.”

Carson Flores stared at Cillian Bernard, asking the doubt in his heart: ”I’ve talked to Randall; he never mentioned having a fiancée...”

Cillian Bernard’s face flushed slightly: ”I’ve grown up with him, always liked him, but he never wanted to settle down, and I’ve always been afraid to speak.”

”After this sect battle, he faced trouble; I confessed to him, telling him I’d stick with him no matter what.”

”He didn’t want to implicate me and didn’t agree, saying being with me would only bring trouble to me. Not long after, he was punished into the Suffering Pray Sea. I’ve tried various ways, but still couldn’t change this fact. At most, I kept his loyal subordinates from being killed...”

Carson Flores heard something odd: ”Your family background isn’t poor?”

Even as the Saint Heir, Lorvian Randall was stripped of power, and the woman before him, Cillian Bernard, didn’t seem very powerful; claiming to be Randall’s fiancée without issue, and managing to save his subordinates, this clearly surpassed her personal capability.

Cillian Bernard nodded: ”Yes, my great-grandfather is an Elder of the Sea God Sect. His power isn’t strong, but his seniority is deep. I sought him out, but he couldn’t change the Sect Hierarch’s punishment; he stepped in to protect Randall’s subordinates, preventing them from being killed.”

Carson Flores realized: Indeed quite an extraordinary family background, someone influential above.

Carson thought for a few seconds: ”So, you saying you’re his fiancée, was that your own decision?”

Cillian Bernard blushingly replied: ”This life, I only like him, will only marry him. I know he has me in his heart too, but on one hand, he’s focused on cultivation, not wanting to be restrained by emotions; secondly, he’s worried his nature will eventually cause issues, implicating me...”

Cillian Bernard paused, seemingly concerned about Carson Flores’ understanding, and further explained: ”The internal struggles of the Sea God Sect are very fierce and cruel. Though he’s the Saint Heir, he lacks a foundation and isn’t at an advantage in conflicts.”

”To be a Saint Heir, there are many capable and influential geniuses in the Sea God Sect. In some sense, Randall’s sudden rise blocked some people’s paths.”

”This incident visibly failing wasn’t Randall’s fault, but those wanting to bring Randall down weren’t just the Vice Sect Leader Crispin Valentine trying to shift blame; many sided with him to cause trouble, which led to Randall eventually being punished.”

Carson Flores nodded: ”His Saint Heir position was stripped?”

”Not at all.”

Cillian Bernard answered: ”The Sect Hierarch told him to go to Suffering Pray Sea for reflection, with no more words than that.”

”The Sect Hierarch’s word is always absolute, so when I asked my great-grandfather for help, he refused, saying since the Sect Hierarch’s order is given, it surely can’t be changed, as changing would undermine the Sect Hierarch’s authority.”

Carson Flores roughly understood the inside information, frowning: ”This matter is quite troublesome. Not to mention whether rescuing is possible, would he want me to rescue him? I am after all your Sea God Sect’s rival; if I rescued him, wouldn’t it solidify the collaboration between him and me?”

”Furthermore, from what you say, although Suffering Pray Sea is punishment, with his strength and being a Saint Heir, he likely suffers but doesn’t die, a hundred years isn’t short, but for a cultivator, it’s not too long. How can you be sure he wants people to rescue him?”

”Rescuing him would be defying your Sect Hierarch’s command, wouldn’t that be akin to betraying the Sea God Sect?”

Carson Flores and Lorvian Randall were on good terms, but Carson had repaid his debt of gratitude; now there’s nothing owed between them.

If Carson involved himself too deeply with Sea God Sect affairs, it could lead to big trouble.

Carson wasn’t afraid of trouble, but since he owed the opposite party nothing, he couldn’t put himself into danger for no reason.

When Cillian Bernard opened her mouth to ask Carson Flores for help, she clearly had considered everything, and without hesitation, she answered: ”Suffering Pray Sea is a place of exile, apart from a few key guarded spots, there’s no supervision inside; even if someone leaves, no one will know.”

”As long as you secretly take him out, Randall wouldn’t suffer the Spiritual Tide, find a quiet place for dedicated cultivation for a century, and near the hundred-year term, find an excuse to put him back in; he could then come out openly...”
