Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 450: Chapter 446: Meteor Sea Region

Only after leaving his room did Ning Jiang realize he was on a massive ship. It stood three stories tall, as large as a mountain.

Once on deck, Ning Jiang looked out at the sea and understood the reason for the ship’s shaking.

It wasn’t under attack. Rather, the sea’s surface was dotted with whirlpools. As the massive ship skirted their edges, the immense pulling force made it shudder.

Fortunately, the vessel was large enough that the whirlpools could only make it tremble, posing no real threat of damage.

”Oh, you’re awake.”

A delicate voice suddenly sounded from behind Ning Jiang. He turned to see an adorable girl in a light cyan dress.

She looked to be about fifteen or sixteen, with large, bright eyes that held a pure innocence. Her hair was tied in two ponytails, making her look full of life.

”My sister said your injuries were so severe it would take at least ten days for you to wake up. I didn’t expect you to be up in just three. It must be because my prayers worked!”

The girl smiled faintly, revealing two dimples at the corners of her mouth.

”You saved me. Thank you.”

Ning Jiang recognized her. She was the girl who had rushed over and struck the Sea Serpent with her palm. Although he could have used a Forbidden Technique to kill the creature, it was questionable whether he would have survived afterward.

So, in a way, he owed his life to this girl.

”Hee hee, don’t thank me. The real credit goes to my sister.”

The girl stuck out her tongue playfully, showing no intention of taking the credit. Just then, her big eyes caught sight of a graceful figure walking toward them.

This was a woman of about twenty, with a tall, slender figure and exquisite, beautiful features. Her face bore some resemblance to the younger girl’s but possessed a greater maturity. She was a rare beauty.

”I didn’t expect you to wake up so quickly.”

She glanced at Ning Jiang, slightly surprised.

”Thank you for your help,” Ning Jiang said in turn.

”There’s no need to thank me. I only stepped in to save you because Xiu’Er was in danger,” the woman said coldly.

”Sister, how can you say that?” the girl said, slightly disgruntled.

”Hmph.” The woman snorted coldly and said sternly, ”Xiu’Er, I still haven’t reprimanded you for what happened that day. Do you realize how much danger you were in? If I hadn’t been by your side, you would have been killed on the spot. To risk your life for a stranger is simply preposterous!”

At the woman’s sudden outburst, the girl, Xiu’Er, seemed to shrink back in fear, not daring to talk back.

However, from her pouted lips, it was clear she was unconvinced. Yet, she didn’t dare voice her opinion in the face of the woman’s authority, which was rather amusing.

”You silly girl. I’ll let you off this time, but if you dare do it again, see how I’ll punish you.” The woman shot the girl a fierce glare, then turned with a graceful stride and left the bow.

’She’s going to punish me for saving someone? My sister is so unreasonable.’

Watching the woman’s retreating back, the girl secretly made a silly face.

”Your sister is just concerned for you,” Ning Jiang said with a smile. The woman seemed strict, but in reality, she was only thinking of the girl’s safety.

”I know she cares about me, but I’m still not convinced,” the girl huffed. She then turned to Ning Jiang and said, ”By the way, I’m Chu Xiu’Er, and my sister is Chu Qingqing. What’s your name?”

”Ning Jiang.”

”You’re older than me, so I’ll call you Brother Ning.” Chu Xiu’Er, innocent and without a shred of cunning, asked, ”Brother Ning, what happened to you? Why were you so badly injured? When you were floating on the sea, I actually thought you were dead.”

”I fought a powerful enemy and was severely injured, ending up adrift here. For us to meet in this vast sea, it must be fate.”

Afterward, through his conversation with Chu Xiu’Er, Ning Jiang managed to learn a great deal about the East Sea.

According to Chu Xiu’Er, the Vast East Sea was divided into eight sea regions, each one incredibly expansive, spanning tens of thousands of miles.

The region they were currently in was called the Meteor Sea Region.

The Meteor Sea Region was about the size of half the Six Eastern Provinces, spanning tens of thousands of miles. Countless islands were scattered across this vast expanse of sea.

Humans lived on those islands.

”Our Chu Family comes from Cyan Spirit Island in the Meteor Sea Region, and my father is the Island Master of Cyan Spirit Island.”

Chu Xiu’Er said, lifting her small face with a touch of pride.

However, the Meteor Sea Region was filled with islands, and Cyan Spirit Island was just one of many.

Although Chu Xiu’Er’s father was the Island Master of Cyan Spirit Island, he was only a powerhouse of the Earth Martial Realm. In such a vast sea region, his rank was hardly worth mentioning.

”By the way, Brother Ning, you don’t seem to know anything about the East Sea. Where are you from?”

It was only then that the carefree Chu Xiu’Er thought to ask about Ning Jiang’s origins.

Ning Jiang had grown quite fond of this kind-hearted, guileless girl. ”The Six Eastern Provinces.”

”The Six Eastern Provinces? I’ve heard of that place!” Chu Xiu’Er exclaimed. ”Father said it’s adjacent to our Meteor Sea Region. Martial Artists from the Six Eastern Provinces often enter our waters. My sister, especially—she traveled through the Six Eastern Provinces before.”

”She did?” Ning Jiang was taken aback.

”Mhm, my sister is a Sword Cultivator, and her Sword Technique is incredible. I heard there’s a Major Sect in the Six Eastern Provinces called the Celestial Sword Sect, and their Sword Technique is unrivaled in the Six Provinces. Back then, my sister went to the Six Eastern Provinces to temper her own Sword Technique.”

Hearing this, Ning Jiang nodded. He recalled that Chu Qingqing had indeed slain the Sea Serpent with a remarkable Sword Technique.

”To dare travel to the Six Eastern Provinces alone just to temper her Sword Technique... your sister has great courage,” Ning Jiang commented.

”Of course my sister’s amazing! Not long after returning from the Six Eastern Provinces, she comprehended Sword Intent. On Cyan Spirit Island and the surrounding islands, my sister is a big celebrity.”

One moment Chu Xiu’Er was upset with her sister, and the next she was bursting with pride for her. Ning Jiang couldn’t help but smile. She really did have the disposition of a child.

Still, he rather liked this side of Chu Xiu’Er.

The great ship rode the wind and cleaved the waves, soon passing through the region of whirlpools and reaching calm seas.

”Brother Ning, we’ll reach Cyan Spirit Island in a few more days. You should come with us! It’ll be a perfect chance for you to tell me all about the Six Eastern Provinces.”

Having never left the Meteor Sea Region in her entire life, Chu Xiu’Er was naturally bursting with curiosity about the Six Eastern Provinces.

Although her sister had been there, she hadn’t traveled throughout all Six Provinces and didn’t know that much about the region.

”Brother Ning, my sister said the Six Eastern Provinces have the Seven Great Super Sects. Are they powerful?”

”Brother Ning, is the Ancient Forbidden Land in the Six Eastern Provinces really dangerous? Have you ever been there?”

”Brother Ning, one day, I’m going to be just like my sister and go see the Six Eastern Provinces for myself.”

Chu Xiu’Er chattered on and on along the way.

Her small face, bright with a smile like a blooming flower, was both charming and beautiful.

Ning Jiang didn’t find her annoying at all. In fact, her liveliness made him feel much more at ease, both in body and spirit.
