Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Shortly after Xu Feng understood the current situation during his absences, he was ultimately satisfied with Veronica.

His judgment was indeed correct! Even without his presence, the guild didn’t stagnate or become passive.

In fact, his guild had become quite fierce yet still very cautious under the leadership of Veronica.

Although a monopoly was established, Veronica knew her limits and didn’t isolate the neutral or ally parties.

Due to Veronica’s meticulousness, the neutral party was more than happy to accept the current state. Not only did Veronica offer protection and order at Garak Forest, but she also ensured the previous troublemakers were eradicated.

The troublemakers might have specifically targeted the Vanguard Guild, but it remained true that some of them became quite arrogant and even began to target other affiliations.

To simplify, it wasn’t just the Vanguard Guild being displeased, but most of the neutral party was equally dissatisfied with the mastermind behind the scenes.

Target whoever you want, but leave them out of it!

This was the neutral parties’ stance, but obviously, they were disregarded.

Hence, when Veronica established law and order, they adhered to it, granted that she didn’t even charge them or anything.

Only those who had offended them but not to the point of irreconcilable had to cough up a heavy fee if they wished to remain at Garak Forest.

”You know, Carmen… usually, I would have anticipated my guild being in shambles and required my immediate assistance.” Xu Feng started to chat with Carmen about how this development made him feel good.

”Veronica had always been good at administration. She was only underused because she didn’t have nepotism or that she refused to let others take advantage of her.” Carmen chimed in and supported Veronica’s action.

Was she slightly soured about being sidelined by Veronica?

Yes!

But was she angry at her and wanted to drag her down?

Hell No!

In fact, Carmen was actually very happy that Veronica had finally found a place that didn’t discriminate against her and placed so much trust in her.

”Guild Leader… do you know sometimes I feel like you’re much older than what you appeared on the surface?” Carmen suddenly said and continued, ”You always appear calm and mature, almost as if you have witnessed a lot of things and become immune to them.”

”...”

Xu Feng was caught off-guard temporarily and didn’t know how to respond to that. His actual mental age was actually older, but his physical age was still a youthful adult.

Thankfully, Carmen didn’t press further on the topic and began to ask if she should start getting ready to buff up. After all, the potions stashed in her inventory weren’t cheap and had very short duration.

”Give me a few moments to ponder.” Xu Feng responded. He was unsure of how many monster waves they might face this time.

Usually, it would be six waves in total, but then this was the final battle. So could there be an additional wave or a big boss in the end?

This was the question!

With no specific instructions, Xu Feng couldn’t be certain whether he should save some of his powerful skills or not. After all, the cooldowns were no laughing matter, and even a slight miscalculation could ruin a lot of things.

Most top rankers were also aware of the cooldown in their skills, which was the main separation between casual and pros.

Casual players never bothered to calculate their cooldown skill and would just use whatever was available.

However, pros always calculate everything before commencing an action.

’Hmm, seems like I need to think about my skills rotation too then.’ Carmen suddenly thought to herself. She was now being influenced by Xu Feng’s actions and realized she had to rotate her skills better.

As she opened her skills tree, Carmen’s attention was quickly placed on her Void Portal.

Void Portal was similar to a repositioning skill that most mage classes have to ensure their safety is guaranteed. However, it wasn’t just that as it enabled her to do long-scale teleportation.

It was also her most used utility skill to date ever since she unlocked the Void Portal.

After thinking a while, she began to scan around the scene to see where she could use her Void Portal and remain active in the battle.

Given that there was a high possibility of monsters swarming into them, she needed a good pivot point to continue to churn out skills while remaining safe.

Amidst her deep thoughts, Xu Feng’s voice suddenly resounded in her ears.

”There’s no need to inspect too much.” He said and continued, ”I’ve already sent you a message with the screenshot and labeled the area for us to proceed with the battle.”

Stunned, Carmen quickly opened her message and noticed it was a screenshot of their area, albeit with many labels and highlights.

Having already experienced the memorization at the sixth challenge, the screenshot was easily memorized by Carmen.

In less than 3 minutes, Carmen nodded her head. ”Okay, I’ve got it.”

”Alright, start drinking your buff. And remember, do not use your long cooldown skills unless the enemies are tanky or determined to be a boss.” Xu Feng retrieved his own set of potions and explained.

Sometime later, the two took a deep breath as they exited the safe zone.

[Final Battle Commenced! Wave 0/6, Final Boss: 0/1]

Looking at the system prompt, Xu Feng heaved a sigh of relief.

”Phew, it seems like we weren’t going to do this blindly.”

”Yeah, now we know it’s 6 waves and a final boss.”

Timer: 03:47:24

As the timer began ticking down, the metallic doors that surrounded them began to rise up, opening the field for those behind it.

Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed coldly as he had already begun to set up the fields and lay the traps.

These traps were all exchanged through the Willowbrook Village with the Willowbrook Merit Coins.

”Guild Leader, if you want to take the lead this time. I’ll be a nice woman to let you have it.” Carmen suddenly said, her eyes gazing at the ferocious monsters emerging from behind the doors.
