Three Towers Game

Chapter 1220: Chapter 382: Qilin’s Strange Illness (Part 2)

”I haven’t checked your points yet because you completed the task so quickly.”

”I assume you’ve killed the target.”

Wen Xishu found it somewhat amusing.

Killing the target was Qilin’s intention, and it was Qilin who told him that killing the Obsessed would count as completing the task... but he changed his mind temporarily once he arrived at the scene.

But now, the words ”I assume” from Qilin gave Wen Xishu the feeling of a left brain fighting the right brain.

Because Qilin’s words surprisingly carried a hint of reproach.

Wen Xishu didn’t respond to Qilin and instead watched silently. Qilin tapped in the air, and numerous clocks started to speed up and run backward.

After a while, Qilin exclaimed:

”You didn’t kill the target... but resolved the obsession?”

Wen Xishu noticed that the other party seemed somewhat pleased.

He now confirmed that it wasn’t his memory being hazy... This Qilin indeed was ”black and white reversed.”

”Yes, the target did not die, and the disaster that formed his obsession did not occur,” Wen Xishu calmly stated.

Qilin clapped his hands:

”Such efficiency! Such efficiency! In such a short time, you even managed to save someone? Truly impressive! I thought you were just a cold-blooded killer, but you unexpectedly overachieved the task?”

Wen Xishu said:

”Aren’t you the one who told me to kill?”

He had the answer in his heart but asked the question anyway.

Qilin sighed again, and the smile on his face quickly faded. He seemed very in tune and familiar with this explanation:

”It’s me... but trust me, the current me supports you saving people.”

Wen Xishu asked:

”Is this an illness?”

Qilin knew that Wen Xishu was observant and obviously had already guessed a possibility.

He shook his head:

”It’s not an illness; it’s the side effect of my power. As I told you, my ability is a lower version of Capricorn.”

”Capricorn can go to any world directly and without negative effects.”

”But I can’t. Specifically... never mind, it’s insignificant. Thank you, your approach is correct. Those people shouldn’t have been killed.”

”All things have obsessions. I always believe that in the Apocalypse Era, obsessions are too easily formed. If killing could solve the problem, many people would surely die.”

Wen Xishu agreed with this viewpoint.

Yet Qilin added:

”Of course, saving isn’t necessarily right either, because many times you can’t save them.”

Wen Xishu now confirmed that Qilin has two sides, white and black.

The black and white ideologies aren’t the same.

But he didn’t lower his guard. If Black Qilin is evil... does it necessarily mean White Qilin is good?

Qilin said:

”This time you acquired a lot of points, no less than 25 points. You can enter the next stage with 30 points.”

Wen Xishu decided not to delve deeply into Qilin for the moment because he lacked the authority.

He still had to stand firm within the company before he could uncover the secret of this constellation.

Or rather, the secret hidden within the company.

He pretended to be interested and asked:

”These points you mentioned can be exchanged for things. Primarily, what can they be exchanged for?”

Qilin said:

”They are all beneficial for your journey to the Three-Tower Battlefield.”

”Obsession hiring, obsession item leasing, obsession sequence leasing, air wall expansion, setting spawn points...”

”Many functions require points.”

Obsession hiring refers to hiring a role from the Deceit Tower, an existence in the Obsession World, to travel to the real world together to complete tasks.

Obsession item leasing follows the same principle.

Expanding the air wall gives more room for action, impacting the world situation to a greater extent spatially.

Setting a spawn point is also an extraordinary ability, almost deciding which area to go to.

Wen Xishu is quite interested in these abilities.

Qilin said:

”Of course, points can also be used for position upgrades. Some position authorities within Three Towers Company may even help you as a Bunker Person, especially in your tower climbing efforts.”

”Oh... you also brought something back. If you choose to reject having this thing, it will return to its original owner. If the owner is dead, it will appear randomly on someone else.”

”But if you choose to accept this item, you’ll need to spend 15 points.”

The item Qilin mentioned was the Talisman given by Master Lingqing.

This Talisman is very powerful; once released, it can produce the effects of a cut-down version of ”Lian King’s Reincarnation” and ”Celestial Kingdom of the Goddess of Suffering” combo technique.

It is a consumable item and can be used only once, but the Talisman itself is an orange item.

Wen Xishu didn’t know how hard it would be to earn 15 points, but given his connections in the Deceit Tower...

Perhaps in the future, he could save more people, so he wouldn’t lack this score for sure.

But this Talisman, even Master Lingqing may not often produce; it must have been given as a very precious item.

Even now, orange items carry high value. Moreover, with the arrival of the three realms, this Talisman, even across Three Towers, whether it’s the Desire Tower or Deceit Tower, can produce effects.

So he thought for a moment and said:

”Then I choose to spend points to obtain this item.”

Qilin nodded:

”Okay, then what about your remaining points? Do you need me to tell you what the remaining ten points can afford?”

Wen Xishu said:

”Ten points can be exchanged for something?”

Qilin laughed:

”Working for Three Towers Company has clear benefits; you can use these ten points to exchange for one-time authority.”

”For example, specifying the type of task for your next climb.”

”You can also get a one-time strength potion to give you higher Anti-Magic Value for your next climb.”

”Or, you can exchange for assistance related to the Three-Tower Battlefield, like reducing your presence, getting closer to the task target, or receiving more task hints...”

”Of course, hiring and leasing require more points.”

Wen Xishu shook his head:

”Then I’ll just save them for now.”

Specifying task types for climbing towers is no big deal to Wen Xishu. Whether it’s a redemption task, survival horror, decoding exploration, or team competition, he is unafraid and takes a tower climbing approach without being picky.

Other rewards do not appeal to him greatly as one-offs.

So he decided to save these points for something bigger.

Qilin nodded:

”Alright, next I will shift time to end your three-day isolation, and you will return to your interview challenge.”

”Although you have already successfully interviewed and perfectly completed the first field task...”

”The process still needs to be completed.”

Wen Xishu asked:

”Tang Zhe, Li Weiwei, Clark... are these people from the real world?”

Qilin knew what Wen Xishu wanted to ask, so he nodded and said:

”Yes, they are from the real world. After the assessment, most people with hp greater than 0 can return to their original world.”

”And some outstanding performers will become your colleagues, although their positions are too low to currently interact with you.”

”There are actually many departments in Three Towers Company; even I am exploring its mystery.”

Wen Xishu said:

”What if the conditions aren’t met? And what if interviewees refuse to join the company?”

Qilin sighed:

”If the conditions aren’t met, I will find a way to keep them alive... but I hope at that time, I am still myself.”

”As for those unwilling to join, their memories will be erased and they will be sent back.”

Wen Xishu understood what this meant.

He suddenly asked:

”What about the life-erased A11?”

Qilin said:

”She successfully returned to her original world, with her memory erased.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Thank you for doing this.”

...

...

Wen Xishu returned to the Zone C team.

The Zone C team indeed hadn’t changed at all.

Second boss Tang Zhe hadn’t stirred any incidents; under his efforts, despite Wen Xishu’s three-day absence, the company not only hadn’t encountered any mutinies, but everyone was more harmonious and friendly.

As for neighboring Zone D, due to ironclad rule and alluring, no problems appeared.

Zone D had become much more compliant, probably realizing they couldn’t compete with Zone C, and thus simply gave up.

This surrender was a wise decision; neither area experienced further casualties.

Thus the game entered garbage time.

Soon, this game reached day 30. After all finally survived a month...

The electronic screen transmitted Gua Shisan’s voice:

”Congratulations, everyone has completed the basic condition; hp is greater than 0. Next, we will enter the one-on-one segment to inform everyone of their destinations.”

Li Weiwei looked at Wen Xishu. She didn’t know whether she had been accepted; Wen Xishu’s strategy saved many people.

This is a good thing, but she knew Three Towers Company certainly wouldn’t recruit so many.

Wen Xishu would definitely be accepted, and thinking of this, she hoped to do something.
