Chapter 1903: Chapter 1902: Overwhelmed with Regret

”Divine Mansion Master, Three Great Elders, no need for such formalities.”

Seeing the Mansion Master and the Three Great Elders performing such a grand ceremony, Feng Wuchen quickly stopped them.

”Dishonor?”

Upon hearing the words of the Mansion Master and the others, the old faces of Mie Di, Mie Yuan, and other high-ranking elders instantly darkened.

Even the faces of Lin Lao, Nie Huang, and dozens of other alchemists turned very unsightly.

Having just witnessed the terrifying Divine Skills of Thought-Forming Instrumentation, they deeply understood the formidable status of the Honored Elder Delegate of the Alchemist Tower. Now they were shocked to learn that Feng Wuchen was dishonored in the Divine Mansion.

”Just a minor incident,” Feng Wuchen said with a faint smile.

Mie Yuan said grimly, ”Honored Elder Delegate, this is no minor incident.”

Sweeping his fierce old eyes over Huangfu Yan and the others, Mie Di sternly asked, ”What exactly happened? Speak clearly to me!”

Huangfu Yan then recounted the events once, and after listening, the faces of Mie Di and the others grew increasingly solemn, an ominous pressure surging forth.

”Honored Elder Delegate, with such an incident occurring, I truly don’t know what to say, I just hope the Honored Elder Delegate won’t blame us.” Huangfu Yan said self-reproachfully.

”What? They dared to say the Honored Elder Delegate is unqualified? Dared to insult the Honored Elder Delegate as trash?” Mie Jian said through gritted teeth, and a terrifying murderous aura burst forth.

”Huangfu Yan! With good intentions I recommended the Honored Elder Delegate, and yet you’re so negligent! Even letting the Honored Elder Delegate suffer such an insult! What are you all doing? It’s clear you don’t respect the Honored Elder Delegate!” Mie Yuan thundered angrily, shouting at Huangfu Yan.

The Mansion Master was full of distress and helplessness, not knowing what to say at all.

Feng Wuchen quickly said, ”Master of the Tower, this matter isn’t to blame on the Mansion Master and the others, it’s just a minor issue, no need to make a big deal of it.”

Hearing these words from Feng Wuchen, the Mansion Master and Huangfu Yan felt slightly relieved.

”Honored Elder Delegate, if you can’t even handle minor affairs, how can you handle major ones? Huangfu Yan obviously didn’t take this matter seriously!” Mie Di said grimly in anger, ”Hmph! I was wondering why you old folks suddenly came to the Alchemist Tower, how dare you! Insulting the Honored Elder Delegate is tantamount to insulting the Alchemist Tower!”

”I didn’t expect such a thing to happen either, Li Jin has already been killed by me, it’s my fault for not explaining things clearly, which led the Honored Elder Delegate to suffer such insults, all the blame lies with me, I hope the Honored Elder Delegate can forgive me.” Huangfu Yan said self-reproachfully.

Beside him, Lin Lao frowned and said, ”Elder Huangfu! The Honored Elder Delegate holds a status equal to the elders of the Alchemist Tower, since the Honored Elder Delegate agreed to take the position of Chief Mentor, you should have communicated this earlier, don’t you know what kind of person that Li Jin is?”

”I’ve never liked Li Jin, if it weren’t for his title as Chief Mentor, I would have killed him long ago!” An elder said through gritted teeth in anger.

The high-ranking officials of the Alchemist Tower and the older generation of alchemists kept accusing, and the Mansion Master and the Three Great Elders had nothing to say in response, as no amount of explanation could salvage the situation.

”Honored Elder Delegate, I deeply apologize for this incident, it has failed Elder Mie Yuan, allowing the Honored Elder Delegate to suffer such an insult, truly sorry to the Honored Elder Delegate.” Huangfu Yan said self-reproachfully.

”Hmph!” Mie Yuan grunted fiercely and coldly.

”Mansion Master, Three Elders, there’s no need to blame yourselves, I know this incident is not your fault, since Li Jin is already dead, let’s not waste time on this matter.” Feng Wuchen said faintly, but in truth, he was very displeased in his heart.

However, since Li Jin was already killed by Huangfu Yan, Feng Wuchen had no intention to pursue it further.

Of course, that was also because Feng Wuchen was being reasonable, if it were someone else, they would probably pursue it to the end, absolutely ensuring that Huangfu Yan and the others paid the price.

”Thank you, Honored Elder Delegate.” The Mansion Master and the Three Elders clasped their fists in thanks, and their hearts finally felt a bit relieved.

Feng Wuchen then said, ”Recently I have many things to deal with, I’m afraid I cannot take the position of Chief Mentor, I hope you elders do not misunderstand, I’m definitely not refusing because of this incident, but after careful consideration I’ve decided, there are many reasons, but they’re inconvenient to disclose for now.”

Upon hearing this, the Mansion Master and the three elders, including Huangfu Yan, felt immensely disappointed, but they didn’t dare to try and persuade further.

The matter of the Honored Elder Delegate being dishonored might be minor to Feng Wuchen, but for the Alchemist Tower, it was an extremely serious matter.

Since Feng Wuchen didn’t pursue it, they ought to be grateful.

”Serves them right!” Ao Yu cursed under his breath.

”Considering the Honored Elder Delegate didn’t pursue this, it’s already very commendable, otherwise if it were another young person taking that position, the consequences would be dire.” Another young disciple said softly, with others nodding in agreement.

Seeing the disappointed faces of the Mansion Master and Huangfu Yan, Feng Wuchen said, ”I know this makes you elders very disappointed, but I hope you can understand, even though I’m the Honored Elder Delegate, I might not have much time to come to the Alchemist Tower, my palace is under construction with the assistance of Tianhuai from the headquarters, it should be finished soon.”

”I see.” Huangfu Yan nodded, no longer pressing, his heart filled with regret.

”Teacher is building his own palace?” Nie Huang was quietly surprised.

”Honored Elder Delegate, haven’t you solved your issues yet?” Mie Yuan asked with a frown.

Feng Wuchen shook his head and said, ”It’s not that easy, an Elixir at most grants me an exception, but to weaken the Heavenly Tribulation’s power, I’ll have to find another way.”

”Heavenly Tribulation power?” Huangfu Yan, the Mansion Master, and others were all astonished.

”What Heavenly Tribulation power?” Lin Lao and others looked equally confused.

”Tower Master, I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave.” Feng Wuchen said looking at Mie Di and the others.

Mie Di responded calmly, ”No problem, Honored Elder Delegate, go about your business.”

”Mansion Master, Three Elders, farewell.” Feng Wuchen said looking at the Mansion Master and the others, clasping his fists before leaving the hall.

”Seeing off the Teacher!” Nie Huang said respectfully, clasping his fists.

”Teacher?” Huangfu Yan almost burst into tears upon hearing that, his heart aching.

Nie Huang looked at Huangfu Yan and said, ”Elder Huangfu, I have just taken the Honored Elder Delegate as my master.”

”...” The old face of the Mansion Master looked very dark, if this hadn’t happened, the Divine Mansion would certainly gain massive benefits because of Feng Wuchen.

The students of the Divine Mansion would surely have gained greatly from Feng Wuchen!

It’s just a pity, everything was too late.

After Feng Wuchen left, Mie Yuan then sternly said, ”Huangfu Yan, this time the Honored Elder Delegate didn’t pursue, I don’t wish to see this happen again.”

”Alas...” Huangfu Yan regretted so much that he almost wished to die, feeling extremely aggrieved and helpless inside.

The Mansion Master and the other two elders didn’t say anything either, in their eyes, Feng Wuchen definitely refused the Chief Mentor position because of this incident.

Even if it was the real reason, they had nothing to say, as it was indeed their negligence that caused it.

”Now that things have come to this, I have nothing left to say, Tower Master, let’s leave.” Huangfu Yan’s spirit was completely crushed, as if he’d aged several decades in an instant.
