Chapter 1851: Chapter 1851: Descending into the Abyss, Dancing with Death

”This is my true form, Dragon Sky by nature is violent, aggressive, and bloodthirsty, it’s a part of his very essence. I once tried to sever these desires, but that only fulfilled him.”

”He takes shame in his human form and pride in his dragon form, so he has always existed in his dragon shape. Though he can assume a human shape, he simply chooses not to.”

”Our original bodies were long destroyed, and now we exist solely as Dragon Souls. Why do you ask?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”It’s a matter of life and death, it helps to know more.”

The Ancestor Dragon nodded, raised a hand, and cast a spell upon Carson Flores, ”This spell will help mask your human aura. After this, I shall not meet you alone again. Act accordingly once you enter the underground abyss.”

”Alright!”

Carson Flores returned to the main hall, sitting cross-legged, reflecting on the conversation just passed.

Norah Matthews approached quietly, ”Are you alright?”

Carson Flores turned his head, smiled, ”I’m alright.”

Norah Matthews sighed in relief, ”What did the Ancestor discuss with you?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Just some matters about the Heavenly Alliance. He supports the Dragon Clan maintaining neutrality. Before we leave, he will declare his stance to the disciples of various clans.”

Norah Matthews let out a sound of understanding, her face breaking into a smile, ”That’s great news.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Indeed, it’s beneficial for both the Celestial Palace and the Dragon Clan.”

Norah Matthews glanced around, lowered her voice and asked, ”Did the Ancestor mention what we’re supposed to do next?”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”Seems like we’re going to some place, just told me to follow along with the rest of you, nothing else was revealed.”

Norah Matthews was slightly disappointed, ”Alright, thanks.”

She returned to her place, shook her head at Hugh Matthews who was watching her, and a look of disappointment crossed his face.

At a previous Immortal Wine banquet, Oliver Stone and Carson Flores stole the spotlight. Carson had no rivalry with him, after all, he was not from the Dragon Clan, just a guest from the Celestial Palace. However, Oliver Stone’s remarkable performance left many who wanted to show off before the Ancestor Dragon greatly disheartened, readying themselves for the next round of competition.

Hugh Matthews never intended to surpass Oliver Stone, as Oliver, being the Black Dragon Prince, had little to do with the Azure Dragon Clan. His goal was to defeat Leighton Matthews in the competition.

If Hugh Matthews could earn the praise and admiration of the Ancestor Dragon, and Leighton Matthews did not, then naturally, more people would support Hugh Matthews in defeating Leighton Matthews to become the Azure Dragon Clan’s Young Clan Leader.

He hoped to glean some information from Carson Flores in advance, but to no avail.

Carson Flores indeed had nothing to share with him, for that journey to the underground abyss was one no one could escape.

To warn someone to be cautious?

What use could that be!

In the face of the Ancestor of the Dragon Clan, life and death hinged on the whims of the Dark Ancestral Dragon?

Soon after, a maiden came and once again escorted Oliver Stone away, leaving the other Dragon Clan elites in the main hall in envy.

”To be received privately by the Ancestor, who could compare to such glory?”

”So envious!”

”Do you think the Ancestor might choose him to reunite the Dragon Clan?”

”Who can say for sure, wasn’t it said that the Ancestor was dissatisfied with the current disconnect among the Dragon Clan’s branches and intended to reunite the clans? But without a suitable candidate, things have been delayed.”

”That’s true, although each clan leader holds varying strengths, none can completely subdue the others. Yet Oliver Stone, being naturally a Dragon Spirit Holder, is so young, he will surely surpass the major clan leaders in the future, becoming the absolute top Dragon Clan member. Besides, his high talent, great strength, his deftness, at such a young age, has already garnered much support from the Black Dragon Clan’s leaders. Such a person, to speak of unifying the Dragon Clan, doesn’t seem impossible to me.”

”But that requires time, doesn’t it? After all, he’s so young, and at present, his strength is far from being the Dragon Clan’s foremost authority.”

Carson Flores, hearing their discussions, felt a nuanced sense within.

The Black Dragon Prince you all admire is about to face a great calamity; whether he can make it through is another matter entirely.

If the Dark Ancestral Dragon’s scheme succeeds, then the survivor will not be him, but the Dark Ancestral Dragon.

Hmm, with the Dark Ancestral Dragon’s identity and strength plus the body of a Dragon Spirit Holder, unifying the Dragon Clan should be simpler, right?

Before long, Oliver Stone returned, and once again sat cross-legged in his place, his brow concealing barely restrained excitement.

Time flowed by, and soon the appointed time to depart arrived.

The Ancestor Dragon appeared again atop the main hall, announcing the impending destination to all present.

The underground abyss.

The Ancestor Dragon did not provide elaborate details, merely mentioning that someone would guide them there.

Everyone prepared to set off, following the guide, speculating on the purpose of heading to the abyss.

Was it a trial left by the Ancestor Dragon for everyone?

What awaited them all?

Carson Flores was the only one who knew the truth, kept silent, and followed everyone quietly, blending in, not drawing any attention to himself.

Soon, they reached the abyss.

The guide led everyone deeper into the abyss, arriving finally where a barrier was present.

As the guide placed a token into the formation, the barrier formed ripples like water waves.

”Everyone, below here lies the depths of the abyss, which is the purpose of this journey, please enter.”
