The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1138: Chapter 1138: Maybe You’ll Stumble Upon It As You Go?

The entire island was shrouded in a gray, foggy mist, visibility was extremely low, probably only about four to five meters, and within the fog, perception was completely obscured, making it impossible to discern direction.

”Fairy, can you make out the direction?”

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal replied, ”I can distinguish north, south, east, and west, nothing more.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”That’ll do. We came in from the southwest, so heading northeast should be the center of the island, we just need to walk in that direction, and wherever we end up is where we’ll be. If not, we’ll just run away.”

”You call the shots.”

Carson Flores laughed again, ”How can I call the shots? I’m counting on your protection.”

Cristopher Hopkins smiled faintly, ”Because you have good luck. Naturally, we’ll follow your lead. Who knows, you might just stumble upon a treasure while wandering around.”

Carson Flores was speechless. Several Immortal Slaves had been guarding this place for over ten thousand years and hadn’t found that treasure, and one of them even lost their life. If he simply walked around and encountered it, how strong would his luck have to be?

Lucky enough to win five million on a lottery ticket by chance?

”Let’s go then!”

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal pointed the way, and Carson Flores headed toward the center of the island.

Carson Flores’s greatest advantage was in concealing his life force. Although he moved slowly, it was like a moving stone— who would care?

The vegetation on the island was not dense, which made walking somewhat easier for Carson Flores.

He hadn’t gone far when he heard heavy, thudding footsteps approaching from ahead.

Carson Flores swiftly leapt onto a nearby tree with dense branches and leaves, pulling out the Cicada’s Mantle and draping it over himself.

”Thump!”

”Thump!”

The dull sounds grew closer and the ground began to tremble violently, startling Carson Flores. Just how gigantic must a beast be to have such heavy footsteps?

Through the dense fog, a massive silhouette over a hundred meters tall slowly emerged, its grand form exerting an immense pressure in the misty air.

Carson Flores felt his heart contract, holding completely still under the Cicada’s Mantle, watching the approaching figure in the distance.

It was a White Giant Ape, its arms hanging low, taking steps one by one as if patrolling its territory.

The White Giant Ape passed in front of Carson Flores, its body even brushing against the branches of the tree he was hiding in.

Carson Flores couldn’t see the full shape of the White Giant Ape clearly; it was as if a fifty-story building was moving, every step causing the ground to tremble and bringing immense pressure.

Carson Flores just quietly watched it pass, gradually disappearing into the distance.

Without realizing it, Carson Flores’s forehead was covered in sweat.

That ape was enormous!

A single punch from it could probably bring down a hill.

Once the surroundings were quiet again, Carson Flores removed the Cicada’s Mantle and continued on his way to the island’s center.

There were not a few giant beasts on the island, which puzzled Carson Flores. Did these giant beasts not fight and snatch territory from each other?

With such large bodies, what did they eat? Was there enough food here for them?

As he walked on, Carson Flores saw the advantages of being smaller. His movements were very subtle, whereas the giant beasts, no matter how they moved—flew, ran, or crawled, or even breathed—caused great disturbances, allowing Carson Flores to hide in advance.

On the way, Carson Flores evaded five giant beasts, including a terrifying bird that flew overhead and obscured the sun, a Mosasaurus Crocodile that lay on the ground without moving, and a slowly swimming Golden Crown Titan Python—it was quite an eye-opening experience.

These ancient beasts were even larger than the Great Demon, and they all emitted a wild, bloodthirsty, and terrifying aura, like a brand from ancient times, that made one’s heart tremble.

Besides these giant beasts, there were other smaller wild animals and venomous snakes that launched several attacks at Carson Flores. However, with his steel-hard physique and the Three Provinces Sword in hand, he easily claimed their lives.

Carson Flores walked for an entire day.

Before it got dark, Carson Flores found a cliff-side and dug out a hole large enough to hide in, using a large rock to block the entrance. He sat cross-legged, draped with the Cicada’s Mantle, and closed his eyes to rest.

In the middle of the night, Carson Flores suddenly noticed a flicker of light in front of his eyes. Opening them, he saw light seeping through the cracks of the rock that blocked the entrance.

Carson Flores quickly pushed aside the rock and peered outside, and his whole person suddenly froze in place.

Not far away, a seven-colored aurora soared into the sky, dispersing the surrounding fog and revealing the landscape within a radius of several kilometers as if illuminated by daylight.

Carson Flores happened to be within the edge of the aurora’s reach, and looking back, all was darkness shrouded by gray fog, but looking forward, the fog was gone, leaving the open and clean landscape.

It was like a lamp lighting up a vast area in the night, while beyond that, the endless darkness still reigned.

At a distance, Carson Flores couldn’t see what was emitting the aurora, only spotting it rising from a depression in the terrain ahead.

Carson Flores stared at the aurora, dumbfounded.

Had he stumbled upon this after just a day?
