Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 535: Chapter 530: Half-Human, Half-Demon, Demon Heart

A figure appeared over a dozen yards away. It moved like a phantom; if it hadn’t made a sound, no one would have ever sensed its arrival.

This fact made the group extremely wary. ’With our strength, we actually failed to notice his arrival. Doesn’t that mean this person’s power far surpasses ours?’

And when they focused their eyes and got a clear look at the figure, their expressions changed drastically!

”What is that thing! Is it human or a ghost?”

Lady Black Scorpion’s skin crawled, and her heart began to pound.

They saw a humanoid figure, but what was bizarre was that a smaller portion of his body was human, while the larger part had undergone a shocking mutation. That side’s skin was pitch-black and covered in scales, its eyes were blood-red, and its teeth were sharp and savage. Its arm and leg were also abnormally large, like the limbs of a beast.

Most incredibly, a sword was plunged into the top of his head!

A faint, almost imperceptible aura radiated from his body. Yet, it was so powerful that even Liu Yama felt a primal fear.

”A King!”

Liu Yama said gravely, spitting out each word.

”Could it be a Demon King of the Demon Race?”

The hearts of Lady Black Scorpion and the others pounded wildly, and they felt as if they had been plunged into an abyss.

’If this person before us is a Demon King, aren’t we all dead for sure?’

At this moment, the only one who could remain calm was Ning Jiang. He shook his head and said, ”He isn’t a Demon King from the Demon Race. He’s a King of the Human Race who has been corrupted and subjected to Demonization. However, something is very wrong with him. It looks like the Demonization is only half-complete. I think he’s the one who put that sword in his own head to stop himself from being fully demonized.”

”Only half-demonized? Does he still have his sanity?” Gu Huaying asked.

”He should have some left, but even so, his mind is likely in chaos. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be confused about who he is,” Ning Jiang said.

”What do we do now?”

At this point, no one dared to make a rash move, terrified of accidentally provoking this half-human, half-demon King and bringing disaster upon themselves.

”Who am I?”

The half-human, half-demon King spoke again. His eyes were lost and confused, and his voice was bizarre—it was two voices speaking at once, one normal, the other incomparably evil.

”You are of the Human Race!” Ning Jiang answered, attempting to awaken the King’s sanity.

However, the half-human, half-demon King didn’t react to his words.

Furthermore, Ning Jiang discovered that the surging Demonic Qi from the Ghostly Array was gathering toward the King.

’After all these years, his human sanity has likely been under constant erosion. With the added power of this Ghostly Array, his reason might disappear completely.’

Ning Jiang’s eyes narrowed as he realized the gravity of the situation. Once this King was completely demonized and became a Demon Servant, even his own life would be in danger!

’How can I awaken his sanity? I know some of the True Words Technique, which can help clear a person’s mind, but his Demonization is already more than halfway complete. Besides, with my current Cultivation, the chances of awakening the sanity of a King are far too low.’

Ning Jiang’s thoughts raced. He knew this was a life-or-death moment; one wrong move and they could all meet their end here.

’That’s it!’

Suddenly, he recalled the four large, bloody words he had seen earlier. He immediately shouted coldly, ”You are a sinner!”

It was as if his words had jolted the King from a nightmare.

The moment these four words rang out, a flicker of struggle appeared in the half-human, half-demon King’s eyes, and his face twisted in immense pain.

”A sinner... I am a sinner...”

His body began to tremble, and the struggle in his eyes intensified.

’It’s working!’

Ning Jiang’s gaze sharpened. He now understood. Those four words must have been written by the King himself back when he was still sane, which was why they provoked such a violent reaction.

”That’s right, you are a sinner! You have committed an unforgivable sin!”

Ning Jiang spoke again, pressing him further.

His words were clearly effective. A trace of clarity actually appeared in the King’s bewildered eyes!

”I am a sinner... I was the one who killed everyone...”

The moment he spoke, he revealed a shocking piece of information, causing Gu Huaying and the others to pale.

’He did all this?’

”Save me... save me...” Suddenly, the King looked toward Ning Jiang, his voice hoarse and trembling.

”Hmph.”

Just then, a cold and evil voice boomed from within his body: ”Wang Yunfei, are you still not giving up? After all these years, how much longer will you resist? Accept all that I am, become my most loyal servant, and you will be reborn!” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The voice carried an endless authority. The moment it rang out, Gu Huaying and the others felt their very lifeblood roil, and an unbearable pressure washed over them.

”Demon Heart, get out of me! I will not submit to your will!”

Wang Yunfei roared, his face contorting hideously. It was clear his rational mind was enduring immense torment.

’Demon Heart?’

Hearing his words, Gu Huaying and the others were stunned for a moment. ’What kind of being is that?’

”Ning Jiang, what do we do?” Gu Huaying said anxiously. ”This King’s condition is extremely unstable. It’s obvious two wills are clashing within his body. If he’s suppressed and loses his sanity, I’m afraid we’re all going to die.”

”Look! The sword on his head is being forced out bit by bit!”

Lady Black Scorpion cried out in alarm.

They saw the sword in the center of Wang Yunfei’s head being slowly forced out by some power. With every inch it was pushed out, the human half of Wang Yunfei’s body mutated further. Even his other eye began to turn bloodshot.

Everyone understood that the sword was clearly what Wang Yunfei was using to suppress the Demonization. Once he lost it, the transformation would likely become complete.

”AHH! No! I am of the Human Race! I will never submit!”

Wang Yunfei clutched his head with both hands and collapsed to his knees, letting out a heart-wrenching scream.

”Heh heh heh... Wang Yunfei, it’s all about to end. Just give your body to me!”

The evil voice from within his body grew louder. As the sword was forced out, Wang Yunfei’s sanity was clearly being overwhelmed.

If nothing changed, he would be completely demonized and become a mere Demon Servant!

”Go... Hurry, find the Demon Heart... It’s at the core of the Array... Find a way to stop it...”

Just then, a broken, pained voice came from Wang Yunfei’s mouth. After saying this, he clutched his head and began screaming on the ground again.

To see a proud King forced into such a state made the others’ hearts tremble.

”Hmph. A few tiny ants think they can find me? You can all perish here together.”

As the evil voice faded, the surrounding, surging black gas began to condense, forming one savage-looking monster after another!
