Three Towers Game

Two regular types are praying, the number 2 is the correct answer. Wen Xishu actually feels that, among the numbers one to three, the probability of the correct answer appearing is very, very high...

He observes closely.

There are two red butterflies, and this time there is only one blue butterfly, along with one white butterfly.

Before lighting up the statue, Wen Xishu has been keeping an eye on the butterflies.

Soon, two blue butterflies flew over, bringing the total count to three blue butterflies, and another purple butterfly also arrived.

Quietness sets in, the butterflies haven’t changed for a while, no more butterflies flew in, and those perched on the smile-faced statue didn’t fly away.

Rarely, the four-colored butterflies are all gathered—blue, purple, red, and white.

Among the two regular types, the smaller one still somewhat retains a human outline, except its flesh has already decayed.

Vines pierced into its flesh, causing it heart-wrenching pain.

Zheng Zai felt physically uncomfortable watching this.

He wouldn’t be overly sympathetic, but he indeed sensed… the naked truth of survival of the fittest in the apocalypse, the chance to defy fate is incredibly hard to come by.

The regular type knows that if it doesn’t light the statue, it will die immediately...

It grits its teeth, finally steeling itself, and lights the statue.

Laughter emerges.

Unconsciously relaxing laughter appears in people’s ears, this time, even though everyone retreated extremely far...

They still heard the laughter.

Wen Xishu and Zheng Zai also heard the laughter.

Undeniably, this laughter suddenly eased the tense atmosphere.

The smile-faced statue shed its stone-gray color, emitting a golden hue. The regular type that lit the statue started to laugh heartily.

”Hahahahahahaha!”

It laughed extraordinarily happily, but then the regular type beside it suddenly started devouring its flesh. It also started devouring the flesh of the regular type next to it.

It was still laughing, and the regular type beside it was as well, seeming frenzied in laughter, eyes filled with obvious murderous intent, yet appearing so joyous.

Just like this… the two regular types ended up perishing together.

This laughter suddenly no longer made people feel joyful, but rather terrified.

The statue numbered 2 caused two people to die.

Just when everyone thought that this time they had retreated far enough to escape the misfortune...

Laughter broke out amongst the crowd, people at the edges began laughing uproariously.

”Hahahahahahaha...”

The sound was piercing, and the owner of the smile also became sinister and horrifying.

This situation was not singular; there were four individuals.

In the peripheral region, four people began laughing madly, then attacking each other.

In the end, these four individuals also died.

The second round of lighting the statue ended; the tree accumulated sixty points.

In the first round, five died; in the second round, six died. In the first round, everyone saw—after the person lighting the statue died... obviously the death should have concluded, yet four more people died.

This time as well, four more people died.

The tree said:

”It seems... no matter how far we retreat, there’s always someone closest to the person lighting the statue, there will always be four to be sacrificed.”

This seems reasonable. In the first round, four extra died; in the second round, four extra died as well.

Many monsters nodded in agreement, all thinking the tree’s words were correct.

But Wen Xishu felt it was not like this.

Even Zheng Zai noticed something.

”No, Younger Brother Wen, you must have seen, it’s not like this, thinking like this is too simplistic and crude.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Yes, this is deliberately simplifying the problem to a direction they can understand, intentionally ignoring other elements.”

Wen Xishu could actually use brute force, employing his other Divine Card to trial and error, but now, he is close to unraveling the mystery.

Statue number 1, two blue three red. Five dead.

Statue number 2, three blue two red one purple one white, six dead.

Wen Xishu quickly starts sorting this information in his mind.

Meanwhile, the tree begins the third round, statue number 03, is a flower.

Because it is a flower, it attracts many butterflies. Just like gathering nectar.

Wen Xishu said:

”Old Zheng, I estimate that I’ve found the correct answer, this round, the tree’s choice is still wrong, and many will die. Based on previous experience—”

”Random deaths prefer selecting those closest... let’s retreat backwards a bit.”

Zheng Zai nodded, naturally now following how Younger Brother Wen directs.

The flower statue is about to be lit, attracting another large swarm of butterflies, the radiant flower especially attracts red butterflies, which shocked Wen Xishu inside,

He conservatively estimated about hundreds of red butterflies, although there are butterflies of other colors, Wen Xishu noticed... the numbers of blue and red butterflies are the most, naturally more than other butterflies. Purple and white butterflies are, in total, far fewer than blue and red.

The flower was lit, the stone sculpture was slowly shedding its gray color, although still not fully alive, the fragrance of the flower has attracted them, gathering four-colored butterflies.

The quantity of red and blue butterflies, Wen Xishu paid particular attention to, although butterflies constantly flew back and forth, hard to count clearly, Wen Xishu still tries his best, relying on his memory and dynamic vision...

To record the number of butterflies, he soon presented a figure in his mind.

A dreadful number of deaths.
