Dragon God Supreme

Saint Soul Sect Main Hall.

Water Traceless appeared in a flash, looking rather grave, clearly troubled by Kui Ying’s words.

”Great Protector, how did it go? Do you know Kui Ying’s purpose?” the Sect Master of Saint Soul Sect asked.

”Simply to annihilate the Yejia power under the Nine Nether Temple and help the people of the Rakshasa Temple,” Water Traceless replied respectfully, although he didn’t disclose everything Kui Ying had said.

After all, in others’ eyes, Kui Ying was merely bluffing.

”Then why did you not act? Is Kui Ying stronger than you?” the First Elder asked with a frown, with a hint of reproach in his words.

The First Elder didn’t think Water Traceless was weaker than Kui Ying.

Water Traceless and Kui Ying had been evenly matched for years without a clear winner.

Water Traceless respectfully said, ”To report to the First Elder, it wasn’t that I didn’t want to act, nor that I couldn’t defeat Kui Ying, but that Ancient Profound Venerable ordered me to let Kui Ying leave.”

”Ancient Profound Venerable?” The expressions of the Saint Soul Sect Master and others changed drastically.

The Sect Master of Saint Soul Sect furrowed his brow in confusion and said, ”Such a good opportunity, why did Ancient Profound Venerable let Kui Ying go? Aren’t we about to go to war with the Dragon God Holy Temple? Did something happen? Are we worried about the Demon Clan?”

”With our strength, killing Kui Ying wouldn’t be difficult. If we took action and killed Kui Ying, Long Shi Hun and the others would surely be enraged, presenting a great opportunity for war. But I don’t know why Ancient Profound Venerable ordered Kui Ying to leave. Ancient Profound Venerable must have his reasons,” Water Traceless shook his head and said, not understanding himself.

”I also saw the woman with the Dragon Soul Order. Her aura and power were somewhat unique; I had never seen her before, and she wasn’t human. Her origin is still unknown,” Water Traceless added.

”Our sect has already sent Protector Qinghong to investigate. We should find out soon,” the Saint Soul Sect Master said.

”I take my leave, to visit the Martial Soul Holy Palace,” Water Traceless said respectfully.

...

Wang Yun Tower, Saint Qing City.

All rescued members of the Su family were accommodated at the inn.

To express gratitude for Ling Xiaoxiao and others’ life-saving help, Su Yungu held a banquet in their honor.

”Lord Kui Ying, Brother Qingyang, Miss Xiaoxiao, thank you so much for saving our Su family. I propose a toast to you first,” Su Yungu gratefully said, draining his cup.

The spring had come to the Su family, and Su Yungu was overjoyed to the point of tears, his old eyes moistened.

Liu Qingyang, Bei Dou Yan, and Kui Ying all raised their cups.

Liu Qingyang happily said, ”You don’t have to thank me, Senior Su. You saved my life before; I’m just returning the favor. Besides, this is all thanks to Kui Ying; I didn’t help much.”

”I didn’t help much either, no need to thank me. Without Kui Ying’s help, we wouldn’t have been able to contend with Yejia with our cultivation levels,” Ling Xiaoxiao said with a light laugh.

Kui Ying merely smiled faintly, not saying much.

”Thank you all. You are the great benefactors of our Su family. We will remember this forever. I toast you all again,” Su Qian said happily, secretly relieved that they had saved Liu Qingyang in the past; otherwise, the Su family might never have risen again.

”Shopkeeper Su is too courteous,” Liu Qingyang said with a smile.

The banquet was lively, with various toasts and words of thanks.

The banquet lasted for over an hour before ending, with Ling Xiaoxiao and Liu Qingyang returning to the Rakshasa Temple.

”Protector Kui Ying, Water Traceless is known as the strongest protector in the Profound Holy Realm, with a five-star Saint Venerate cultivation. If I’m not wrong, his strength should reach six-star Saint Venerate level or even stronger. Why didn’t he dare to act earlier?” Bei Dou Yan curiously asked on the way back, unable to figure it out.

”They didn’t dare to touch us; they feared starting a war,” Liu Qingyang said with a cold smile.

Kui Ying thought for a moment, then said, ”Water Traceless is indeed very powerful. Frankly, I don’t know why he didn’t act. However, they are not afraid of war; in fact, they want to start a war and even force the Ancestor to act. Their attack on the Supreme Lord showed that.”

”You knew about the earlier events?” Ling Xiaoxiao asked in surprise.

Kui Ying nodded, respectfully saying, ”Supreme Madam, my task is to secretly monitor the Martial Soul Holy Palace and all the major powers under it, and I have always been in the Profound Holy Realm.”

”If my guess is correct, the fact that they haven’t acted further might be related to the Demon Clan,” Kui Ying speculated.

”The Demon Clan?” Ling Xiaoxiao and the others looked at Kui Ying in confusion.

Kui Ying solemnly said, ”Because the Demon Clan dared not act. The Third Ancestor recently invaded the Demon Domain, severely injuring many powerful Saint Venerates and Saint Emperors of the Demon Clan, even defeating the old Clan Leader Zhu Tianmo. This made the Demon Clan very fearful; they dared not act. Without the help of the Demon Clan, Ancient Profound Venerable naturally also dared not act rashly.”

Kui Ying’s guess was indeed correct. Ancient Profound Venerable dared not recklessly start a war against the Dragon God Holy Temple, but in dealing with Feng Wuchen, they were utterly fearless.

”In Ancient Profound Venerable’s view, a war between the Dragon God Holy Temple and the Martial Soul Holy Palace would result in mutual destruction, at which point the Demon Clan would take advantage. Who could stop them then?”

”So that’s how it is,” Ling Xiaoxiao nodded in understanding.

”The Third Ancestor is so formidable? It seems the Third Ancestor has been cultivating Brother Feng’s technique, and his cultivation has greatly increased, crushing even the technique, to defeat Zhu Tianmo,” Liu Qingyang said with excitement.

”Protector Kui Ying’s speculation is probably correct. The Demon Clan dares not meddle, preventing the Martial Soul Holy Palace from acting rashly,” Bei Dou Yan said with a satisfied smile.

”This is just my speculation; there may be other reasons. The Martial Soul Holy Palace’s strength should not be underestimated. Supreme Madam, I have other matters to attend to, so I will take my leave. Please summon me if you need anything,” Kui Ying said respectfully.

”Alright, thank you, Protector Kui Ying,” Ling Xiaoxiao thanked him.

...

Martial Soul Holy Palace.

The faces of Ancient Profound Venerable, Nangong Xuan, and other high-levels looked extremely ugly, indicating something had happened.

”Is the information true?” Ancient Profound Venerable asked gloomily.

”Absolutely true. The disappearance of the Blood Soul Pool implies something has happened to the Soulreaper Clan. No wonder there has been no news of the Great Elder from the Soulreaper Clan for so many days!” Nangong Xuan nodded solemnly, his old face extremely grim.

Ancient Profound Venerable frowned and wondered, ”The Soulreaper Clan is terrifyingly powerful, with a Clan Leader no weaker than myself. Who has such horrifying power to deal with them? And without alerting anyone in the Holy Realm?”

”Not many know of the Soulreaper Clan’s existence. Such fearsome strength, even our Martial Soul Holy Palace does not dare claim we can destroy it. The lack of news may not mean something happened,” the Second Elder speculated.

Nangong Xuan shook his head, saying, ”But now even the Clan Leader and other Elders of the Soulreaper Clan have disappeared. The battle traces at the Blood Soul Pool have explained everything; the Soulreaper Clan is likely annihilated.”

”Be it by whoever or whatever power can eliminate the Soulreaper Clan, they are beyond what we can contend with. But I hope they are not enemies,” Ancient Profound Venerable said solemnly, unable to guess who could possess such capability.
